  1. Fatty, I don't need the word "affect" or "effect" to be in a sentence for my statement to remain true. Let's say that having care for something is the same as being affected by something, shall we? An emotional response. In that case, you stated multiple times in your conversation with pagan that you "don't care". That implies to me that you were not affected by his actions, and yet took actions that imply to me that you were affected; i.e. calling him out on his play style. In any case, I said earlier that I didn't think you were cold-hearted, but to dismiss pagan's emotion (as he stated his anger in the conversation) with the statement; "you are not enough to bring unhappiness out of me" makes me rethink my statement. I find this disturbing. To not have the slightest emotion attached with people you spend a good portion of your time with (be it on the internet or not) doesn't seem natural to me. I don't like how you dismiss the whole thing as a "sad divergence". How can you possibly govern over a people without having emotion for them? It seems to me that if pagan were to cry over your words towards him, you would laugh at him. With you having control over our fates in your servers, I would have hoped that things like this could "impact [you] personally".
  2. Well I didn't take that into account, and that's a very good point. I can certainly understand fatty and the other admins speaking with regs who aren't adhering to the expected behavior in the servers. However, if that were the intent of Fatty, why didn't he ask pagan to shape up or ship out? It looked more like Fatty was simply telling pagan how he felt (which implies some emotion to me). He didn't (and he said so himself) ask pagan to leave, which would seem like the thing to do if pagan wasn't following the rules that the admins enforce. I certainly don't think Fatty is a cold-hearted robot. My thoughts come down to these ideas: A.) Fatty cares about pagan's conduct because it affects his enjoyment of the game. Thus, he told pagan how he felt. A decent thing, if he hadn't kept denying his reasons for the confrontation; i.e. "I don't care." B.) Fatty doesn't care, and is simply enforcing server rules. In that case, he should have laid down what actions pagan needed to take to remedy his misconduct, and threaten with a banning if said actions weren't undertaken. That's what I think.

  5. I agree with all of this 100%. Nice post Ich.
  6. Here's my 2 cents, unwanted as they may be. Fatty: I hear you saying how much you don't care. In the conversation, you said it many times. If you truly don't care about the game, you wouldn't have to give pagan your opinion on his playing style. It seems to me that you do care, and care enough about your playing experience to tell pagan how his actions in-game affect it. That, to me, is admirable. I respect that you don't mess around with pretense. What I don't respect is that you deny that you are affected. Again, if you weren't affected, you wouldn't say anything to him at all. "opinion" usually has some sort of emotion attached to it. Plus, in that conversation you were very belittling and sarcastic. I won't quote, it's all throughout. I think that's petty. Pagan: I will admit, I am a little turned off by your play style at times. I'm not fond of finding crazy places to hide, and if most of the team is doing one thing, I tend to follow. Fatty's right when he says there is a difference between blindly rushing and cowering. Now, I really don't think you go so far as to cower most of the time, or you surely wouldn't get the amount of kills you tend to amass. That said, I wouldn't have said anything at all had this topic not existed, as it wasn't an earth-shattering problem. 95% of the time I have no problem with how you play, because that's your choice. Do what you like. On that note, I say farewell pagan. If you do come back, I will be glad to see you, whatever the circumstances.
  7. Later pagan, I'll miss your headshots. (not )
  8. this thread is cool, I've learned just how crazy most of you are. well, I'm equally crazy, so here's some random nick stories: I started my internet days with the nick Chromax. I ripped that directly from an old school DOS game: Rise of the Robots 2. (the disc I still have in my closet, truly classic ) I think I wanted a less "dark" sounding name at one point in high school, so while searching for one, a friend of mine was telling me how all he ever did in programming class was play "java bomberman" instead of doing his coding. The sound of those two words just clicked, and it has stuck with me since then. I have yet to have to choose a different name when signing up anywhere with JavaBomberman as my login name
  9. for as long as I've been on these servers (centuries now, or still decades..?) I have never once seen an admin ban/kick anyone for being killed by someone on the opposite team who was better than he, and not cheating. Trust me, I would have been banned many, many times by now ( chewy ), as we all know that I am the epitome of excellence ( ) on these servers, except maybe for pagan. (<-- H4x!! ) in short, vote for me in 2006, and don't swear on the mic.
  10. haha, nice try bushmaster. *thinks of a clever way to get some admins banned*
