  1. Great dedication to the show "Lost." An abomination of a map for those who just want to play cs without all the weird additions like the invisible smoke dyno. The map is too large and one of the bomb sites was already bombed in order to get into it to begin with. Fun for the first 5 minutes I played it. Should be a custom night type of map only, not on a regular rotation.
  2. I like it. Small and fun. Requires lots of teamwork for the CT to keep the T out of the warehouse. I like it.
  3. I read some of the customer stories on that site and my conclusion is that most people are stupid. Do not buy a 1000 dollar TV and then blame Best Buy 3 years later when it stops working and you did not buy an extended warranty. It doesn't matter if you think that you should not need to. How about the kid who obviously lied to his mother about opening a sealed hard drive box and finding an older and different brand hard drive in it instead. Sorry, if it is sealed and says Seagate, it will not have a Western Digital hard drive in it. If it was NOT sealed when you bought it, then you should have looked before leaving the store. I am not defending Best Buy but those "I hate blahblah" or "blahblahsux.org" types of sites are dumb.

  5. I would create a poll if I could but I cannot so here you are with just something to read. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headli...ro/4766843.html Do you think he should be disciplined for doing this? I honestly expect a map to be made after VT and possibly Norris Hall by someone one of these days.
  6. I plan to see it Friday morn as a co-worker trip but may have to go Sat if work prevents me (problems, etc)
  7. Yes, the first Ultra in many years from nvidia. It costs $830 US which is ridiculous considering the slim performance increase over the GTX and basically on par with the overclocked GTX cards that sell for around $600 bucks. There are reviews at HardOCP and Anandtech and some other sites. The reviews are interesting in that they tell us about alternative GTX cards that are overclocked and cost hundreds less and are on par with the Ultra. That may be the way I go if the ATI HD2900XTX sucks it up hard in cost and performance. I will miss my video encoder though. Oh yeah, some of the reviews: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2979 http://www.techreport.com/reviews/2007q2/g...ra/index.x?pg=1 http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html...W50aHVzaWFzdA== http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/nvidia...rce_8800_ultra/
  8. A couple of those maps are not even playable in the traditional sense that is cs. Lost2 is a cool looking map and a great dedication to the show "Lost." I love the show and the map is cool but that map just isn't fun. I can see playing it once in a while and on custom map nights, but not as often as it is being played now. I would rather see nightfever as a regular map since it is a more traditional stype of map without all the weird effects and what not. Season, Rotterdam and Siena are more traditional without all the wierdness and they are more preferable regular maps IMO. I ask that you put Nuke back on the rotation and NightFever as well... please!
  9. I am not the type to file a complaint on someone else's behalf because no matter what is said, there is always another side of the story. I am not saying I do not believe your friend because I do. I do not know Charlie and can not file a false complaint against someone that I do not know.
  10. The student is at fault. He also broke the law by breaking into the teacher's computer. I am all for his punishment and the charges.
  11. I think what Norg is trying to say is that the server can be full because it is on Dust2 or Aztec and then De_rush comes on and it turns into a 3 vs 3 game. That sucks.
  12. The most interesting one to me is the second one under the "FLOPS Comparison" section. Compare what a video card can do in comparison to a high end dual-core CPU. (Please keep in mind they do different things). http://www.forum-3dcenter.org/vbulletin/sh...565#post5449565

  14. I found this article so very interesting. I did not know this until I came across this on drudge: http://www.nypost.com/seven/04292007/tv/di...il_mushnick.htm

  16. That site has shown me to be garbage. They are doing something wrong to have a card that is faster with memory and core and it runs slower than the same exact card but at slower speeds. They then tell us the card is doomed when their review is obviously flawed from top to bottom without telling us what settings they are using and without running the system after a higher resolution. They are also comparing the card to an overclocked Nvidia card. That site has shown me to be junk. With that said, Nvidia's card may be faster but I want REAL reviews to come out before I make a decision on what to buy next month. I may end up with an Nvidia card.
  17. I don't know... Arnold has quite a few himself.
  18. I see that you figured it out Lunk. I realized as I was leaving out my door to a meeting that I have the same exact switch and there is nothing special about it; there is no need to program the switch as it is not that kind of switch. You had to renew your IP because the switch between the D-link and the built in switch in the router operate based on MAC addresses. Renewing your IP told the switch that you were there and it could function properly.
  19. Well that explains things; you have a switch that is a little more "involved" than your average BestBuy 8 port switch. Let me look it up and get back to you.
  20. Can you provide a little bit more detail Lunk? I take it some of your PC's can get online because you are online now posting. Is the problem only those that are connected through the switch? If so, does the problem persist if you then put these PC's on the router instead? Have you tried rebooting the PC's and possibly even the router and switch? Just remove the power, count to 20 and plug them back in. If it is only one PC, have you tried a different port in the switch? These are just some ideas but without more information, I am not quite sure where to go beyond what I posted above.
  21. They added the HD in front of the new card model numbers. With HD will come the understanding that they are new and "High Def".
  22. The way I see it Cujo is that I will start off with nothing but the CPU minorly overclocked and later when I want more performance or what not, I will boost the Memory. From the review at Anandtech, the boost in bandwidth does improve performance but not by much; it is something like 5 fps from the worst RAM they had to the best at the time which was the 1066.
  23. I would typically chose the G-Skill as well but the Geil has better timings and seems to be very overclockable. I've had Geil before and it worked great. It is a little more than the $110 per g-gig pack from one of the other links but may be better worth my money in the long run.
