  1. Thanks! I found a forum yesterday ( Google) that had the unlock info in it. You would think that if they didn't want people getting to use them, they simply would have removed them from the demo... But oh well. Anyone have any secrets on "Being a Successful Pilot?" I suck at flying. I can get the jets to wherever I need to go, possibly drop bombs that really don't hit anything and then parachute. With the heli's I can crash really well. I have seen some of these people that can bring the jets and copters back to the carrier to land for repairs. I guess I don't know the secret of being a good pilot yet. Someone help me out!
  2. ACTUALLY... New York does have the cleanest water since they are the first outlet from the source. I want to say Fort Collins, CO is like number 2 only because there is one outlet before them. Their water tastes darn good too! I would believe that St. Louis is one of the dirtiest cities. ESPECIALLY if you count in the immediate out lying regions!
  3. Good to know! I found an "unlocked" server with a few people on it earlier and got to test the .50 cal sniper rifle. Can you say one shot kills? I am definitly thinking classes are going to have to be controlled as to the number of each. Either that or this game will become sniper wars very very quickly.
  4. Was going to comment on a lot of the negative reviews of BF2, but I know everyone has their own opinion and such. I guess I wasn't going into the game expecting to run full speed all the time 10x faster than normal. But I have played other BF games, so I knew what to expect, I guess. As far as the video card discussion goes - This game was built with Nvidia cards claiming "The way it's supposed to be played!" But their slightly older cards won't even handle it? My ATI 9600XT runs the thing perfectly. No slowdowns at all. It is more refined than BF:V, and runs better than CS:S for me. I don't know if I will really go back to playing CS with this coming out. I really enjoy the giant maps and free roaming. Now if only everybody could figure out that blue=teammate... The demo is glitchy in places. But it is a demo... Not a finished, packaged product. The real test will be when people are buying the game. Even then it won't be "perfect" and will require patches...
  5. Try it out if you get a chance Voodoo. I know things will go through the empty areas of the helicopter (open doors, etc.) but I am not sure about the windshield. Game is pretty cool at any rate.
  6. I am sure you can blow them up with small arms. I have not tested how many rounds it takes or anything. But where as I could pretty easily take down a heli with a heavy machine gun in BF:V, I have not succeeded in taking one down with quite a few rounds in BF2. The info I was going off of for not being able to shoot the pilots is the fact that I attempted to shoot someone in a jet before they took off, basically point blank. Will be nice to actually see these things happen in action. Game is fun none the less though!
  7. I have noticed that specific weapons are made just for specific purposes. Small arms will not take down a helicopter anymore (they would eventually take one down in BF:V), which I think is a large mistake. You still can't hit the pilots of planes or helicopters. The heli's will come down easier than in BF:V though, with the right weapon, which is a good thing. 4 rockets to a hovering heli was ridiculous to say the least. My main interest is still in what will be unlocked with the stats, and how they are going to manage all of the stats. I will have to talk my way into getting a copy of the full game. Best Buy is showing the DVD versions release as being tomorrow.
  8. DON'T DL the ZIP FILE! It didnt work at all for me. It would DL like 30 mb and quit. Get the EXE file. Works like a charm! GL

Be extra careful? I caught a MEC guy trying to repair their artillery, so I quickly tossed 2 charges right at the base. He noticed what I was doing and stood up, pulled out his gun to shoot me. Natural instinct took over! I wasn't going to be shot by this lowly engineer. So I blew him, the artillery, and myself up before he could get a shot off. This isn't the only time I have suicided to get a kill, and prevent the other guy from killing me. It's a usual tactic I rely on. We need to find a server and all jump on it sometime. That way we can form our own squad. Oh, and watch out for that giant crane. Airplanes can't fly through it!

