yes, play WoW WoW is not a role playing game. It's a "run around and hack stuff up" game. And the OP mentioned the diablo series, which is just about as much "run around and hack stuff up" as you can get. WoW is a great game if you feel like putting in the time/effort at the high end to continue improving your character. Me? I'm waiting for the new pvp patch to change it away from the ranking system. Anyways, FF12 is good. The combat is semi-real-time. Every action has a set amount of time it takes to prepare it so it kind of feels turn based. But I don't know of any action-rpg that doesn't use a similar time=turn basis.

This is perhaps my biggest beef with the system. Why should those of us who start with the default money (800) be forced to pay the same as the people who start with 16000. We do not have the same buying habits as juiced servers and its a borked system that fails to take this into account. Its also the only conceivable way for the deagle to continue its astronomical rise. If I'm wrong, and valve has some measure in place so that they only take the stats given to them by default servers, let me know. I'd love to see it. As it is, it feels like we're getting screwed by people who just want to put more money in their servers.

I agree with Laz wholeheartedly. Its only fun to play with the different guns for so long. I relish scrimming just so that I can actually buy a deagle and expect to have money left over. Is it really really good? hell yah it is. As for the unbalancing aspect of this, IMO, its huge. It is so hard to mount a comeback as a TEAM with 1 or 2 people having enough money for a real gun every couple rounds. Sure, you can always pick one up from the winning team, but that implies you actually managed to spray them in the face with whatever SMG of choice you're using this round. As for ANY non pistol being available during the "pistol" round.... Well, that just doesn't sound fun to me. Will this prevent me from playing on west? No, I'll keep buying my SMG's and camping around some corner hoping to pick up a real weapon for as long as DWP is left on West.

That name mossinator sounds really familiar. I've been playing online semi-seriously for 4 or 5 years now. Wonder if we played against each other at some point. I'm usually using the name Bogatog or Stromgard.

I've used neteller for a long time. But they updated their eula to include a statement about not using their service if the activity you were engaging in was illegal in your area. Or something like that. I'm just paranoid about not being able to get my money back out of the site .

So fulltilt is all good still? If you don't mind my asking, what "service" do you use to get your money on and off the site?

I used to play on party too. I havn't tried any of the ones that still support us players. I'm too scared of winning and not being able to get my money out. Bodog should also still be accepting us players though.

It has been a week. Thats why the newly updated prices caused a more recent surge of anti-DWP posting. Last week, deagle was 1300, m4 was 3500, ak was 2600. I believe. Last week, I'd still buy those guns if I had saved enough for them since it was only a little more expensive than normal. This week, I buy nades, smgs, and AWPS. DWP has completely changed my buying habits. (Whether this is a good or bad thing, thats for everyone to decide for themselves.) I'm liking that I'm using other weapons, but in all reality, I could have done this before without feeling like I'm being forced into buying an mp5 every round. This only gets worse when your team is losing since the "good" weapons are so expensive only the winners can reasonably afford them on a consistent enough basis to make a difference in gameplay. Does all that mean I want DWP disabled immediately? No. I'm still willing to give it a chance for a week or so more until it gets completely and totally out of hand where you save up for a Deagle and pickup an AWP to back it up.

Looking at the weapons market page at valve, deagle is projected to be 3,800 next week. Thats just savage. I give it 1 more week and deagle will cost more than awps and we'll have mac10's and tmp's during the pistol rounds.

I wasn't talking about Sony buying people out so they can have more exclusives. I don't know the details for how exclusives get set up and its very likely there are huge sums of money involved. Whiles yes, it is something that doesn't exist in retail form yet, I don't think it boils down to complete conjecture. There hasn't been anything to backup your claims that we'll all have to pay a monthly fee for practically every online game. To be fair though, I admit this is a possibility. I really don't know how Sony is going to do all this stuff, I'm just trying to give them a fair shot at it.

Having not played with it yet, and since the new prices wont even get implemented until next week, I say leave it on. If it gets dumb, we can always turn it off. West btw.

I have no problem with you using facts to back up your opinions. I just don't like seeing arguments being made that have little or no factual backing for the sake of trying to make something not be successful. But hey, its a forum and everyone can post however they want. So go for it.

The .gc TWL team has practice tonight I think. So it might be hard to attend this tryout/practice. I'll be on TS one way or another though. Hopefully I can attend.

I'm interested. I have no problem with the rules as they are laid out. The only thing that might hinder me is practice every night. My job has a tendency to be very possesive of my time when crunch time for a project hits. Its not like that year round, but often enough that I feel it necessary to inform you. Also, the whole skill part might keep me back. Let me know if I'm good enough and if the occasional periods of time where I have to miss practice due to work is ok. Thanks

Unfortunately, I don't know where to find an actual statement from Sony. Everywhere I've looked is full of rumors and propaganda either for or against sony. Its been very difficult to find facts.
