  1. I'm looking to purchase a 19" LCD Monitor for school and would like some input. I've done some reading and have looked at the 8ms monitors which I hear are better for gaming and such but not so great for other applications such as movie watching and text applications. Any input, suggestions, or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I wonder if LaG died.... <Mmmm inside joke>
  3. Thanks for the responses guys! Another quick question: What's the difference between palmOne products and all the pocket PC's that actual computer manufacturing comapnies are releasing (Dell, HP etc.). Do the Dell ones use the Graffitti thing for writing? Also, what's the difference between the Windows Mobile OS and the Palm one? I've been looking around CNET and other sites and it looks like the Palm Tungsten E2 is pretty good for the price. Any thoughts?
  4. I'm looking for a good all-round PDA for mainly scheduling and planning. I don't need anything too too fancy, just something with a good interface and good reliability. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with any in particular?
  5. i wonder how long it will take for the canadian version to come out =/

  11. I'm contimplating buying an external hard drive for my laptop but the one I've been eyeing comes preformatted as Fat32. I've heard from many a source that NTFS is the preferred type, especially for backup and such. If that is the case could someone provide me with some sort of guide as to how I can go about reformatting the drive to NTFS? I'm a bit of a hardware technopeasant Thanks
  12. Who kicked over the rock Moss was under??!? Long time see
  13. good times indeed. brought back memories of those hilarious massive MCC matches of yesteryear. As always DOH was a class act. It's great that we can get something like that together. I say we do it more often!
  14. I think these forums are archived back to mid-2002. I think that was when we lost the www.m4cs.com domain from Dirk.
  15. How disappointing.. I've always respected you PDO, you're a good CS player and above that a good guy, but the comments you made in your post were malicious, scathing and completely uncalled for. I've been in the Mmmm/GC community for going on 3 and a half years now and have witnessed a lot of changes. The one thing that hasn't changed, however, is this community's doctrine of creating a wonderful gaming experience for the MAJORITY of the people who come through. In my opinion we have succeeded. I have played CS for along time and frequented a lot of servers yet no where I go can i find the kind camaraderie and feeling the GC community has. A huge part of this is due to the efforts of Fatty. When you attack his "ideals" you attack all of our ideas as to how this community should be run. I take offence to that. You aren't the first person to have a problem with how this community is run, nor will you be the last. Many people have come and left, the latter being minimal. There's no possible way to please everyone in the diverse population that come accross our servers. However, the community has always done its best to please the majority. No one NEEDS to play here. Why do you feel you need a justify to the world your reasons for leaving? If the atmosphere was no longer to your liking then why not just quietly leave? Why did you feel you needed to "go out with fire"? I'll tell you one thing, calling people rednecks and making ridiculous claims about their personal lives is in no way a heroic ending. In doing so you just pulled your name through the mud on your way out the door. I understand that your post was directed at Fatty and no one else. I also understand that you may be feeling cheated and disrespected. However,(to use the old cliche) an attack on one is an attack on all. I too consider myself a stand-up guy and this is how I feel about the comments made. I'm holding no hard feelings or anything like that, I just disagree.
  16. On behalf of me, and the rest of the Gamers Coalition, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Festivus!!!! Raise your aluminum pole, air your grievances and practice the Feats Of Strength. It is your RIGHT!! "Many Christmas' ago I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As i rained blows upon him I relaized there had to be another way! What happened to that doll? It was destroyed.. But out of that a new holiday was born!! A FESTIVUS FOR THE REST OF US!!!"
  17. well I'm currently on a GF4 MX 440 which was a pertty good card 3 years ago. Needless to say its time for an upgrade. Another option would be I guess going for a 9800 series card. A local computer dealer is selling a 9800 Pro 256mb for around 300 opposed to the x800pro's 600 dollar price tag. I heard that the performance of the x800 nearly doubles that of the 9800 series. Is that true? Are the games, such as HL2, even capapble of utlilizing the extra power?
  18. Thanks for the responses guys! i guess my other question is that currently I'm running on a P4 2.4ghz and 512mbDDR ram. Will I be able to run the X800Pro to its full capacity or will subsequent upgrades be needed to bring up the performance?
  19. I'm looking at getting the x800 PRO, it's the only one that seems remotely close to my price range. I've read a few articles on various sources that say that PCIe is the wave of the future when it comes to video cards. Does the PCIe squeeze out more performance from vid cards? Is it worth it to wait for the PCIe cards to drop in price? The x800 pro is AGP atm I beliveve. Thanks