Heh. I had to remind some guy what team he was on. We were MEC, and he kept blowing up our artillery. Then I would have to run over and freaking fix it again. He finally killed me in his attempt to destroy it and realized what was going on. The red/blue thing really threw me off too. But I guess it makes more since to have hostiles as being red at all times. I love the bullet delay when sniping! You fire on someone half way across the map and a second or 2 later it says you killed them. The medic class being able to revive is pretty neat as well. Kind of disorients you when you are 2 seconds away from respawn and you just pop back into the game. I really will be interested to see how well the stat keeping goes and what all you can earn from getting points for different classes. I noticed I was getting engineering points while fixing the above mentioned artillery. I can also see people joining servers just to gain points by doing the above mentioned as well... Kind of like the Warcraft3 DoD servers with the flag capturing parties.
  11. I've got a little black cat to donate for that experiment! I love he points out that drugs are one of the only habits he never "Fully" developed. Just say no Goot! Unless it's too good of an offer to pass up...

This game is pretty freakin cool! I never knew one map could keep me entertained for so long! The guns are great, and will be even better once the upgrades start coming. I can't wait to see a .50 cal sniper rifle knocking people down. The helicopters do actually go down fairly easily now, which is a big plus over BF:V. I still feel that small arms fire should be able to take down a heli, if not even a low flying jet, pretty easily as well. But I guess that would make it harder on the pilots... Overall the game seems pretty balanced. Team play is an absolute must! I haven't really learned the squad system, but it seems pretty cool. I like how they actually have a set spawn for each team that is not capturable. Being able to repair destroyed structers is pretty cool too. Overall I must say, I may have to find a way to pick this one up. It runs pretty nicely even on my slightly outdated machine.
  13. Politicians and, more importantly, cops make and interpret the laws. I got a parking ticket for parking 10 feet behind the "no parking" sign and area of curb that it was marking off. If you can see that speed limit sign, you should be going that speed or accelerating to the posted speed. I live in "We have nothing better to do than pull you over" ville. We have a road that the speed limit changes from 45-30 for no good reason other than it is right in front of what used to be the police station. We also have roads that the speed limit changes more times in 5 miles than I change my underwear in week. As far as the radar detector is concerned, I wouldn't spend the money on another. 9 times out of 10, by the time it is going off, you are either caught or will be caught before you can slow down to the speed limit. Keep your eyes open, and remember where radar is setup on your normal routes. My best advice. And watch your rear view mirror when going 95 mph
  14. What the heck?!?! Fileshack just went from a 16 minute wait for me to a 194 minute wait.. Thought I had a spot that I was actually going to get it in a short time. GRRR Must be a lot of subscribers downloading since I was just pushed back AGAIN to 209 minutes. Will just wait to 1-2 am to get it since I am leaving shortly anyhow.
  15. Cardomain has grown A LOT since I first started visiting it. Now they have shops and stuff off of it. My Cardomain page. My former bike... I will be back with a new one soon enough! The green/black Ninja 250 was sold, and the Blue/silver ZX-6 was stolen.
  16. Bush, thats a nice rifle! Hope someday to have the land to shoot on when I want, and a nice collection to shoot, including a nice replica M1 Garand. Too expensive and too far inside city limits as of now!
  17. Someone give ZD the grand prize! de_silo? de_rotterdam? as_highrise? Come on people! Bring back the goodness! as_oilrig was the baddest of the maps when people actually worked together. Lots of team work to keep the VIP alive. "Protect the VIP team!"
  18. Looks cool! I really hope they fixed helicopters being able to survive 3-4 missle hits... That really made me mad in BF:V. They are like super duper impossibly armored.
  19. TF2 has been rumored for a LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG time in typical Valve fashion. Considering we don't even have screenshots for a TF2:Source build, I doubt they are anywhere near done. Think about DoD:S. We have had screenshots of it for how long now... And still, no game to play! They will probably have HL3 and a new engine designed by the time they decide to finish DoD:S.

I posted this up in the custom maps forum. Someone needs to get cracking on a Source remake! I got the music if anyone needs it! That map was beautiful. May have to go back to regular old cs and find a server playing it!
  21. Yea for post count padding!
  22. Yeah.. What he said!
  23. Here's what you need Yo... 2005 Anti Theft Devices (Language, violence alert) Thieves should be shot on site. You work hard for your property and they just wreck it or take it. Death to thieves!
