  1. As I'm looking at the Snapgear and Sonicwall appliances, I'm not sure which would best benefit our company. I'm looking at the Snapgear SG530 and the Sonicwall TZ170, and I'm not really sure which is best for us. It seems like the Snapgear is more for companies with satelite offices, but we're the only people who are needing to get connected, so we won't be using the VPN really. Then again, the Snapgear is about $150 less than the Sonicwall. What would you gents recommend?
  2. When Hobgoblin comes, he brings Carnage with him. Harry = Hobgoblin, as far as the comics go. He has to die first, though.
  3. I thought it was overall better than the first. However, the villian isn't nearly as cool. And this one seemed to be much more dedicated to story/character development than just fighting. But I guess that's partly due to the fact that a good chunk of the first one was used to explain how he became spiderman. But yeah, the last 30 minutes were really what the movie was all about.
  4. Alright, some good feedback here. I forgot to mention we're on DSL and using a D-Link 24 port switch. I'll look into the snapgear ASAP. I was actually looking at SonicWall earlier today, but most of the ones I saw were over a grand. After checking anandtech and tom's, I haven't found any good appliance firewall reviews/comparisons anywhere. So I guess I'll just have to compare what I find as I go. Thanks for all the help guys.
  5. I'm working for a small kitchen design business, and while their computers aren't really at risk from hacking, they do download a lot of stupid crap, since the only thing they really know how to use is AutoCAD. Anyway, myself and one other guy are the system administrators for the company, with about 20 stations. We're currently trying to find the best firewall protection for us at an affordable price. We're really not looking to spend much more than 500 bucks. I looked into a couple hardware firewalls, but they were mostly over 1000-1500 dollars. I don't know what the easiest way to get protection for the whole office is, so any suggestions would be appreciated. We aren't really too worried about special features like VPN or anything, just something that'll hide us from the rest of the world and scan all incoming traffic. Is there any easy answer for this, or do we really need to get more serious about this and think about spending more money? Thanks in advance.
  6. Whoa! I've always been using Firebird, so I just thought that's how it was. I loaded it up in IE, wow! Huge difference. I also like the way it looks in Firebird better.

    Gemstone 4

Used to play the GS3 spin-off, DragonRealms...before they started charging. I also played a little GS3 after that. But I just couldn't justify paying for it.
  8. Your above idea could execute well. Playing dumb is the best way for now, just tell her that you talked with your lawyer and he advised you use a more reputable escrow service like escrow.com. Once she disagrees, send all your info/emails to autotrader.
  9. Eh, Jane...that's not so new. I've had that card for a couple months now. It came out at the same time as the 9800XT.

Yeah Trouble, I was as suprised as you were at the price. I told my friends as we were walking in that I was never going to see a movie in-theaters again. Anyhow, I'd probably give it a 9 out of 10, it was just that good. The acting was pretty good, the story was excellent, and the action was intense. Especially the 1 on 1 fight in the movie (you all know what I'm talking about...no spoilers). White: Notice how many Braveheart characters were in this movie? It's like they recruited half the cast for this. I guess they do a good job at this type of war/action movie.

    Troy

Was absolutely excellent. Well worth the ridiculous $9.50 ticket price.
  12. I could probably do that fairly easily. I'm not promising anything. But I'll take a stab at it later tonight.
  13. I haven't seen this scene, but if it's not too large, it should be feasible with relative ease. Why don't you host it and link us, so I can give you a definite yes/no answer.

    Amazing video...

Hahah, Shok with his elbow techniques are hilarious. His arms just flailing around. Good stuff though, very cool.
  15. Excellent movie. #3 should be an interesting movie... 15 years from now.
  16. hahah Homer, such a martyr. There should be some sort of banner or some sort of questionaire for this board so that before you can post, it forces you to specify what type of post it'll be, and then directs you to sites like TH and Newegg before you can post.
  17. You have your vsync to default off, make it "always off." I think that may help you.

  19. Why don't you just filter her box from getting internet? She could still access the network, but the router would prevent her from using the net. Unless she needs it for work purposes, of course.
  20. I used to have to do something similar to this from time to time on my old machine. For some reason my desktop icons would disappear and even after reboots, not come back. All I had to do was run a new explorer.exe task and it fixed it up perfectly. My other friend's old computer had some virus on there than disabled him from running any programs from his shortcuts and menus. So he essentially had to run all of his programs from the task manager. Talk about a pain in the behind...
  21. I agree. I just recently started playing CS again, this week, actually. It's been well over 6 months since I stopped playing, and I've gotten a new box in that downtime. My lack of playing coupled with my new mouse/keyboard have really driven my play to the dirt. However, I've never had so much fun sucking at CS. I have Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and UT2K4, but they don't touch CS in my mind. In fact, I kinda wish I hadn't bought them. All in all, if you have the time, and it's fun for you, play the game. No reason to stick around in a game you're not enjoying. This prolonged break from CS made it seem like a new game now. If you quit playing, chances are you'll pick it up again sometime. Life's too stressful to not have fun when you're playing games.
  22. If you want to make it secondary, I would probably slave it and put the new one in there and install whatever OS you choose. If you put XP on there, when you're done installing, you can boot up the disk manager and format the secondary drive right from there. That's the easiest and most effective way I would do it. Plus, you can grab any stuff off of it you want before you format it, which could probably save you some time later.
  23. Sounds like your config is read only. Go to your CS directory and find your config, then right click it and go to properties. There's a box at the bottom of that window that says "Read-Only." If that box is checked, uncheck it. That should alleviate your problem so that the setting stays after you quit CS.
  24. I definitely agree that Adaptec did really screw the pooch with their releases, but this Roxio version seems decent enough. And like I said, I only use it for ISO burning, so I can clean off my HDs. For everything else I use Nero, cause I prefer it over Roxio's lack of customization options for most of their DVD burning. I'd say that Roxio's version is probably designed to be DVD burning for idiots.
  25. A month or 2 ago when I got my DVD burner and the latest release of Nero 6.xx, the program wasn't the greatest for DVD burning. If all you want to burn is movies, then you should be fine, but it would always generate errors when you tried to burn ISO DVDs. After researching it back then, I found that this problem was very common, and many people recommended programs like Roxio easy CD/DVD creator and a few others. I personally use the Easy CD/DVD for all of my ISO disks, and Nero for most everything else. So, unless they corrected this problem in the last month or so, be prepared to deal with this problem.
