  1. http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=252318 How about 9 years in the pokey? Don't pass go and be SURE to not drop the soap. I do hate that cliche but common...the dude was pulling in $700,000 profit per month. Makes me almost want to be as hated. BTW....16 high speed lines would have to be of T-3 or better to equal 50k a month on BB bills.
  2. Thanks for the info Fatty. I now assume that only CS will be played - which is A-OK with me. I also would not mind chucking a few darts. Might be a welcome break after gaming for an extended period. Looking very forward to this!!
  3. Darn...first thing I thought of was the free jumbo shrimp that Long John Silvers had promised everyone if water was found. I think that offer was last year and only within a specified time now that I think about it. Oh well....funny pict though!
  4. Sweet! Thanks for the email reminder. I have been meaning to post up about FF05. After speaking with the wife and agreeing to work some OT to cover expenses - I will be driving up from Dayton. I know none of you and am for the most part new to this community.....but heck..what better way to get to know everyone!! I have talked to Chewychee and have been nagging him to come with as well, but he may need some pressure from other members. I only mention this here because I will be paying here within the next couple weeks and didn't want to start a new thread. Not to go OT I do have a couple questions: 1. Will any other games be played? There was mention before but all I have heard about is CS. Just a thought - but Battlefield 2 will (hopefully) be out in June of this year. All I am really interested in is CS, so this is just out of curiousity. 2. Will there be any Internet access at the event? I would imagine you could get access in the rooms but I was wondering about the ball room. 3. I understand that no alcohol will be allowed at the gaming tables , so what about other beverages? No smoking is a good thing for the non-smokers, but I have that monkey firmly planted on my back. I will require a seat towards the back facing the bar. (I will let Fatty know when I pay). And lastly..PROPS for all the hard work that is going into making this happen!! I cannot even imagine the time and effort that has gone into planning. w0000000t!! You guys rock!! Oh and yeah..I watched the video today and showed the guys at work. We all are in agreement that this will be a great time!
  5. *Looks around at coworkers* Of course I got my green on! I am bolting outta here at noon. Got me a date with some ales and NCAA action! w00t!
  6. Congrats!! WOW! A 10 pounder is huge!! If this is your first child then welcome to fatherhood. IT ROCKS!!!
  7. I was updated by my other favorite barkeep this evening (she is SOO much hotter than Chewy)..it seems that Dayton is the 5'th most sickest city in the US. Anyone else looking forward to some Cabrewing?!?!?! I certainly hope that everyone of legal age residing in Ohio knows of this term..
  8. I can't wait for the warm weather to stay with us. Seems like all the back and forth weather has made most of Dayton sick. I was last week...gave it to our webmaster and then the wife and daughter. DOH! Maybe by the time March madness is over we can look forward to some warmer weather sticking around.
  9. Oh man! LOL! Excellant essay questions as well.
  10. LOL!! That is great man! He had told me made that shirt and I was wanting to see how it turned out. Looks like he nailed the CS logo - so I may have to get one for the wifey. She knows that I only get to play maybe 1/10 of the time that I used since having our daughter, so she is actually pretty cool with the time I spend "capping some T's". I can say in the past that I had thought about a 12 step program...oh those days at work used to hurt bad after a bender till 3 or 4 AM. LOL!! You are gonna LOVE the new laptop as well dude. You may need to tweak some CVARS to get it running smooth but having almost the same laptop, I can say it WILL run great. Getting used to the keyboard is a differant story though. I can loan ya my autoexec.cfg if needed. OR - SHE can dig the lappy while you are getting your admin on! We have to find the right game to introduce the world of FPS gaming to her...hmmmm..I will think this over and get back to ya.
  11. Done and I hope all is well. Update?
  12. I saw some ads about that show and just plain forgot about it. May have to search for some shows. You know there is always someone out there doing caps of shows and sharing. The wife has me into Survivor. Though The Amazing Race can be good. And to go way OT...24 is great. Other than the bluder tonight...Gimme the ethernet address now!! *rambles off the MAC address*...heheh.
  13. Mine is rather simple. Though I don't idolize Bruce Willas, I do enjoy a good beer after a long work day. While watching Die Hard one day I must have been day deaming about a beer and I came across a good play on words. Thus: Brew Swillas!!! I still always wonder who actually catches that pun.
  14. It seems like news in general anymore gets worse and worse..I always feel depressed rather than informed.
  15. There was a time I tried to get the old lady into games but it just never worked out. I wish you luck getting your PC back now! If she has that bug we all can relate to - you never know man! ! Think man think!!
  16. Cool I can hind behind you when I say.. My entire mothers side lives there as well. I make the trip at least twice a year for holidays and reunions. Should I run from a severe beating from Fatty?? yikes..
  17. mrduke. I know that we don't know each other from Adam, but I have been reading your thread. Honestly it took me a long time to get through. I am not ashamed to admit your story actually made me cry. You see - I too have a daughter and though she is only 9 months old, she is my light Reading your words made me want to be a better person and to not take anything for granted anymore. I hope that me telling you this can at least make you smile. What you are going through can ONLY make the whole family unit stronger when she gets better. I just want you to know that I have your entire family in my thoughts and prayers. You can surely be expecting a hat for Danielle. In fact I will discuss this with the wife this evening and hopefully set a date to go shop. I hope you do not feel weird or awkward about me posting. I only joined this site yesterday. I just wanted to let you know that a stranger can walk through the door at anytime and offer a bit of support. Stay STRONG brother. -Eric
  18. Thanks again for the welcome! And a little arrogance is good to have....you just have to be able to joke around about it. mrduke - thanks also for the welcome...what I have to say to you I will post in your ongoing thread.
  19. Dayton representing here! A LOT of family from around Cuyahoga Falls and Stow. Father graduated from KSU as well.
  20. Thanks for the welcome! Chewy...common man. Where is my beer?? You can't cut me off already - I just got here!
  21. Hello all! I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I was directed to this site by my friend Chewychee (who, btw, does a FINE job at pouring my beers at the watering hole!) while talking about gaming servers recently. I have read through the FAQ's and checked out a few of the forums here and just kind of felt that you guys have something special going on. Seems like everyone has a mature attitude and I haven't seen any inflated egos or childish bickering. All too common in other communites that I am eventually driven away by. Trying not to ramble I will give a brief introduction about myself. I live in Dayton, Ohio and am 31 with a wife and beautiful 9 month old daughter. This keeps me pretty busy as any father can tell you, but I generally get some time in the evening to throw down some CS:S. I have played CS since 1.1 and been in 2 clans. I am now just looking for a good server to unwind on after a long day at the ISP I work for. Anywho....just wanted to give a shout out. I look forward to hopefully getting to know some of you and maybe putting a few bullets into some new friends domes. The video of last years LAN was AWESOME and looked very well run. I have a lot of family from the Akron/Stow/Kent area and it is great to find a great community so close to home. Cya around!
