  1. Bottom line will obviously be the players, if they migrate and retro dies, then it dies, if the players shun GO and continue to play in retro, then it will live, at least that would seem the logical progression. When the time comes, the board will mull it over, until then, just have fun and keep digitally slaughtering one another!
  2. Wow, lots of info there, thanks. So it seems that any investment in good gear via the auction house would be a waste at my level since I would outgrow it too fast, hell, I'm still on normal mode, just started act3 (bf3 has taken most of my playing time)
  3. This is my first real go around with this type of game, so I'm a noob for sure. My monk is currently lvl 23 I think, I'm just looking for advise as to the best way to build him up, because honestly,I have no idea what I'm doing and usually just equip the best gear I can find (or that Flitter drops for me, thx btw) and use the newest skills as they unlock....then I mash buttons and hope stuff dies. I have no idea as to the best way to progress my dude, I just know that pretty much everyone is far more advanced than me.
  4. I thought character levels maxed out at 60? How are there weapons that are higher than that?
  5. Sounds like 14 bucks too much, lol I'm gonna wait and see on that, if people report that it's a completely different game than the beta, I'll give it a shot, otherwise I'm gonna pass on this one.
  6. Ground Branch is a very cool looking project being created by one of the guys that worked on the original Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six games. This game is designed to be a tactical squad game that really puts an emphasis on reality, i've never played a game like this, but it's got my interest. The early gameplay footage on the site is pretty impressive as far as making a video game "feel" as real as possible. My friends that I play BF3 with all started out playing these games and have turned into a pretty respectable community in their own right, so if they are excited about it, it's probably going to be good. This project needs donations to keep rolling, so if you're into these kinds of games, or you think it might be cool to try, get over there and check it out, and more importantly, toss them a few bones. http://www.kickstart...3/ground-branch Might be a cool thing for GC play competitively, I know there are more than a few guys around here that are in to that
  7. So if I am in Act 2, or further along in that whomever I want to play with, I can join them via the friends dealio and my progress and stuff is all good?
  8. If I am progressing in my own game, but then sometimes want to jump in and play with other people, does it erase all my progress/loot/experience if I go backwards into someone else's game? It asked me if I wanted to erase my save or something and that freaked me out. Would be cool to be able to jump around and gain xp/loot without having to get through the game too fast....wish there was more of an open world feel to the game.
  9. Question....what's the point of this for people that have the disc being delivered tomorrow? Can't you just install it from that in less time?
  10. If it's hotel in the general vicinity as before, then i'm in...otherwise, probably not....just a matter of convenience for me, with a kid and all, and my vacation time there has to be shared with my family, since I only see them once a year now. I think the camping deal was in Lancaster or something, that's way too far for me to make it a multi-purpose trip. I go to Ohio once a summer anyways, so it would be a cool thing to do again sometime...was lots o' fun.
  11. I think I am going Monk....although Wizard has me thinking too...
  12. heh....owned by swear filter I only have a "spirited" attitude because I care about being good at stuff I like...which incidentally, doesn't really ever happen, lol....which further fuels previously mentioned attitude
  13. I bought and played COD4 for about 2 hours before I realized how much I hated it....sold it to someone here in GC, I really expected BF3 to be the same type of thing, but I was surprised to find that it wasn't at all similar. I bought BF3 as a kick, just to play with my dad online, but fell in love with it, now I play all of the time, and met some really cool people in the course of doing so. So yeah...CODMWBLOP3.5/4 whatever will not be purchased by me...the trailers don't look nearly as cool as BF3, and the trailers are usually way better than the actual game, lol.
  14. Do you need a different one from Diablo 2? I already have a battlenet account set up for that.
  15. Oh, i misunderstood, i thought you were going to use your current Verizon phone. Yeah, Nexus will work great.
  16. I can't see that working....Verizon uses CDMA and LTE,, where T mobile is GSM, and a very specific band. Hspa+ is used by T mobile and partly by at&t...who also uses gsm, different band tho. The radio in a verizon phone should not function on any other network, so if it does work, I'm curious as to how they accomplish it.
  17. Not really....we had it going a couple times, but most other times you can sit in there and no one joins. We don't seem to have many BF3 players here.
  18. It's not that they are bad in the sense of poor system performance or anything like that, my system runs it on high just fine, it's the fact that it looks like a game that was designed and created 5 years ago. The overall design of the game just looks dated to me, I can't quite put my finger on all of it...it's just "off", the character models are weird looking, and the perspectives aren't right. The current version of CS looks far better to me. I guess I just expected more from the next version of the game. Not only is it not up to par with the current CS offering, this game in no way can compete with Battlefield 3 or COD. I know the gameplay is completely different, i'm not talking about that, i'm talking about the appearance and overall quality and design of the game. Like it or not, they are competing with these games, people only have so much available time to play games and these companies have to work hard to earn their chunk of that time, and I just don't think this game stands up when these other games have raised the bar. The other problem is the shot registration, which I am obviously not the only one mentioning this, and this is a problem with CS:S as well. With a game that looks this dated, you would think that they would put forth the effort to at least make sure it plays flawlessly, but it's awful. I play Bf3 pretty exclusively now, and I have to say, there is really no excuse to be at the level Valve is and not be able to create a great game, Bf3 is graphically BEAUTIFUL and with settings on high, I have NO issues with shot registration on any server with decent ping, granted, there will always be a minor hiccup here and there, it's the internet after all, but overall, it's pretty darn good, and very consistent. Why can't Valve accomplish this? Don't get me wrong, I LOVED playing CS, and I miss it alot now...I have made many good friends playing that game here, but it's gotten old. I was hoping for so much more out of this next version, but to me, it's not going to be a game that's good enough to draw a large number of people back in. I won't pay more than $20 for this game, if I even pay that.
