Ok so I'm getting the parts for my new case. One of which is a Fanmaster fan controler. It also has with it 4 temp monitors. I've never played with these things before. I really don't have anyidea how and where to place them. When I say where I mean specificly. It suggestss cpu hdd case and psu. Both my harddrives have sensors on them wich read out the temp in speedfan. I'd like to know what kinda temps my vidcard (9800pro) is running at. But I don't have the foggest on where to put the sensor. Likewise my mobo has a sensor for the cpu. I've heard however that these are only so accurate and that the actualy temp sensors are much better. So I know you can place then sensor between the fins, but how accurate is that? Your fan is blowing right on it. The other question is what you use to make them stick. I'm assuming there is some kind of termal paste or tape I can get somewhere. Lastly any of you outthere have sensors. If so where do ya stick them?

I can tell ya what he's got here. He's got a cheftec case with to intakes (80mm) two outtakes(80mm) one on the side blowing in(80mm) and a blowhole blowing out(80mm) Heatsink is nothing fancy. IMO all he needs is some artic silver (we used whatever came on it) and possible a little stronger fan.

played cs for 45 min with no problems....this could be a very good thing.

Right as long as you have enough to good flow through you case then no probs. besides just cuz a case has places for fans dosn't mean you have to put them there. The only thing I care about a case having is 2 in front two in back and a blow hole. Anything else is just gravy.

Fox I was OC my old my processer now that I got a 2.08 there is not need to OC. So no acutaly I'm not OC at all. and as far as PSU goes. If 500 watts isn't enought I'm not sure what is. On a side note I ran one the above memory tests to see If I got any errors. First time through it found 11 errors (they were nto however the ECC or whatever erros) I let this program run allnight and I'm guessing it just runs the same tests over and over. I ran some 35 or so tests in around 9 hours and found some 530 some errors. I just turned it off after this point. *oops I missed the part where is says if you get and error stop the test and go adjust the vdimm voltage...me go do that now

Well I just tryed to play cs. After HL crashign twice (play 5 min crash play 10 min crash) about 5 min later my computer flashes up some blue screen of death that says something about shuting down to prevent damage to my computer and then it restarted. My cpu temp at the time (according to speedfan) was 48C. What the heck is going on????

First off it blow up toward you vid card. (not to mention that PCI slots are near the bottom of a case..blowing down would just be dumb) As for noise...I have two fan controlers as well as one for my fan on my heat sink. I decide how much noise it makes AHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA on a side note that PCI fan also has a fan controler that comes with it

Most cases don't have holes in the front. They suck from the bottom. Thats why you have case feet. Note that most likely there is a way for air to get from bottom of front of case into the inside. If yoru that worried about air flow you could get a new case. This one here is only 44 bucks and has room for 5 80mm in front 2 in back one on top and one on side for a total of 9 80mm fans. Don't look too bad either here be easy to see pic This is what I have now but I got a new case on the way so I can do some modding to it hehehe

see thats the funny thing with mine. I've got 8 fans cranken (4 in 4 out) along with two on my PSU. Air flow in my case is not the problem. My train of though was maybe the heatsink is just not doing it's job well enough. I was thinking something like this fan would help things out if it were actualy the vid card overheating......

or you could try one of these I think I may be getting one to see if thats my problem with games crashing

For whatever reason all my games seem to be crashing after about 20 min of play. So I'm guessing somethings overheating but i'm not sure what. My cpu (xp 2700+) runs at about 45 under full stress my case temp is in the 70s. The only thing a I can assume is my vid card is overheating. It's a stock 9800pro with stock heatsink. It's not a great heatsink or anything but I don't have it overclocked either. I don't know why it would be overheating. The only other option I can think of is some problem with my ram. but I'm not really sure if ram would/could cause such a problem. CS, Halo, and Farcry, and unreal, have all been crashing

are you guessing at your fps, or is there some way to monitor it..or do ya use a program to monitor it?

Ya sorry about that I was trying to leave and was typing fast so lets try this agiain aquamark 38935 what it was before 35042 GFX 5409 GFX 5007 CPU 6941 CPU 5834 PCmark04 3692 what it was before 3119 3dMark04 5678 what it was before 5461 the thing that gets me is Is I still can't play farcry at any better than 1024x768 with med settings. As soon as I turn it up to high it lags like crazy. The only thing left is ram. I've got 512 now (some off brand) but I really though this would be enough to make a differnce. Can't think of anything else though

Well my new processer came in today. It's a XP 2800+ Barton (My old one was a XP 1800 OC to run at 1 .7 instead of 1.5. I was hoping this would solve some of my problems with not being able to run games as well as I liked. So here are the new Marks. Ok new marks coming I'm a dum-dum and I had the FSB set at 133 instead of 166. new marks aqumark"typo here" GFX 5409 CPU 6941 3dMark 5678
