  1. I have DL'd both verisons but I can not get anyone of them to install, it just sits for ever and then the it says it is doing stuff and then reboots and then the monitor goes black and stays that way forever... Anyone else have any issues, or could you help a brother out???
  2. I was also very impressed with the size, so many people had said it was fairly big, but it was the same size if not smaller then the Ultra 450w one it replaced. You will be very happy with the Corsair PSU IMO. If you do want something a little more powerfull get the 750 version of this PSU, it has a great rating and the same power setup except it pushes 60A's on the single rail at 720watts, very nice....
  3. I got this one and think it is very nice (nearly silent when running), and fixed all my issues with my older PSU.
  4. Okay I order a Corsair tx650w PSU should be here by wed ($99 + free shipping and $20 rebate on top of that). Seems like a good PSU 52A and 80%+ eff. I will let you know...
  5. can we order pizza and watch you binge eat your way through a box? Oh Al, the pizza eating war starts again. <smile> He does like his pizza, i will give him that....
  6. Okay so I thought I had figured out but I got another symptom here. I DL'd Bioshock (hey for $4.99 how can i pass it up). Went to play and 2 min's into game it crashed just like in source. So i unhook the other hd's and boot up. Start it again and they I get some graphics stuttering and then a crash to desktop saying the display driver failed. So i am now thinking it is the card and not the power supply. I check the PSU today and it is 500watts with 38amps on the 12v rail so that should not be the issue. So either the driver is all messed up or the card is going bad or should I say is bad. I wish I had another pci-e card to test this theory out... Any input for you guys...????
  7. No they did and they still sell a couple but was thinking perhaps someone had an old one...
  8. So I am wanting to setup a NAS server with my HD's and have it running fine but I need SATA connections and the older MB does not have any. I know you can purchase the PCI cards to allos SATA connections, but I thought one of us might have an Older 478 board sitting around they want to s send my way for a little something (shipping..). Let me know if anyone can help me out?
  9. ya I have almost the exact same thing except 1 more HD and the 8800gts instead, but with a 500watt PSU. So the 650 or a 700 would work for me I would think. Thanks for the information Preacher..and Happy Holidays to you on this christmas day.
  10. What are your spec's and PSU that you use currently?
  11. so i tried everything I can think of and n0w still have the same issue. So i sat down today and did 3 hours of trouble shooting. What i came up with is it is the PSU. It is two small is what i am thinking. I came to this conclusion when i tested disconnecting all my HD's (3 of them) and only running the one with OS and Steam on it. When I did this everything worked out well, NO shutdown. When I connected the other HD's and ran CS it would shut down. So I think the draw is tooo much. I am thinking my PSU is maybe 500watts (did not look as it is on the side that is covered), but I did test the PSU with a tested and all the rails came up good and within range. So i used the newegg PSU cal, and it is recommending 581watts, which if I am right that my current PSU is only 500 would seem to fit. Does anyone second my reasoning here?? Or suggestions about the PSU size or commendations? They have a nice 80plus cert 650 Consair PSU at newegg that is like $80-90 after rebate...???
  12. 202, sry I missed last week, but it was the same as this week anyways. next week starts the exercise program again. This holiday food thing is one really big temptation...
  13. Man I am sorry you are having so many issues...Nothing like getting all the gear and excited about building it, but to run into a wall is just fustraiting. Dont let it discourage you in the future...soo enough the good times will roll and you will now be "that much" wiser... Cheers, Happy Holidays
  14. Ya they shoudls till honor the exchange, just tell them you dont have the box anymore. Plus is shouls still be under warrenty via newegg or manufactor...
  15. The media Center remote is one that you use with your comp to contole Windows Media Center Applications?? If so then I may want it...
  16. I'll trade you my Madden for your SB card?? Or I do have some others that I am no longer playing: MotorStorm, Ninja Gaiden, Civ. and a couple others I can not think of at the moument. Let me know..
  17. So if you are good with code, this might be something to check out....cool concept. Bountys
  18. Ya go ahead and do the RMA, they are really good about things and quick. Hey atleast this way you will know if it is the card when you get the new one in..
  19. only push it once...and only if you really need to..
  20. The one thing i would suggest is when u do the chipset install make sure you DL'd the neswest ones from the MB site, get the DL with all the drivers, it should install all of those things u listed after that on its own. Also DO NOT install anything from windows until you get everything from the MB site installed and the graphic drivers installed after that do the windows install and DO NOT let it switch u to automatic update wait until you hav everything updated on your own first. Also make sure you ignore any update that will change anything about your MB installed items (update is well known to downgrade to older drivers because they have not gotten around to cert'n them), really making sure it does not try to install another video driver use the newest ones from AMD. In my past 4-5 builds this was an issue i found. Good luck monk...
  21. To be honest this sounds like the chipset drivers and bios need to be updated and flashed. I would make sure those two things are done 1st, and see were that takes you...
  22. It did help..and thank you. Now I saw that newegg had a 260 on sale for $189, and I found a 4850 for $129, which one is better, and why?? I have heard that the 4850 get realy really hot....
  23. I did get riva and use to set to 100% but the card still runs a little hot, but atleast i can play. I saw a ASUS 4850 with a Zalman fan for $129 free shipping so i may get that if things get worse.
  24. OKay so I am going to say that after a lot of testing this and that and everything that it is caused by a heat issue with my video card. It seems that if I try and run CS when it is 69+ it will fail and shut off the computer. When I start the game when it is in the low 60's everything works out fine. Would it be worth while looking into getting a different cooler to install on the video card or is it not worth it. ?? Would running the card on a much larger monitor cause the card to work harder and generate more heat??
