    Leaving

Need to ask that creepy lady to take her cats back...
  2. Bioshock Infinite. It is cool, don't listen to Jackie.
  3. I'm a fan so I'll make a fan rumor right now. Episode 3 is never coming out!
  4. Diablo 3 was announced and shown to the public for the first time in 2008. It came out in 2012. Guild Wars 2 started development in 2007 and was announced at the same time. 2009 was when they first showed it to the public. It came out in 2012. Even though it was pretty much five years between the announcement of the games and release they at least had gameplay to show within two years. After two years Homeworld 3 has a trailer of concept art.
  5. I thought the ending was fine. Have you ever seen the end of a Seinfeld episofe where all the things that happened in the episode come together at the end? It's just like that. Would you rather they dragged out the end explaining stuff for an hour?
  6. I will host them somewhere else tonight.
  7. I didn't really like Planescape Torment. I played it last year. I was bummed they built an RPG where you had basically zero say in your character development. I kept throwing my points into INT knowing at some point they would give me the option to turn my fighter into a mage, but it never happened.
  8. It takes a bit of finicking to find out the maximum resolution your PC can handle. Here's more of very early Bioshock Infinite: And yes, I upload them to some random German site...
  9. I was bored so I wanted to try out downsampling screenshots. For anyone that doesn't know it's a simple technique used to get better looking screenshots. I'm a total newb at it since I've just been messing around with it today. The basic concept is you force your video card to run a game at a really high resolution, slap all the anti-aliasing on it you can, even if it runs at 5fps. You then take your screenshot and rescale it in Photoshop to a lower resolution. This keeps the texture clarity and edge crispness of the higher resolution but scaled to a lower resolution, it looks really good. Bioshock Infinite is using in game AA, I'm not sure if it's multisampling or just something like FXAA. Mass Effect 3 in 1080p is highest in game settings with AA, their AA isn't great. The downsampled screenshot uses 4x multisampling and 4x SGSSAA. World of Tanks is only using in game AA, which is FXAA. Gear Up is using in game AA, I think it's multisampling... maybe... I've been trying out a number of games I have installed. The result is best when you throw on a bunch of extra AA on, like I did with Mass Effect 3. I've been working with the Nvidia Inspector to put 4x multisampling and 4x SGSSA on more games. You can learn more about downsampling here: http://www.tested.co...ample-pc-games/
  10. I hate to sound cynical... well, I kind of enjoy it... and I love me some Homeworld, I even have Homeworld 2 installed right now, but what do you think the chances of this ever actually coming out are? It was announced in 2011 and all they have released is this teaser trailer? Beta sign ups: http://blackbirdinteractive.com/contact/beta/
  11. Anytime I see someone's birthday in the 90's I still just assume they're like 15 years old.
  12. Better EA than Activision.
  13. I thought the topic said Archibald...
  14. More like Battlefield Poor! BAM! *puts hand up for high-five* It looks good, but since I got my new video card I reinstalled Battlefield 3 and I have to say, Battlefield 3 looks pretty damn good still. The only improvement I see over 3 compared to 4 are the character models and animations, maybe a little bit of better looking particles here and there. For the most part it looks like 3. It also sounds exactly the same as 3... like... exactly the same. It's too bad that even as crazy as the game looks, like shooting a helicopter down with a grenade launcher, the game still looks boring. Like I'm watching a movie that is cut up into sections where I occasionally shoot dudes. I want really fun and engaging game play, not just set piece after set piece.
  15. You should get one of those awesome eyeball tattoos!
  16. Without a server for people to play on, we don't have a community. These forums aren't keeping GC alive, the games are. After all, we all play with mostly people we know from the pub. I doubt I'd know the majority of these people if it weren't for the forums and pub server. Hell, I probably wouldn't even play CS anymore if it weren't for the community. The games might keep GC alive, but there's more games out there than just CSGO. Left 4 Dead 2 has been huge and brought a resurgence of community members. I haven't played much CSGO and I've played zero Left 4 Dead 2, but I HAVE played Battlefield 3, a bunch of SimCity, and a whole mess of Mass Effect 3 with community members in the last few months. I disagree that if we don't have a CSGO server we don't have a community. The community should center around the people, not a specific game. This is how we have people playing CSGO AND Left 4 Dead, Minecraft, Mass Effect, SimCity, Diablo, Starcraft, Battlefield, Killing Floor, Unreal Tournament, Day of Defeat, DayZ and all the other games people have played together over the years. I think the forums are a huge part of that. When I played Diablo 3 I played it for hours with Biggs and Sky who are primarily Left 4 Dead 2 players and I even played some with Flitterkill, I didn't even know Flitterkill had a computer! That's what I want from a community, friends to play games with. If people lose interest in a server it's not a death sentence for the community but an opportunity for people to explore other games to play together. If people want to play 5vs5 instead of playing on the GC server I see no problem with that, playing 5vs5 with community members is even better. The amount of interest in a server should determine if it survives or not, not people saying, "I'm going to stop doing this thing I enjoy because I feel obligated to play on our CSGO server."

    I give up

By this logic should you give up on life because you'll never be as smart as Einstein? Giving up is not an option!
  18. There's a special ring of hell for those people. Them and those who hold spitters. What's a spitter?
  19. My question is, why? If so many people enjoy playing the 5vs5 scrimmages more than playing on the GC CSGO server why should they stop scrimmaging? Maybe big public servers are going the wayside and these smaller tighter 5vs5 matches are where things are headed? I see no reasons to try to keep the CSGO server populated when so many regulars would rather be scrimmaging. At what point do we have a CSGO server just for the sake of having a CSGO server? I've had a lot of good times on the GC servers but when people would rather be scrimmaging and have to force themselves to stop to play on the GC server, what does that say?
  20. I beat this last night at like 2am. Took me around 9 hours with exploring where I could. I know I still missed a bunch of stuff but I'm kind of interested in playing it again already. This is one of those games where I want to beat it on the first few days of release so nothing is spoiled for me. I heard a bunch of people were going around just trying to soil plot twists.
