I'm trying for a workable remote desktop for my office. I bought the software from www.realvnc.com and it works. However, there's an issue with the resolution, my office has a 1920x1050 (ish) display, and home is 1280x1024. So the scaling and the like isn't as nice as Windows Remote Desktop, but that's not secure. Anyway, looking for a solution/suggestion of what others are doing. I'd like it if a router existed that you could securely remotely connect to and then it be as if you're connected into the LAN at the office directly, without any software. I'm guessing this exists, just not sure the terminology. The other question is suggestions for a desktop build. Last computer I built was 4 years ago. Things have changed a bit. I'm guessing just about anything will do, but I do have an HDTV tuner and a 21" monitor that I'd like to work. And, yeah, I'm still alive and will be at FF08. My practice has just taken off quite a bit.

Pretty much just figured out I'm able to come at least a couple of days to FF this year. Haven't checked on room availability yet, but wondered if anyone had some spare room first. I might be there Thursday night, definitely Friday, and maybe Saturday. Trying to work out the schedule for my son's birthday party Sunday. Anyway, if someone's got a room with spare space, let me know. Preferably not a "party" room btw. Looking forward to seeing everyone this year, and to the break, everything has been a bit busy for me lately.

I can't really comment on that monitor's specs (I bought a samsung from newegg after reading some reviews on them), but for me it was like stepping from analog tv to HDTV. Just the clarity of the screen was worth it. And the more I work on my widescreen laptop, the more I wish I'd gone widescreen with an LCD for the desktop. The attorney's office right next to mine uses 2 19" widescreens in each office, one normal and the other turned 90 degrees for document prep. It's pretty impressive (They have like 6 people set up like this, and 3 others with just dual regular 17" LCDs).

Seems to be about a 4-5 day cycle. Fever is gone from my daughter now, but the wife still isn't over it but starting to get better.

By choice. Wife and 3 month old daughter caught the Flu and it's the nasty. Took my son out to dinner and to Walmart for 2 big tubes of disinfectant wipes just to keep him away too.

I have a set of rabbit ears that I got back in about 1992 or 1993 connected to my TV now and get all the local stations in HD just fine with them. I find myself watching HD over the air more, as the cable company is severely lacking in affordable HD atm (ABC and Fox aren't even available, the cable company gave me a set of rabbit ears to pick these up :/ ) Sports look great in HD. 24 was also nice to watch in HD. Now to smack the tv makers for not being able to stretch 4:3 digital images.

The wife and I got this one: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5018761 from hhgregg for $1175. After her gift cards from work, we paid $175 for it and I'm happy with it. Great for watching football and basketball. Only been able to watch HD with a set of rabbit ears so far, but the picture is amazing. Supposed to get an HD box from the cable company tomorrow. We've had it since last Sunday and I can't say I have a single complaint so far.

She does have a sister actually...lol...but she's 21 So you're saying she's legal. I don't see the "but" as appropriate.

It's T1's ban, he can decide cause he was there. My suggestion of what I'd do doesn't necessarily mean that's what it is. We just want to make sure this kinda stuff doesn't happen again.

Looks to be a good ban from the other thread. I don't sense any resolution so far. You weren't banned b/c you couldn't mute him. Saying that you won't talk to him any more doesn't mean a hill of beans really. Just seems the same might happen with someone else. There was an admin there. If there were problems, you should of just let him know.

Just for a little more, so you know what we're looking at: That's the map starting and the TK and "sorry". This is the first round. That's a couple minutes later showing Cowboy not condoning the scoped weapons, and responding to the TAs from Goku. So a full 2 minutes later he was going on about the TK. This was the 3rd round. Both agreed it happened on Nuke, which the logs show also:

Cowboy's been around a long time (prolly 3 years or more). So he's not some random pubber. The TK happened right after Goku killed an opposite team member, and was immediately followed by a "sorry" from Cowboy. It doesn't appear to be a spawn TK at all. This happened in the pistol round right at the start of the map.

Just FYI, this is still a current topic in the board room. And ultimately that decides whether and what ban will be imposed (if any of course). We have to be stern to keep the servers as they are. So we try to get everyone's side. The problem is that what you've put forth isn't meshing with the logs that well. Even what you've posted here isn't fully accurate (Now don't jump on this, as it was readily apparent you were tired and may not remember it exactly). No board member was there, so we take what we have. Cowboy wasn't the only complainant here, and honestly, he didn't want this to turn into something negative.

Are you missing mani? or ptbx? What exactly is missing that people want/liked? We've at least got BAT to ease admining for the time being. But it makes me wonder whether BAT isn't the way to go. It's very simple, no bells and whistles. Just admin and reserves. Not really prone to valve update bugs.

I've added the newest DM and BAT on there. Seems to be working fine. Everyone in GC has admin there ATM. The command to bring up the admin menu is admin_menu. You can bind it, as I do, with something like "bind p admin_menu" in console. Have fun and report back.
