Possibly it's the impact of the greatest single invention ever to grace the earth, that one idea that was sure to bring food to millions and promote world peace, the one and only.... STEAM!!!
  2. There are two maps i havent played in many a day: cs_italy and as_oilrig. The last time i played as_oilrig was when my fellow oilrig fan TF | Hambone left CS. Why doesn't anyone play Italy anymore?
  3. I've been trying to get onto a server from Steam all night, I have 1.6 installed and everything but when I try to join, it freezes when the console says "Validating game resources..." and it does not seem to be able to get passed that. Has anyone else had this problem?
  4. Steam is a Server/Patch/Download database slapped into one program, which is in my opinion why it has so much problems, all the Valve products are sucking programs and patches from the master server while it is trying to keep track of all those game servers. You could almost think of Steam as the hub in a wheel, but if you put too much weight on the wagon, somethings gonna break
  5. Okay, anyone know what UserId is based on? I know that WONid was based on the CDkey, but what is UserId based on? I tried to get on Mantis earlier and it says that my UserId is in use, now either someone has stolen my CDkey, which hasnt happened in the two years I've played CS, or something about my account has made a UserId identical to someone's in Mantis. Any ideas?
  6. Nope, WON is shutting down, that means that the WONid dependancy of beta - 1.5 is over. If you try to use 1.5, then you get a "LAN server can only be accessed by a Local client" type message, which means that 1.5 isn't even recongnized as a valid format... Goodbye 1.5 and hello Steam
  7. Not only 1.6, but every thing that Valve releases (e.g. Half Life 2, CS:CZ, CS 2, etc.), so unless Steam starts sucking less than it does now, we are stuck with a piece of crap.
  8. That means Tropolis is no longer version 1.5, you have to have steam now to play on it... So download Steam and get 1.6, there's no turning back now!
  9. No, its not true, its just a bunch of hackers trying to keep Steam off the market because of its "ever-changing" source code that makes it impossible for hackers to hack.
  10. Yeah, that's true. I get yelled at for blocking the doorway, while im being blocked from unblocking the doorway. Scoutzknivez is just too small for so many people.
  11. If you participate in CAL you have to reinstall CS because everything has to be default, mainly the models and cfg, but i believe you can have buy scripts
  12. NOOOOOO!!!!! The only reason I dont play the MMORPGs like EverQuest is because they charge a monthly fee, I would never pay it To companies that charge a monthly fee: Screw you guys, I'm going home...
  13. IF you just yahoo search "Star Wars Kid" you'll find thousands of pages of this kid... It's like finding an elephant in a haystack
  14. I just upgraded for Unreal2 and HL2... $500 My system is a P4 2.6 Ghz 1 GB Ram Radeon 9800 Pro 128 Mb 120 GB HD So, the only thing holding me back from enjoying a game online is my stupid wireless router.... Linksys must pay!
  15. Who would have thought the game of Counter-Strike could spark a discussion on the human psyche? Boo to all those people who say video games are the devil, many debates arise that rival those done in a professional debate. Just want to say that I am impressed with the thought that goes into making this community stronger and more respectful towards those who matter, the members of the community.
  16. Well, I for one have not noticed the decline because it is I who sits for 10 minutes waiting for the someone to leave the server so I can get on... The server is popular, and that fact is seen as you try to log on to the good ole 20\21 and you are unable to get on. If it was really in a decline, then why would the server be full every night? I for one have found no server as hospitable and bearable as the Mmmm server... Kudos to Mmmm...
  17. Yeah I was playing on your server with Bigshaw and Muffin Man (on opposite team) and this guy named BlinK. He was being a jerk, but I didnt mind until he started tking and attacking me at the start of every round, or just attacking me so I would die in one hit. Bigshaw can back me up on this because me and him switched and he was also tked by this guy. Anyway, he said he didn't care if he were banned and he wasn't scared by the threat of banning, so I think its okay if hes banned. Name: BlinK (aka TKing dum-dum) Wonid: 2743138
  18. Yeah I just found out that my mom can get me a Dell through Arby's (she works at the executive office for the president of the company) with a special plan that allows me to take out all I dont need, like a moniter which I already have two (thats why you dont see it), keyboard, mouse, etc, plus I can get up to 2.0 ghz for 200 LESS than on the standard dell site. The reason I added the Geforce is because only with that can I get the souped up DVD-ROM (even though I already have a Geforce four, I think I'll put it in Keeb's comp). It is only $20 for the card, which is pretty good. And as for XP, I hate that OS but unfortunately it comes with the plan. And to Gond: Since the two year warranty is only $30

  20. Well unfortunately, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed. I let a too good to be true offer from a crappy company eat the guts out of my bank account, and now I regret it! P.S. By the way, my power supply didnt just fail, it surged and fried the components of my computer. I would have to buy the whole computer over again to fix it.
