  1. I've only played about 2-3 hours last night, but really enjoying it so far, even more than Bioshock 1. In one of the Half-Life 2 episodes you hung out with Alyx Vance the whole time and you got to know her pretty well, she was your buddy. This game has a similar vibe with Elizabeth. I like your general shoot em' up FPS games but having an AI character with you that isn't just, "A co-op player would go here" or "Lets do this escort mission!" and having one that actually adds to the atmosphere and story is great. She has a bit of naivety about the real world... well, the real sky world, but I've just gotten her and I can imagine her character going in a good direction as her and my characters learn what's really going on in sky town. I'm excited to play more after work. Side know, the game looks MUCH better than I thought it would, DX11 support and some other PC goodies, like contact shadows, awesome looking DoF. Side side note, Devil Abraham Lincoln.... BAM! Catch it!
  2. That worked well in Final Fantasy X, heck the only good thing I liked about that game. Though I dont think its a selling point in PoE, just that a lot of people bring it up. It's like, the second thing mentioned on the front page of their website.
  3. I'll put this out here as reference for Tsunami to put you guys in your place. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhetorical_question
  4. If you buy it from GreenManGaming gaming you get Bioshock Infinite, $15 GMG credit, Bioshock 1, XCOM Enemy Unknown, the Industrial Revolution Pack and your choice of either Civilization 5, Spec Ops The Line, Mafia 2, Bioshock 2, or The Darkness 2. If you buy it from Amazon you get Bioshock Infinite, $30 credit towards 2K Game downloads on Amazon, XCOM Enemy Unknown, the Industrial Revolution Pack and Bioshock Infinite: Mind in Revolt, which is a 30 page book of some kind that has some back story on the sky-city Columbia. If you buy it from Steam you get Bioshock Infinite, Bioshock 1, XCOM Enemy Unknown, the Industrial Revolution Pack, and seven Team Fortress 2 items. The GreenManGaming version has the most bang for your buck, but I already own all of those games. The Steam version will get you a whole mess of TF2 stuff if you're into that. I went with the Amazon copy, hoping something good comes out of 2K Games in the next year.
  5. Not when Mass Effect was an Xbox exclusive upon release (and I was a shortly-after-release purchaser)! Hmmm, I guess.
  6. I'm pretty sure the PC is more OG than that Xbox, but ANYWAY... yeah, they added a lot of stuff since release.
  7. It's plenty fare. $15 fare in fact!
  8. We used to do this on Scopeless, you know, before the GC God struck it down. We called it... uhh.. Open Sight... Something. Open Sight Slaughter! Yeah, I remember now... *memories*
  9. Before reading this topic I thought Bruno Mars was one of Sasha Baron Cohen's characters...
  10. I bought a GTX 670 and it came with free to play cash for World of Tanks, Planetside 2, and Hawken. I started playing World of Tanks in late 2010, it's pretty fun but the grind can be a bit harsh at times. I currently stopped playing, or am on a break or something like that. ANYWAY, the World of Tanks cash is an invite code for new accounts worth 2,500 gold. I think that's worth a couple months worth of "premium" account, which boosts your XP and cash you get per match. I used to play it all the time and Penty plays it now, so if you're interested and want help starting out or want some hot tips let me know.
  11. Spring is here. Getting lots of snow.
  12. Yeah, I played a few hours, but I feel like when you look at the skill tree they purposely make it look overwhelming so you say "Wow, look at this skill tree!" but it's all of the classes' in one skill tree. While you could probably go wherever you want in the tree, realistically you're only going to be looking at a 6th of the tree. Then on top of that there's things like having "+10% archery damage" 5 times in a row as different things, where's most games would have it condensed into 1/5 then the next time you level up you can put a point in it again and make it 2/5. Maybe skill tree is the wrong term, maybe more of a perk tree? If I look at Titan Quest, that game has 9 Masteries, if you spread out all of the Titan Quest skill trees to look like the Path of Exile tree you'd have over 1,500 little dots to spend your skill points on. It sounds like a lot, and it is, that's why I don't think Path of Exile throwing up this huge tree is impressive.
  13. If you look at it, it's actually not that impressive, they just make it look impressive. That skill tree is for all of the characters and separates things most games would combine. Like if you had a skill in another game with 5 ranks of something, Path of Exile would separate it into 5 little circles. Also stats are on that skill tree as well.

That's the browser on Origin and yes agreed. Also when a friend messages you, I have to alt+tab to read in even though i have origin in game enabled. Compared to Steam, its absolute garbaaaaaaaaage... Steam, 2003. Origin, 2011.
  15. I wish the camera zoomed out like, twice as far as it does.
  16. I must have missed the part where this was related to Diablo 3.

    Simcity

The SimCity release may have been the nail in the coffin but it certainly isn't the biggest reason Riccitiello is resigning. Spending $200 million to create a Star Wars branded World of Warcraft clone is the biggest failing by EA in years, going from 1.7 million subscribers to below 1 million within the first 4 months and Free-to-Play within a year of release. EA's stock dropped 10% when they said how many subscribers they lost.

I already kind of have everything on that list besides Bejeweled 3.

WarZ isn't a game though. Right, neither is Minecraft.

I think WarZ was the worst launch of a game.
  21. Yes, I bought Sennheiser HD558s. I already had the HD555s for years and the HD558s are the newer version of them, so I was already pretty sure I'd like them, and I do like them a lot. Last week I bought a GTX 670 which is muuuch quieter than my GTX 480, so even though the HD558s are open ear I'm not getting as much background noise as I used too. I can also finally use my speakers again! Woo!

How does giving it away for free help if it didn't sell well? It was the best selling game in February and sold around 650,000 copies that month.
  23. Since when were goatees "styling"?
