Just played the beginning part of the new PoP demo and its pretty great. I played the last one on the Xbox, so using the keyboard and mouse was a bit awkward but I could still tell that the new combat system is completely revamped and you can pull of some crazy moves and its all smooth as hell.

nice writeup. this game sounds truly awful and any inkling of curiosity i had for it just disappeared.

ehhh checked it out real quick and its looks pretty similar. you have to be really close to see the "texture" which isnt even that good.

gotta go back to class right now, but i will check em out when i get home in an hour, and let yall know how they look.

not that i know much about computers, but i would spend the extra 100 bucks for that set-up. probably will be worth it in the long run.

I voted no, but I changed my mind. I would definitely play on a 1.6 server until they fix Source. Its kinda $#(@!@ right now.

I saw an anime movie the other day called Tokyo Godfathers and it wasnt your typical anime but i liked it. cowboy beebop used to be one of my favorites. only anime series i ever got into, really.

thanks. that solved it. changed Cl_updaterate to 10 (default was 20) and changed my rate to 15,000. no more choke or loss. EDIT: still getting loss spikes. choke is okay still.

i had an atari. would play with my older cousin who was into videogames when I was rather young. man, 2500 for 15 mbs. i wonder if anybody bought that? my first computer was an apple. trying to think of the name of it... anyway, i dont think it was that old (im only 17, the first gen. of home computers was probably a bit before my time) but I remember playing beamwars on it. that game was awesome. i always tried to find a free shareware PC version of that game, never could find one.

I get extreme loss spikes. Like, itll jump to 20, then chill at 3, go back to zero, and so forth. Makes the game very unplayable. How do I fix this?

I must say this game is growing on me. I think it will grow on all of us.

i was wary of the beta drivers (after reading that they should be approached with caution) but I havent had a single problem with em.

yep yep. no problem returning the game. although the guy at gamestop did say something like, "in all my 4 years of working here Ive never seen something like this." (which i found odd b/c that gamestop has only been there for a year). then he gave me a shifty look. but i swear it came broken!

sounds like a plan. playing in a "good atmosphere" (.gc) got me back into CS.

exactly. just got home and downloading it right now. i mean, people are either gonna buy HL2 now or when its released in stores. How is this a take the money and run situation? Valve would sell the same amount of units regardless. i was gonna hold off and wait for it to be in stores (i like buying a physical product) but this announcement of CS source changed that. Original CS was starting to finally run its course for me (used to be an every other day thing, now i rarely play). GC actually got me back into CS. Until I started playing here, I had stopped for about a year (the server I played on with people I knew closed and we all stopped playing). Then one day I randomly joined the GC server and I was hooked all over again.

ugh... disc 2 turned out to be cracked. this is the first time ive ever gotten a brand new, cracked PC game.

okay. i bought this game today. that part really sold me on the game. some IPs where you guys play? Does GC have a server for this game? -noah
