  1. stick with the 9800 till the big boy comes out or you'll just be unhappy that you blew the cash on one of lower quality.
  2. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...=86153&NoMapp=1 this one looked pretty cool and can expand up to 768mb (built in 256mb) is encased in rubber for shock [rotection and can play wma and mp3 files. Also it has low voltage so it uses one AAA battery that lasts up to 8 hours. I think I'm going to get myself one
  3. http://store.yahoo.com/xoxide/sounabmat.html Xoxide was one of our FF04 sponsors as well
  4. even a soundblaster live 5.1 is high quality
  5. I say wait a few months till the next gen PCI cards are available through Dell, or just buy the newest nvidia one from a regular company like newegg
  6. Make sure the computer you are downloading to has actually logged into windows. Also set a password and use it. Don't just give unlimited access. The last thing I can think of offhand is that you can allow others to access but there is another box to check if you want to allow people to make changes to your files.
  7. Here is a list a venders I have used this year and have gotten good deals with. All but the last one has never done me wrong and Just deals just had really poor customer service. Newegg is the best of course CrazyPC is next for service and pricing but selection is limited Infinity systems has free shipping on everything and good prices Tiger Direct is a good starting point and has free after rebate offers Mwave has an almost perfect record with me but is usually a few dollars higher on stuff, but they have a huge selection Computer Geeks is good for discount refurbished stuff Good company but limited selection Tiger Directs outlet for refurbs and pulls, but they also carry some new items. small selection but changes daily Excalibur is similar to newegg Zipzoomfly is also similar to newegg Logitechs outlet, but beware of high shipping and poor service
  8. Two words that scare the heck out of us "Static Discharge"
  9. Not sure, I've never had a sata drive even though my MB supports it. Don't be afraid of Neweggs refurbbs, it's one of the few companies that is good about giving you an exchange without too many questions if the item is defective. Good Luck
  10. case (Sorry but your choice is teh sux): http://www.crazypc.com/Merchant2/merchant....oduct_Code=8057 Floppy cable: http://www.crazypc.com/Merchant2/merchant....duct_Code=54123 IDE Cables: http://www.crazypc.com/Merchant2/merchant....ct_Code=54110UB Ram: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....&type=Refurbish CPU: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....&type=Refurbish Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....&type=Refurbish 1rst round of suggestions lol
  11. #1 F1, F2, F5 (might try all Fkeys) del and spacebar have all been used in my experience to get to bios. Have you tried making bootable floppies? If the PC is set to do an A drive seek on boot that may help. #2 Well it's unethical but there are tons of Windows XP cracks out there. I don't know the name of them but if you have a program like DC++ or WinMX or Kazaa or any other filesharing program with a search feature try searching for windows xp activation crack. My friend Travis uses one that lets you update and everything. I could ask him what it's called and maybe even set it up for you to download if you want. Personally I absolutely hate the activation process. I think if I buy a program, I should be able to install/reinstall it on my PC as many times as I want. Poop on the evil empire lol
  12. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-161-113&depa=1 This is the one I have, it rocks Doom 3 in all the highest settings
  13. good for you parents that have kids that can erase thier porn footprints (no not the ones under the desk eww)
  14. This is the one I use and love it http://store.yahoo.com/justdeals/gsl9306760403.html and just for browsing sake and price: http://store.yahoo.com/justdeals/micandtrac.html
  15. http://store.yahoo.com/xoxide/ratpadzgs.html I am very pleased with this mouse surface and it's much cheaper than the func.
  16. Linksys and Netgear have been good to me. I had a D-Link that was constant trouble from day one.
  17. well cap it to 120 then when you see the error of your ways you can have an extra 40gb for storing all those naked pictures of Birdman
  18. That looks like an OK deal but didn't the desk star get the nick "Deathstar" due to thier tendancies to fail after a short time? Here's a better deal
  19. Actually there are a ton of security and just plain smoothness issues that SP1 fix, I wouldn't be without it myself. You can DL it and install it seperately from the internet if you prefer.
  20. My 1rst choice if $ is available What do you think? Might buy P4 if Missouri drops into the sea but I like this one Tell me what you guys think
  21. I wouldn't own an LCD screen exept for LAN gaming myself. I use a 19" KDS VS. The wieght and portability factor is the onlt readon to own one IMO. As far as returns, Tiger Direct is good, New Egg is good, Mwave.com is good, xoxide is awesome, Crazypc.com is awesome, justdeals.com blows in everything customer service related, Nexfan.com has poor service. The first 5 retailors listed there will take good care of you should something be defective. You should never order a very high priced item from somewhere unknown, Speaking from experiance, just because it's listed on pricewatch don't make it an established company (got ripped off for $1400) Thank God for fraud protection on the credit card baby.
  22. just go into steam serttings and disable the auto start feature right click on the steam icon go to settings, click the interface tab and then deselect the box "Run Steam when Windows Starts" That is the best and easiest suggestion, outside of sitting down with your laptop and the manual for your wireless adapter and playing with it.
