  5. I've played it on 10 v 10 before. It's bonkers.
  6. Just played through it in single player mode for the first time in over a year. It is so much fun.
  7. Another problem is custom campaigns often have updates. So even if you get a lot of people to DL it, if the map is updated, everyone has to DL again. Really makes it quite difficult to implement smoothly. Although I'm not familiar with adding customs from the workshop, do they auto update?
  8. Not into Survival at all. Think it's super boring, that's just my opinion however. Death Woods is pretty good imo, as is Diescraper Redux. Some insane choke points in that one, would be a lot of fun. But you'll really have to spam people to DL these. I was admin on another 10 v 10 that did custom campaigns. No matter how much we told people to DL or they'd get booted, it didn't seem to work. And I honestly think that is one of the main reasons the server ended up floundering. Every map change into that, 4-6 people stay, everyone else booted. And the inevitable 10 minute wait for people to DL. Also kills things at night when more foreign players are on. I think few of them even speak english. I've yet to see a server ever use customs in its rotation sucessfully. But if you do it, I'd only add 1.
  9. Make the tourney 4 v 4. A lot easier to get 8 people to agree on a time than 16. Also makes room for more trash talking, bragging, etc.

  11. I didn't mean it was a confusing option. Few of the mod upgrades are confusing. I meant that it's a further deviation away from the mostly vanilla style 10 v 10 that GC runs, which is something I really like. If you want a crazy server with sped up chargers, and smokers that can walk backwards with survivors and hyper fast spawn times, there are dozens of options out there. In any case, Dude is right, if it doesn't work out, it can be taken away. I just dislike seeing such an awesome server take steps towards what I see other 10 v 10's doing. The simplicity of the server is what makes it so much fun imo.

    Pro tips

    Once you're ensnared, that's it, changing weapons or anything else won't help. Best advice is the instant you are getting smoked, go for a headshot. If you're on a shotgun, wait to the very last second to shoot, as the closer you are, the more likely you are to frag.
  13. this! game is more fluid without all the sp/np stuff. and much more challenging. everyone was looking for a way to make things more challenging for survivors. why not keep this?
  14. I thought GC was all about keeping things on the server simple. Seems like a step in the wrong direction. I've played on several 10 v 10 servers that had the reduced spawn timer option. It's the first thing every team buys. Except the better teams buy it quicker as they amass points faster. The end result is a larger gap between more skilled teams and lesser skilled ones, and a feeling of teams being "stacked" more frequently.
  15. I honestly think simply the nerfed AK has made a good impact. No one want to use it anymore. More players going to Assault Rifle or one of the snipers. Up the fireworks/gascan to 5 and I think we're good to go.
  16. Since so much talk has been on nerfing things lately, why not limit defibs, the way we limit personal revives. Like, max 8 defibs per round or something.
  17. Eh, I think changing the fire rate is a bad idea. If you're nerfing a gun, changing the dmg is enough. Changing the fire rate will just make it awkward to play with.
  18. Yeah, there would be a lot of fighting over the weapons. De-lasering the server would nerf things a little bit. Probably a better route.
