So how should I treat the fans on the psu? Should I take them into account when figuring the intake/exhaust ratio of fans or not? Looks like my case has a place for one 80mm fan in the front and one 120mm fan in the back. Make the 80 an intake and the 120 an exhaust?

A couple of weeks ago, I got a little tipsy at the bar and was still off when I got home. I went into my building, walked up the stairs, and just as my apartment door came into view.... I pointed my car door unlocker at it and clicked unlock. Not sure if that fits this category, but I did it. I admit it. And I'd like to blame society instead of my beloved beer.

Unfortunately, the screenies they've most recently released of the game don't look very good. The player and weapon models look pretty horrid. Sure hope they are bum screens and not indicators of the released game.

I clicked on the Mayhem stats link and saw that I had played for 33ish hours (time sure flies when your getting slapped around). Then I noticed a guy like Magruter had 73ish hours of playing time. For the heck of it, I checked out the other server stats to see Magruter had another 131ish hours under his belt there.... 200+ hours!?!?! When exactly does he eat, poop, or sleep? Scratch that. Don't answer. I'm afraid he'll tell a story of the minifridge he has set up next to his porcelain gaming seat (with bum cozy). Out of curiousity, how long a time frame does the stats program keep logs? A couple weeks or all time?

Just the thread I was coming here to post a request for. Thank you all. Just starting to get into the new PC mode and thought I'd build my own this time. Question on the fans: intake should equal exhaust. got it. how do i treat the psu fans in this equation? do i factor them in or is this strictly for the case fans? Also, I think I'll stick with places that I've had good experiences with like newegg and zipzoomfly for my components, but does anyone know of a place to pick up xp pro on the super cheap? I'm not desperate for quality customer service on software. I am, however, up for not paying $140+ for xp pro if I don't have to (not looking for anything shady, just as good a deal as I can get).

I was pretty big into the forgotten hope mod for bf42 not too long ago. The game is top notch, with fantastic planes, tanks, and usefull infantry (my biggest issue with DC is that you tend to be pretty useless unless in a vehicle). Unfortunately, my free time has been short and sporadic recently so I stick to CSS. I never played the old CS, so this is fresh, fun, and fast paced. It's a lot easier to get into the swing of CSS for 20 minutes than FH.

Not sure I've ever found much difference between Dayton and Batavia. Both are off the civilized beaten path, and neither are worth looking up on mapquest.

Coding sounds suspiciously like the province of not stupid people. I just did the copy and paste from the xfire website before. I ain't so learn-ed when it comes to them intarnet doohickies... Bodes poorly for my personal project of building my next pc all by my lonesome, does it?

Get rid of individual stats and the server stats, and you could be onto something ... Took me forever to figure out why people kept saying "rank" in this game. Kinda goofy to be in the middle of a round and have guys checking their personal server stats.

Good close matches every round with teamwork? When this game gets the right mix of people on each team, it's a ton of fun. Slaughters kinda blow chunks, but some people dig winning more than competing. Nothing quite as cool as having a wingman or two and covering each other for a good struggle, with or without a victory at the end.

My limited experience with the server seems to indicate that many people don't have any problem with the no profanity rule, but many indeed have a hard time understanding what constitutes profanity. Truth to tell, I'm not entirely sure I understand the boundaries here. Consider that sometimes I am on the server with no GC sometimes, on the server with GC who don't seem to have admin other times, and on the server with GC who sometimes miss what is said (naturally. nobody reads every post every time). Add to that my belief that not all admins are created equally (this is not a slam on quality of character. some are more strict than others or have different interpretations of the rules.), as well as a stricter than most policy, and you have a heck of a mess. I'll speak only for myself and my experience: When I first joined the regular server, I stayed specifically because of the profanity rules. I don't particularly care about some bad language, but bigotry of all forms really ticks me off. GC's server seemed like a fantastic compromise. I don't say some of the finer four letter words and you guys keep racists, antisemites, and the rest of their ignorant buddies away. What took some getting used to was the extreme of the language restrictions. I, like others, considered the extent of the profanity ban to include all things you can't say on television. I did not understand that the rules meant I should conduct myself as if in the presence of a ruler wielding nun (again, not a slam on the rules; merely a little humor to illustrate a point this time. however, i do consider this an important distinction. right or wrong, more people in today's society distinguish linguistic faux pas from television than from church.). The less nice forms of heck, darnit, and gosh took some getting used to to remove from my scopeless vocabulary. As mentioned above, there is also a bit of chaos inherent to the pressence of GC with or without admin. Some have the power to adjust attitudes and do. Others don't (for personal taste or missed post reading while engaging the enemy). Also included are those who don't have the power to stop people from saying nasty things or spraying nasty sprays. It can be tough on the new people who see others get away with saying things that they cannot. The servers I've admined or run have had a basic notion of protecting the server first while trying to be as understanding as possible (you guys do a bang up job). As a general guide, we stick with: 1) Our rules our server 2) Everyone should get a warning first 3) Ban and resolve later 4) Everyone deserves a second chance (except cheaters and total racists) My experience here is that you guys all follow the same rules and admin like demons ( total props for that. i tend to play on your servers or not play at all.) ...A.D.D. has set in. I think I may have lost my main point here... dagnabit. The most important thing I want beg is for a clearer definition of what is and is not acceptable language on your servers. Lots of people actually do read the MotD, but don't truly understand the extent of the rules. Perhaps you could implore people to speak as if in church, not as if on television. Variety is the spice of life. I say you throw all the maps on the server and check your stats over a few weeks to see which ones kill the server every day. Give it a week or two for people to figure it all out, and then modify the rotation accordingly. My experience with the maps is rather limited, but I understand that some maps that aren't so fun with AWPS are supercool on scopeless. I'd sure like to see how they all play on this server.

One of us has been freebasing twinkies in the bathroom. I would bet money autobuy and rebuy were both working without a hitch until a few days ago. I'm not sure what was done a month ago, but it wasn't something that disabled autobuy.... Or is it me who has twinkie fluff for brains?

Was hoping to understand why it was disabled when I played there last night. Having that and the rebuy certainly changed the way I went about playing the game (got tired of buying lots of stuff when I died so I got real simple ). I keep looking for positives to having these features disabled, but the lazy part only sees that I can't have that extra swill of beer while pressing F2 anymore . Just thought I'd try to understand the reasoning here on the forums. Cya'll later.

On occasion, I have been on one of your servers when, sensing no admins were present, individuals have taken to causing a nasty ruckus (could you describe the ruckus, sir?). What is your prefered method for dealing with this? Are screenshots of the offense good enough? Demos? Are we simply out of luck when no admins are making the bad men stop? Just trying to get an idea of what action to take in the future. Normally, I grab a screenie or two of the tomfoolery, then grab the screenie of a consoled 'status' command... Just hoping to get an outline of how to go about making the meanyheads pay for their crimes with eternal pain and sufferi....*ahem* Just want to know how to go about helping to adjust the attitude of the fine young men and women who goof. A post similar to the how to get unbanned thread might be helpfull. Is this even the correct forum to make such requests?
