You should have been here the night flitter announced that we were taking tanks off of our server for good. I thought there was going to be a riot!

My ping does that because of my connection. About 4-5 times a day my ping spikes to 200 pretty much everywhere and there's nothing I can do about it until I move back into town.

Yeah it got a little choppy with a couple of scary spikes, but it's nowhere near as bad as before. As long as there is minimal packet loss, the lag doesn't bother me personally. Sucks that gorg pings so bad, although it could be a temporary problem. And I agree with brillow the ping matters much less in UT than other games (especially onslaught).

I think we should re-evaluate the criteria keeping in mind that is it our regulars that keep our server alive and running. It makes sense financially to have reserve slots for paying members, but only to the point that we aren't upsetting people on a regular basis. I can totally understand where this guy is coming from, and would personally be willing to take the appropriate steps to ensure that similar situations do not reoccur.

I'm looking forward to making some headway on this project throughout the weekend. Which server will we be using for this? Can it support the full 12 players WITH voice comms enabled? What day do we want to host the game? What happens if a player enjoys him/herself, decides they don't want to join GC but they DO want to play in our weekly "fun match" ? Should we do like a 1-2 invite limit unless they decide to join GC? DISCUSS!

This is a good idea. Primus, how do you feel about possibly setting up some sort of signup form for people that are interested? If we had some sort of "Go to www.blah.com/signup" message popping up every 10-15 minutes in our pub, we could make it less labor-intensive. That way we could get names/IM information and just collect/organize the data in addition to hand picking.
