I would recommend you get an account at somewhere like Vanguard. They have money market funds that get a few percent, and they can send you checks you can use to write directly from them to pay for stuff. The big advantage to this approach is you can transfer your money to and from different funds as well. If you don't have any real investments this would be a good risk-free way to get started with real financial planning and investment.

I used to work at a grocery store. Even if you're sure you'll never be back, in life it's never a good idea to burn any bridges you don't have to. I would recommend treating it as a normal day and leaving it at that.

Soooo, I got one grade back so far out of three. 4 credits of A+. Is it bad to say so? I'm just happy, that's all. I wish I had my other two grades too. I'm afraid of getting one of the two remaining ones, because I felt like I was gonna cry when taking the exam. I just kinda sat there for the first 10 minutes trying to collect myself and do it. It was evil I'm sure. Anyone care to say how he or she did?

Here's what I wanna know. What is spidy sense? I've seen spiders before, and they have NO special powers as far as I can tell. They don't even know when I'm about to whack them with a rolled up paper. Spidy sense to me looks pretty useless.

I would be careful moving in with a couple, because they are a unit and you are not a part of it. What if they will split and you'll need to fill an opening, or two openings? What if they want you gone? Do you think the open area will become their area? Regardless of how good friends you are, that kind of thing can get weird fast. I think same-sex housing is easier to deal with in general, unless you're married. Does rent include heat, A/C, water, hot water, gas? What about phone, cable, internet? Food, laundry, toiletries? Anything you might wanna buy ever? Do you own dishes, glasses, pans, trash cans, can openers, etc.? You say gas for your car, what about car insurance? Is your car paid for? Do you have savings for when something goes bad? For example, my tuition was bumped up like 40% last year, and I didn't plan for that. $500 for summer classes? My summer bill is like $2500, not including books. How much do they want for a security deposit? Is there a way to terminate the lease early? How long, like is it 9 month or 12 month? Do they require renters insurance? How late can you be loud at night? Do they have included laundry? Covered parking? Security? 24 hour repair? Allow pets? Do they review your credit with a non-refundable deposit? Does the complex have a good reputation? Know anyone who lives there?

I think what happens with cable is you connect to a node thingy, and if too many people are connected to the same one then it's gonna suck. sometimes these companies oversell, and there just isn't enough oompf for everyone to dl or even connect. if it works fine on off-peak hours and holidays, then that's probably it.
