  1. Someone told me about this short story last week and I really liked it. It's scifi and it's not something that is going to explode your brain with the complicated character interactions, but it will give someone who has never read George R. R. Martin (or who likes him and hasn't read this story) a chance to be entertained. You can actually read the whole thing at wattpad.com.
  2. No it's not. Take your bias elsewhere. Vista is a better OS then XP and support for XP will end before Vista support. I'll agree that Vista is a resource hog but just turn off all the eye candy and you have yourself a faster, more stable, longer supported OS than XP. Vista is so stable that the company I work for (Watlow Electric which is multi-national) has officially abandoned Vista to go back to XP. There are currently 2 laptops in the entire company that are using Vista. Mine and one of my managers. Mine is being switched to XP tomorrow. I know how to use computers. I have all the eye candy and stupid alerts turned off. The programs that run the worst (for me) on Vista are Microsoft Office, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. 4 of those are flagship applications for Microsoft and they run like complete junk on the flagship operating system. In 2-3 years time, after 2 or 3 Service Packs have come out, I am sure that Vista will be an awesome OS. Just like XP was crap until Microsoft fixed it over the next few years and now it is at least stable.
  3. XBMC is what Boxee is built off of. I honestly don't know what the differences in them are apart from UI...though I know they exist.
  4. I'm not running anything yet, but what I'm going to be running is an AppleTV with Boxee installed on it come Christmas time. Hopefully. It won't do recording though, but it will download off the internet (as well as have a Bittorrent client).
  5. I would suggest checking out MythTV (for recording) and Boxee (if you don't want to record). MythTV however is a pain to get set up correctly from my experiences.
  6. What sort of computers would you have? I've been wondering this actually. If none of you ever used a pc for gaming, what sort of computers would you want to have in your life? Personally, I'd want a mid-level laptop for every day use, and I'd want a Media PC of some sort to hook up to my television. What I'm really asking about is what sort of spec's you'd want though.

    hahahahah!!

Judge quite a bit actually. Like I said, I listened to them for years on the drive to work. Then one day I just got sick of hearing their childish fart jokes and turned em off and never looked back. However, they DO have hilarious comedians on and as long as the comedian is the one talking their show is great!
  8. I would say the exact opposite actually. But that's probably because I figured out the complex menu system without having to be guided. Boxee makes me want to buy an AppleTV. How awesome would it be to watch Hulu on my regular tv?

    hahahahah!!

I used to find The Bob and Tom show to be hilarious...until I realized that the guys themselves were just 12 year old boys in men's bodies. The comedians they have are awesome though.
  10. When in the main screen (the one that has those recommendations) either mouse over to the very left or hit the left arrow key a few times. You'll see a menu pop up and from there you can make sense of it.

Mares Edotes and Dose Edotes and Liddlelams Edivey. Akiddle Edivey too, wouldn't you? Who can has translation?
  12. The root of the problem = miscommunication. Seems pretty obvious to me. Seems like you need to find out every feeling she has about your relationship and examine yourself honestly to figure out where you went wrong. NEVER go into a situation like this trying to figure out what the other person did wrong. ALWAYS try to figure out what you did wrong.

    Heroes...

It's pretty easy to stop watching these shows. Force yourself to go two weeks without it and you'll be off the hook. I didn't even know that Heroes was on tonight. It didn't even enter my mind until I saw this post.
  14. SOMEONE BE MY FRIEND ON HERE SO I CAN LISTEN TO YOUR MUSICSSS!!!! I am pselus.
  15. Signed up as pselus...how do I add friends? email is jamesw @ gmail dot com
  16. There was an issue with that build on Hulu streams. The put out an update so just go to your download page and redownload. Make sure you have version 3964 or later to fix the Hulu issue. (the issue was that it wouldn't make it past the 1st commercial break in the stream)
  17. It can hook up to a MythTV backend...which means if you have a MythTV box recording things you can watch those things using Boxee...so that's close.
  18. This is the worst idea ever. I have no idea who half you people are anymore. Was 3vil EbilDustBunny? I'll stick with the awkward Playaa/Pselus because I'm nostalgic.
  19. Now if only my internet connection at home would WORK! (I'm consistently getting a 300k/sec connection when I'm signed up for a 3mb/sec connection)...then I could play around with this Hulu thing more. It looks incredibly promising. I'm thinking of building a sub-$200 ubuntu box and building myself a media center. I mean, who needs to pay for cable when you can download any tv show out there or stream most of them from Hulu?
  20. sent you one ZD. was going to send stutters one but he doesn't want to be our friend.
  21. I just got into the Alpha yesterday for Boxee and I have to say, this thing is rockin! My favorite part about it, is that it automatically hooks up to Hulu and other online streaming sites (including YouTube) for video viewing. You can even run it on AppleTV if you choose to. Check it out folks, if you want an invite let me know, I can send them out now.
