  1. Looks more like Optimus Prime got sick and this is what he threw up.
  2. Hot deal even without the rebate. Yeah, I like the looks of my 900 more.
  3. The power supply you picked would be fine for running a 460 or 560, but if you are adding a second card (for physx or SLI down the road), I would consider stepping up to something like this: Corsair TX750 Price is similar to what you listed, and Corsair makes great PSUs as well. If you really need/want modular, then a Corsair HX750 would do it. A little headroom is a good thing, and power supplies are the one area of a build where you DEFINITELY don't want to go cheap. That one I listed would easily last you through two builds, assuming you don't make a massive jump in power requirements. The single 12v rail @60amps on that one I listed would be very solid for your graphics/physx needs. Doesn't have to be Corsair, but go with a good manufacturer and look for something in the 650-800w range and 80+ certified. I just bought a one of these Corsair TX750 units, $105 shipped from amazon, 20 cheaper then the Egg. I plan on picking up another GTX 460 in a week or two, so I needz mor joose. Here's a good review, I really like this guy.
  4. If you already HAD a 460 and were thinking of upgrading to a 560, then I would say it's probably not worth the money. Starting "fresh" though, 33% performance increase is definitely worth another $30 in my book. Here is the article I used for those numbers in case you care to see for yourself: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=28691&page=9 From what I can tell from that site, the 560 is almost 10% faster looking at all the games numbers. And the 560 is is what 10% more? New system I'd go with the 560, course come 460's are well under $200. And with a quad core, you may rather have the CPU doing the physics rundown. Think it would kick the snot say, outta a 8800GT for dedicated physics.
  5. Does that board support Crossfire, don't think it does but may not matter to you. I recommend getting the 2500K for a few more bucks if you ever plan to overclock. The vanilla 2500 is totally locked. I need another GTX 460 You might try the Ripjaws X, updated Ripjaws with XMP profile for the P67. I have the Ripjaws X 1866 8gb set and works great. Note: I dunno where Newegg flopped, but when I ordered that RAM it took 2 weeks for me to get it. I started going nut's after the first week with the rest of my build in front of me. AVOID EGGSAVER SHIPPING
  6. Nice deal here for a 2500K and 1TB HDD for $200. In store only.
  7. If you don't have a certified 80+ power supply I recommend getting one, otherwise you could be throwing that saved 30 watts out the window. Yeah mine usually flows down once and then get's sold, usually. But the last time my AMD board died, I figured it would be better to sell my Athlon 64 CPU and go with a new up to date platform. I Still have my old Celeron 300A and 533A collecting dust.
  8. Because you know your throwing away moneys fixing that dead horse. What better time to upgrade. I'm impressed by my new ASRock P67 board even though I was a little leery of the brand. I've had bad luck out of Biostar, but I still might buy from them if price/ features are right. Another note: The i5-2500K isn't really that much more (10%) and is fully unlocked. Even if you never overclock, the resale value will be greater a few years down the line.
  9. Upgrade! Picked up Sandy Bridge parts. Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz $225 ASRock P67 EXTREME4 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 $155 G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1866 $100 (had a 30 off coupon) Stats? 3dMark Vantage: E5200 @ 4.0 w/GTX 460 P16066 3DMarks i5 2500K @ default 3.3 w/GTX 460 P18053 3DMarks 3dMark 11: E5200 @ 4.0 w/GTX 460 P2951 3DMarks i5 2500K @ default w/GTX 460 P3503 3DMarks I realy like the ASRock motherboard so far, even though I told myself I would never buy blow 150 bucks on a mobo again. But it has some cool feature and providing it lasts at least 3-4 years it will be worth it. Cool factor: Has the new EUFI instead of BIOS, can run SLI or Crossfilre, has a lit clear CMOS button on the back panel next to the PS/2 ports, lit power and reset buttons on the motherboard, diagnostic LED readout, supports LGA 1155 and 775 heatsinks. Was able to use my previous Arctic Freezer saving me $30+. Oh and has USB 3 front bay panel. The G.Skill has the XMP function, go into the BIOS, um, I mean the EUFI, pull up the XMP profile and it sets your RAM speed and timings according to the manufacturers specs. Pretty sweet. I love to overclock, and the 2500K is unlocked, but... seems needless right now. Even the 2 year old $42 E5200 pushes my new GTX 460 to it's limits. I did notice the i5 did climb up to 3.6ghz, the auto turbo function does work as claimed ,but in reality it's only 10%??? Yes, the CPU cooler is at a slight rotation. The 1155 cooler mounts are placed normally and the 775 mounts are slightly rotated. I reused my old 775 Arctic Freezer 7 Pro. I so want to drop another GTX 460 in here.
