  1. Remote is incredible for controlling your iTunes remotely. The only reason I don't use it always is that I have a laptop...so it's always right with me anyway. Yelp is one I just installed because I love finding new restaurants. It's at least a 4-star app for me. Evernote is amazing for keeping track of things you need to do (though it has no "due date") Monkey Ball is fun, but not that amazing. To be honest I prefer playing Cube Runner a free app with crappy graphics but users can create custom maps for it.
  2. If you can restore it from a backup version you don't need activation servers.
  3. Completely silly but awesome. There is an app called World 9 under Games. It's free. All it does is use the accelerometer to make Mario's jumping sound effect. So you put it in your pocket and run down a hallway and you sound like Mario. Completely pointless and yet oh-so-awesome.
  4. So the next weird thing is with the App Store. I have been downloading apps directly to the iphone. The first time I hooked it up it put the two apps I had in the Applications section of iTunes. Now it won't put any new apps in that section. I actually purchased one (a .99 one) just to see what would happen...it's not in the Applications section in iTunes.
  5. So the weird thing is that my work email, all the Blackberries require a certificate to connect to Exchange. The iphone didn't though. It just worked with the server name and my username and password.
  6. waaaaaaaaaaaay outside of my price range. Pretty sure I'm buying a used 46" Hitachi off of Preacher.
  7. No, what I meant was that AT&T no longer requires you to have ANY data plan if you own an iphone. You will be subject to any data charges (like email, youtube, safari, etc) that you incur but you do not have to have a data plan. When the iphone first came out you DID have to have the plan. You no longer do. Either the $20 Edge or the $30 3G plan. They are not required.
  8. AT&T no longer requires you to purchase the $20 data plan with an iPhone.
  9. Obviously. Everyone who wants to upgrade will be looking to dump their old one.
  10. Can't get the Remote App to work. It gives me a passcode and says to select my iphone under devices in itunes....and nothing happens. No place to put in the passcode. Am I supposed to have it hooked up through USB or is just over WiFi fine? (I've tried both, neither work)
  11. Works! even got Exchange running for my work email including my calendar.
  12. I haven't gotten the upgrade working yet...though it's most likely because I hadn't upgraded to iTunes 7.7 yet. es jay?! has you got it workings yet?
  13. The Inquirer is not the same as the Enquirer. That said, I didn't think either one was reputable really.
  14. I actually know people who do this. They're the type of people that are always involved in pyramid schemes and things like that. As soon as I found out they were doing it I realized I didn't want to be anywhere near it.
  15. A coworker of mine said that he heard a rumor that Western Digital had a large surplus of hard drives right now and their prices are plummeting. That same day he went out and bought a 240gb laptop hard drive from Western Digital for $90. I say we keep an eye out for Western Digital hard drives right now.
  16. I've checked abesofmaine.com and would love to purchase from them...but their tvs are all out of my price range. The truth is that I don't want to spend more than $200 on a tv (which is why I'm trying to find a place to fix this one if possible) but I realize that's not possible and I have very bad eyesight and am used to a 40" tv 10 feet away from me...not sure I could handle anything smaller than that. bleh.
  17. That's bigger than Mags AND sj. Mags photoshopped the picture to make himself look bigger.
  18. I have a 40" Zenith rear projection tv that my dad got 5-7 years ago. It was purchased for just around a grand and is an "HD Ready" tv which meant it didn't have an HD tuner but could display hd quality. Works wonderfully with a DirecTV DVR or HD DVD Player because they have the hd tuner built in. Last night the tv started smoking then popped and now all the colors don't line up. When you watch it you have basically 3 images overlaying each other. A yellow, a green and a pinkish-red image. They are out of alignment by about 6 inches. Basically it's unwatchable. I'm going to see if it can be repaired cheap but if it can't I may have to purchase a new tv. I'm looking for something sub-$1,000 at least 40" capable of handling at least 1 hd input. I honestly don't care if the tv can only do 720p but I definitely want something that will look good with non-HD content as well (because that's what I watch 99% of the time). I have no preferences on LCD vs Plasma vs Rear Projection. Anyone have any suggestions?
  19. My girlfriend didn't want to go see it either (she is nowhere near to being a geek and doesn't "like robots" on top of that). She came out of it thinking that WALL-e (the character) is one of the cutest things she's ever seen and she really loved the movie. To be fair she is very "green" so she liked the message of the movie alot too.
  20. St. Louis Zoo is free. Your zoo's do not stack up. Let's have FragFest in St. Louis.
  21. It's not a real FF without a little Ted Break Danson. One of my favorite people I never knew existed before FragFest. (also has been on two teams with me and made me look like alot better player than I actually am both times)
