  1. Yeah. Currently BFG and Asus are manufacturing them.
  2. Yeah it is. You can get a 7900GTX right now for cheaper then a 7800. Wasnt there some gaming benchmarks in the second portion of Anandtech Yonah write up?
  3. Wow. I was looking in the POS station at my work and the price difference here is like $115. If you want to get the uberest board Dark Archon the A8N32-SLI DELUXE is actually better then the A8N-SLI PREMIUM because it has 8 phase power, X16SLI, and a longer heatpipe. In the end it is really about whether or not you want to spend the extra money. Newegg has a 1 day sale on the A8N-SLI PREMIUM for $154 and the A8N32-SLI DELUXE is $200
  4. Anandtech Yonah - Pt I Anandtech Yonah - Pt II Those are some reviews of the new Yonah core. I actually just read a benchmark test of Conroe stuff with X2 and Fx-60 processors but I cannot seem to find it for the life of me. I will have to check my history when I get home from work. There is a roundup on Bit-Tech for 7900GT cards from BFG and XTX here but they haven't been able to get a similarly priced X1800XT for testing. There is a 7900GT write up on Anandtech here.
  5. Isn't this the best SLI board? Yeah it is, hence the "selling your soul" part. Most people don't want to choke down the cost of that board and would prefer the premium which only lacks 8-phase power and x16 SLI
  6. Can we post the maplist on here and have people just vote about which maps they like the best and THEN have the vote to add it to the rotation? As it stands right now I think the best contenders are russka and fire. People seem to feel both are ok maps and I would be inclined to say a few more probably inch towards russka. I do think that Mookie might be right about fire keeping traffic higher.
  7. Check out the Logitech G7 mouse. It is wireless, 2000dpi laser, 2 battery packs, adjustable dpi on the fly. I love that mouse to DEATH.
  8. You could just not spend all your money on your pc and go back in time. Then buy microsoft from bill gates and just have him run it. and THEN, YOU could be upset about being the richest man in the world.
  9. Yeah, that Premium board is the one I recommend to everyone. Unless you do sell your sould like I did and get the A8N32SLI-Deluxed but that is just an erroneous expensive for even the most hardcore of gamers. In any event, if you need any more help dude do not hesitate to ask! Have fun with the new machine it is going to be smokin fast!

While there are black and white lines when it comes to things of this nature there is a gray area with each of the admins. I would suggest that you either post this in the Immutable (GC West Coast Server) forum or request to have an admin move it there.
  11. So wait, you mean you can spend a total of $475.00 on the mobo AND processor? Am I reading that right?
  12. I voted russka but only because I hate it the least out of those maps.

    Boohoo

But if hates it SOOO much then why doesn't he give MORE money? I think he is still the highest ranking philanthropist in the world so it is not like he is pilfering all of his money. If I was him it isn't something I would be losing sleep over.

Location also plays a very important role in business success.
  15. Read the post I wrote above and see if any of those questions shed any light on it.

While it may be true that they are two different markets if you have a "gaming center" (what I would have had) you will be shutting out potential business by not at least having a few business type machines set up. With that being said, there are numerous "gaming centers" within a 25 mile radius of my house that failed within 4 months of operation. Outside of a booming metropolis like Chicago or Naperville I just don't think the business is there to stay afloat.

  18. EHEHHE....Well that IS AN AMD DUAL CORE so WHATEVER! MY POINT STILL STANDS! hehehheheheh
  19. Sounded like he was going for a more "new" setup.
  20. The Zalman blooming flower cooler is cool but the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 and the Big Typhoon are both better coolers. In terms of the processors what more is there that can be said? You have heard it from two different sources. The AMD Processors right now are just far better made and are far more efficient. When the Yonah and Conroe cores hit the streets Intel might take back the crown but as it stands right now AMD processors are better. Intel dual core processors cannot communicate over the crossbar while AMD processors can. It is like having to drive to the end of the block and back to get to your neighbors house instead of just walking across the grass. All of the AMD dual core processors have Hyper Transport enabled so you are working with two physical cores and two virtual cores. Because of the distance in the physical construction of the AMD processors they actually perform faster then comparable Intel equivalents. This is what spawned AMD's current naming convention in the first place. An AMD X2 3800+ is only a 2ghz processor but performs equivalently to a 3.8ghz Intel. That was the reason for the naming in the first place. Vista is going to support more multi-threaded applications then are currently supported by XP. With that being said, you want to buy a dual core now to prevent from having to upgrade again in the future.
  21. You want the Asus A8N-SLI PREMIUM not the Deluxe. Asus A8N-SLI Asus A8N-SLI DELUXE Asus A8N-SLI PREMIUM The board starts with one 4 channel set NVRAID controller, single Gigabit Ethernet, and crappy northbridge cooling fan. When you upgrade to the Deluxe you get Dual Gigabit Ethernet, a second 4channel RAID controller, same northbridge fan, and SPDIF on the back. When you upgrade to the premium its still Dual Ethernet, 2x sets of 4 channel RAID, SPDIF out, but you lose the crappy fan and get Asus heatpipe cooling for the northbridge. The price difference is normally minimal enough where it justifies purchasing the Premium. I have built countless systems with that board and never had a single problem with it.
  22. OF COURSE it's only for backup purposes...hehhehehhe.

How much work did you do into setting up this internet cafe? I was extremely interested in starting one in the west suburbs (Downers Grove/Darien/Hinsdale) area where the per capita income is pretty much the highest it is in Illinois. I know some venture capitalists who liked the idea and told me to write up a proposal to present to their boss for evaluation. The cost of property alone is astronomical and I calculated a requirement somewhere in the neighborhood of 100k to get the place off the ground with computers and everything. Overall it just ended up being more trouble then it was worth at this point in my life. I have a lot of other business projects right now and everyone says your first business probably will not last so it seemed stupid to put myself at least $100,000 in debt over something I wasn't absolutely sure would succeed. In addition to that, internet cafe turnover rate is huge.
