This looks like it could be a great thriller or action movie. It definately has some of those matrix special effects too! Gotta wonder though if Matrix was a blessing or a curse for Keanu. It was a great series, but will people always hold him to a high standard now after those movies? Anyways, I can't wait for this movie to come out!!

I've been interesting in making maps for cs for some time, but until I finished college I was always too busy. I've had some experience testing out new maps that a former clan member and club member made when I was in college, but didn't get into making them at the time. He made one of our campus center, and based it off the actual floor plans he got from the maintence staff! Man was that a fun map to play on. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone's found any very useful and helpful tutorials out there for making maps. I've got a few ideas for types I want to make, not sure if any of them will be worthy of playing here, probably will take some hard work and long hours. I'm starting with something small and simple and will be working my way up from there, but I wanted to see if anyone has found usefull tutorials for Hammer or just map making in general.

I've been messing with my video settings since I have a problem of video stuttering and the flashing light on prodigy, and I found that by forcing my vid card to run at 8xS Anti Aliasing I actually get a little better fps than none at all. I did this with the nVidia options instead of in-game. I still don't get why your fps goes up with a higher quality setting

this map is huge, Literally. The waterfalls are cool. The textures seem fairly well done too, I didn't really find any glitches when we were playing. The bombsites are a little hard to find at first, they aren't very well marked, but if you look for the 2 groups of barrels before someone blows them up you'll find them. Hint - they're both by the waterfall. Overall, I think it's a cool map. However I think it'd end up being a sniper war with some camping. If it goes no scoped weapons though, that could get interesting.

I've been trying to get my fps in CS:S up and also get rid of the annoying video stutter problem. I'm not sure if many of you have had it also but it's really annoying and all. Well anyways, in my scouring forums I came across a link for a new beta of the Forceware Drivers Version 71.24. My biggest problem is the incredible fps loss I get due to the flashing light in de_prodigy, anyone else had any trouble with this? So post what you think about them if you've tried them out. EDIT: I finally solved the video stutter problem, only took a complete reinstall of the entire fricken game The steam update in late Nov was the cause.

holy crap man, that thing scared the ----- out of me. I clicked on it, then went back to cs and was gonna check it out when I died. I kinda forgot my laptop sound was soo loud. I almost knocked my laptop off the desk when that went off while I was rushing some T's!

Very interesting post. I think that's something every person should read before they even think about saying that someone is cheating. A lot of people often just start saying it but don't give evidence.

I like the idea of a "themed" server where only certain weapons or only non traditional CS:S maps were played. I personally like playing the traditional maps, but from time to time like to go and play a totally different map. The no scope weapons idea sounds interesting at the least, don't know if I've ever tried that.

I did like the map, I think it could be added to the rotation. I just wonder if everyone will be able to play it well enough

It's VERY big, which makes it hard on the graphics card if you don't have a fairly decent one. The other thing is that it lends itself to sniping. Otherwise it looks great.

I've never been much of an assault fan, but this one is pretty authentic to the orig assault. That said I still think it's too T sided. I did notice a problem with the railing on the inside of the building that goes around the side, where it's very hard to jump over that. You have to Crouch then jump, which wasn't part of the orig assault. Seems like the railing is too high. I guess that's all for my nitpicking

Yeah I"m kinda thinking I might go for the basic membership, now that I"m almost done with HL2 and I'm getting into cs:s.

I would like to see prodigy out of the cycle, that's mainly cause the flashing light effects just kill my $400.00 graphics card. Everything else in the game works awesome, but for some reason the card just can't handle that stupid flashing light

I didn't have time to read everyone's post yet, but here's my thoughts. I personaly have no problem with stores having to check to make sure violent games aren't sold directly to underage children. HOWEVER, I think the ultimately this has to the be the responsiblity of the parent. Your kid can play the most violent games and still know that in the end it's just a game, and that real life is very different. I have a major problem with the attitude that violent games make people violent, because it simply isn't right. It's the parents that fail to teach the children playing those games that there's a difference. My little sister was playing her favorite computer game when she was only 3 years old. I was 12. The game was Doom and Doom 2. She plays it constantly, but a few years later when the tragedy at Columbine happened, the first thing she said to my mother was "Mom, why did they do that?" I feel very strongly that the argument that many made then, and now is biased, foolish and very ignorant. Ultimately it falls to those who are raising the children to take the responsiblity they asked for when they decided to become parents. Ok, that's my rant, sorry I subjected it to you guys! Let me just say that I don't oppose a bill that would require stores to check birthdates for a game rated for Mature Adults. It's true purpose should be to force the parents to get educated about what their kids are playing, and to be responsible.

As do mine buddy. I lost a grand father to cancer a few years ago. It's something I wish none of us ever had to go through. I wish you and your family the best and would like to send my sincerest condolences.

It's a bit late, But Happy Belated B-day!!

Ah yes, it's good to be back in the GC community. I really missed this server while I was waiting for HL2 to come out on retail. It's nice to have a server that cares about the community it creates. Not to mention one that has plenty of admins that take an active part in keeping it fun. It seems like everywhere you go, everyone is always vocal about things when something is wrong, but rarely shows grattitude for the work people put into running something fun for others. Just thought I'd say Thanks for all your hard work guys.