  10. I just upgraded to a i5 2500K over the weekend, um, but my stuff didn't die on me. Was running a intel E5200 dual core but clocked all the way up to 3.9~4.0 Mhz. I can tell no kind of Win7 performance difference, the E5200 along with a GTX 460 was pretty darn snappy. Gaming? I really can't tell a difference here either, course I don't know if I have any games that can make use of the I5s quad cores. Even 3dMark numbers video numbers are nearly identical, seems the GTX 460 is the bottle neck. CPU be damned. Don't think the new fancy DDR3 makes much of a difference either. I would be disappointed with these results considering the I blew $485 on the upgrade, but I sold my old stuff plus a couple more old parts and recouped $325. My recommendation? Just get another (good) motherboard, check out some overclocking and maybe drop in a better video card. Or AMD has Quads at $100 and DDR3 is dirt cheap right now. I picked up 8gb of upper end for $100. GL HF!
  11. Firefox never crashes on me, what are you people doing? I might load up FF4 this weekend and try it out.
  12. Hit lvl 30 recently on my second game and headed to Dead Wind cave to see what all the ruckus was all about. Seems the Gauss rifle was made for clearing out those pesky little beasts, for me anyway. Didn't know there were eggs in there, and I just happen to be on the last quest of the Thorn, what luck! I only have just a few more placed to uncover before I have seen every place on the map. Oh yeah, and I just got my Sunset Sarsaparilla Prize.
  13. So your saying it has gone Gold then right? Otherwise I've heard/seen it all before.
  14. My wife was nice enough to get a GeForce GTX 460 for Christmas. My scores might seem a little low but I am running just a 2mb dual core and a stock PNY. 3dMark Vantage: P16066 3DMarks compare 3dMark 11 : P2951 3DMarks compare According to my Vantage scores my new 460 is roughly 45% faster then my old 260 which scores P11032. compare 260 How does that translate into the real world? Playing Fallout New Vegas on the 260 I ran it at 1920x1200 and somewhere between high/ultra and 2x AA, where on the 460 I can run at 1920x1200, ultra and 4x AA and still seems a bit smoother.
  15. I have a U2410 and it's Grrrrrreeat! It's S-IPS panel looks sooooo much better then a TN. Plenty of inputs. Fast enough for gaming. Movies don't have that washed out look like my last Asus did. I like the extra horizontal pixels. Is there a 120hz and 3D capable IPS monitor out there? Get that one. So when are the super fast OLED monitors coming out??? C'mon already.
  16. I was snooping around Vault 11 and happen to take in a movie. New Vegas would really shine if it offered more of these gameplay tidbits.
  17. I'm playing my second game and I 'm using the wild wasteland trait. I was around level 10 and never seen anything crazy or funny. But I went into Vegas and ended up in the Ultralux, I got the tainted meat quest and while I went to investigate the investigator the the whole freaking Ultralux clan came after me. Needless to say I killed everyone wearing a mask. Was this normal to the quest???
  18. I'm about to watch the making of New Vegas and then start a new character.
  19. Oooh dang. Wonder if that was a bad choice to wait till the end. The Strip was somewhat a let down, all the hype, but there really isn't much there. You should be able to breeze through the main quest at level 30, and have many of the quests already done, I did at level 20. But good news! Time for Fallout 3! Go ahead and get the collector's edition, your gonna want the Broken Steel addon to go from level 20 to 30.
  20. Reload? No Flitter you don't play Fallout like that. When you die, your dead. You need to start over if that happens.
  21. Have an odd or interesting screen shot? Put it up here. Here at the Crimson Caravan Company, we have the cleanest dirt this side on New Vegas.
  22. I bet I have over 250 hours total in Fallout 3. (well that's playing 4 different characters)
  23. Oh, the Deathclaw area I'm talking about is in the upper right corner of the map by Boomer territory. There's a horde of them.
  24. One quest directed me to a irradiated vault that was filled with ghouls. I think I was around level 12-15 and they totally kicked my butt. That's one quest I gave up on. Anyone come across the area filled with Deathclaws? Yeah it's crazy. I had to take the long way around.
  25. Ah, I did see that one in Repconn, but I didn't spend much time in Primm.
