  1. Hey guys, it's me again. Anyone else out here as engrossed with anime as I am? I love it. can't get enough. I'm watching all kinds of new shows right now (currently airing in japan) and have seen bundles besides those. I've got about 370 gigs of it in all (not including my j-pop collection, or actual hard copies...) so I figured I'd see if any others out here have as "healthy" an obsession as I do... What have you guys seen? liked, loved, hated? Have questions? Have answers? let's chat.
  2. how dare you doubt my boobies. it's doghouse time for you, mister.
  3. hehe, didn't you notice the super sad smiley after that post? It was like "hey, I'm awesome! but super pathetic " like that.
  4. I love finding a fry stuck in with my chicken nuggets.
  5. credit. dungeons or dragons?
  6. I have been poking at bass now for a year and change, really enjoying myself. picked up a rickenbacker (blue and white) for sentimental reasons (flcl anyone?). she sounds beautiful. I also have some drums and can keep a beat, though can't do much for fillers. (<---- anyone got advice on how to start learning those?) so, what do you guys play? anyone in the famous and coveted conglomerate known as a band? do tell.
  7. I hate all of you! haha, no I kid, I kid. I only hate a select few of you.
  8. It's hard to find a good middle ground. If you have someone who can relate to the actions of the person in combat, i.e. someone who has also been there, are you getting an unbiased judgement, or a sympathetic "I can see how he'd do that."? I think someone on the outside looking in can be more unbiased and judge based more on a global set of rules than on their personal experiences. That said, I still think the politics of the situation are what caused this man to be put in the situation that he was. We have to appeal to the technicalities and doctrine of what is designated "warfare" rather than what (most of us think, it seems) is considered simply "right."
  9. me too. only, tonight. not the tonight you were trolling. which isn't tonight anymore.
  10. wow, you guys are like, a community or something.
  11. we had this problem here at our place as well, actually. pings started skyrocketing, seemingly nothing had changed. we were getting lost hops all over the place when checking out tracert, so that's why this may be a different problem than ours was. either way, it's worth a mention. our problem was shoddy cabling. the mediacom guy came and rewired our basement (nothing extraordinary; just new cable that wasn't hanging all over the place ) and our problem was solved. I say this is similar to your problem because we had been running fine on the old cable for a few months, and then it just started acting up. something got jostled or cut somewhere I guess. anyway, it's worth having a look at your cabling if you think that may at all be a problem. (also if you've got any cable splitters or anything, that can cause some loss too.)
  12. to swimming? hmm. it seems more like he'd have an aversion to concrete.
  13. heh, I hate when that happens. luckily, I went back in time and murdered the past me. that'll teach him!!
  14. haha! I have no school, no girlfriend, and nothing to do on friday nights! I can play CS constantly!!
  15. tried apoc in dosbox, still no luck... I simply fear it is never to be on my system. bleah
  16. the implications are astounding.
  17. I will have to give dosbox a try, thanks for the info. as far as Aftermath, the in-mission is still a top-down tactical display like apoc and x-com 1. That's the most similar part really, and throw in the ability to spin the view around and zoom in and out to a degree and you've got a really nice tactical game. It's just like apoc's real-time tactical missions in that you can pause completely, assign orders and browse inventories, and then choose a speed to continue the action. There's a few problems, like unit pathfinding through very small corridors, but not much else. It also has pretty nice 3D graphics in-mission, and many things are destructable. A buddy of mine (silentstile) tried downloading the demo and had trouble with the text size. There's no configure tool with the demo like the full version has, apparently. I was turned off at first by not being able to build my bases and manage money, but when I equated the strategic part of the game more to risk, I found it very fun. They did a good job of making a game similar to x-com, but not identical with better graphics.
  18. Ok, my screen na... HEY! this is a trick isn't it? ( fatty )
  19. I will throw my 2 bits in the fray on the side of thoroughly enjoying this motion picture. It was awesome! I'm a huge gamer, and it felt like a really cool session of d&d to me. one where the DM wanted the poor characters to get tossed around by the gods.
  20. Thank you Fatty, that's all I wanted to hear. I appreciate that fact that you do care about the players in your servers. Again, Thank you.
  21. Anyone played UFO: Aftermath? I just got it from amazon for $25, and I'm pleasantly satisfied. I was a huge fan of X-COM: UFO Defense and X-COM: Apocalypse, and this one had some of the same people working on it (I think). If you liked the X-COMs, this one fits the bill. It's fairly new too, so the graphics are pretty nice. It is somewhat different though, as you don't construct a base and accumulate wealth like the X-COMs. You get bases and select missions as they pop up across the globe, expanding your territory and getting more bases in that fashion. It has a Risk feel to it in that respect. A fun game, no doubt. On the same note... I've been trying to get X-COM: Apocalypse running on XP for ages. I've gone to all the sites and in theory, it should work. I've put all the patches and fixes in and my roommate and another friend have it working on their XP systems with the same fixes. When I load the game, the menu screen comes up, but I can't interact with it at all. The mouse doesn't move at all, and the keyboard doesn't affect the options either. I have to manually kill it for it to go away. Anyone having the same problem?? lemme know =P
