  1. Wow, I'm really sorry to hear things are going so rough . . . life is like that sometimes; I mean, I'm not pretending I can directly relate to what you're going through, but you have to know that a lot of people still care about you, and life will get better. And, if you're feeling down, there's nothing quite like hopping online and blowing away virtual bad guys in CS, I mean, just picture each one as a problem and pull the virtual trigger. Hehe...sorry, games are how I unwind from stressful situations. We're all hear for you though! Let us know if there's any way we can help!
  2. Thanks Boiler! Much appreciated!
  3. I have learned that I suck with photoshop and need lessons. However, don't have time for lessons at the time being. Basically I have a picture that needs a very small edit, and I was wondering if one of you photoshop wizards would be willing to help me out. It should only take you a couple of minutes, just erasing a button from a console. Please PM me if you can be of assistance. Thanks!
  4. Yup, it's official, it was the CPU...that computer is still going strong.

    Razer

yeah, please tell me that was for April Fool's?
  6. Crap! I'm a tech writer (been doing it for years with a proper degree and everything) but I live in Ohio! I would love to take this on in the side, and I have global experience...what're the chances of a work-from-home situation?
  7. Other start-ups like Revol have great bang for your buck--just make sure to check coverage maps. I had a friend that had T-Mobile and he HATED it, but they have great customeer service, and their coverage does continue to improve. They also have some pretty sweet phones.
  8. +1 "If I had a signal, this webpage would be loaded SO FAST!" Haha...agreed--all you have to do is look at AT&T's own updated 3G map. Where they have coverage, it is LIGHTNING fast now--they were getting beat by Sprint before, but it seems they fixed that. However, I'd rather be able to surf everywhere rather than in 13 cities. Refresh my memory, didn't you drop AT&T due to spotty coverage?
  9. Where was my birthday message on the 20th? Oh, and happy birthday guys!
  10. again, interested in the processor...I kinda need one now. Price?
  11. I love having Google at my fingertips everywhere I am...however, they are right, if you don't NEED it, you could get away with a standard phone with no worries. If you get data, get Verizon--they have waaay better data coverage, and they are faster most of the time. Sprint, believe it or not, is the fastest with decent data reliability, but their voice kinda sucks compared to AT&T and VZW. VZW is the best all-around-coverage. There was a rather large study done by an independent company that agrees with what I just said, but I can't seem to find the link. I will repost if I can find it
  12. seriously, why can't they take the time to spell things correctly and use correct grammar? They'd get a lot more suckers if they did that!
  13. The dust 1 map with all of the extra stuff in it...not sure what it's called
  14. Any time Jibba--I vote heat because I have had the same exact problem with decreased performance and freezing caused by heat.
  15. wowwee! I've always wanted real friends!
  16. Despite your various biases, you have to admit that this particular tablet looks pretty sweet. The joysticks and stand are sweet. I'm interested to learn what 3D Video Conferencing looks like too....
  17. Sorry SJ, when I said PC, I meant Windows-Based PCs. Oh, and I know allll about boot-camp, so don't go there either
  18. sounds like heat to me off the top of my head... I would definitely try blowing out the heatsink over the CPU--if you don't know what that is, take a picture of the inside of the computer and we can point it out to you. If that is not clogged with dust, I would tehn take it off and check to see if the thermal compound has solidified--that's a little trickier, but I've done that on about 10 different machines and performance increased dramatically each time. Heat is the enemy! also, download Ccleaner, run the cleaner, and run the registry tool.
  19. The guy on the right obviously doesn't care about presentation and is slovenly. Why would I hire a guy that doesn't at least dress nicely for a serious job interview? The slob didn't even shave! Plus, judging by his wanna-be-hipster stance, I would guess he uses something silly like a Mac and that's a problem as my office runs completely on PCs. None of our industrial testing software runs on a Mac...yup, wouldn't work.
  20. Actually, after switching out the processor (and two days thus far) the validation error has not re-appeared. I'm going to give it until the end of the week before I call it solved... the MOBO is new, that was my first thought as well, that's why we replaced it. When I pulled the old Pentium 4 off the board, there was slight discoloration on some of the pins that could have been caused by heat damage--we shall see.
  21. Quick Update: Swapped CPUs tonight--I will let you guys know what happens. I don't know i I'm the only one that finds this fascinating or not...but, if a bad CPU could be JUST bad enough to screw up validation...well, that'd be strange.
  22. Duh...and on that note, 41...
