  1. 0/4 Stars This has to be the worst movie Ive seen so far in 2006. Its gross to the point where it should have been NC-17. Even the main titles were gross. It wasn't extertaining or fun at all. The movie just made me feel sorry for the main characters the whole time. I left the theater feeling angry and disgusted. *Gross Spolier* / / / / / There was a rape scene in the move that was so gross and graphic that I do not recommend anyone to see this movie. It was gross to the point that I almost left the theater. A young teenage girl and her older sister, who is a mother of a newborn, get raped by some freaks who laugh while doing it. Not to mention that their mom has to see it happen. Oh... and their father is being burned alive during the scene too...... / / / / / *End Gross Spolier* PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS MOVIE!!!!! Luckily I didnt have to pay for it since a friend of mine works at the theater. Yet, I regret even seeing it for free...
  2. Yeah Silent Hill is how I like my horror. Twisted and somewhat disturbing. I dunno bout you guys but I enjoyed all the Silent Hill games. And yeah pretty happy at the moment knowing its out soon. From the trailer it looks like its based on the 1st with some lady replacing Harry but it keeps the 'world' music soundtrack and sirens. Nice! IMDB knows Silent Hill
  3. Anyone watch this show? I got the first season from the library and could not stop watching them. Over the last couple months I have burned through seasons 2,3,4 and caught up to current season 5. I can think of nothing negative about this show - I love every episode and think it is amazing.

Last night's episode... just wow. Anyone that watches this show end up completely surprised at the turn of events last night? Not to mention a main character death?
  5. What is your favorite movie quote?
  6. I actually like the new version quite a bit and make a point of watching it. I loved the original as a kid and knowticed that this new version is a lot grittier. The special effects are great especially for the sciFi channell. Eddie Almos is great as Adama. The addition of the second battlestar I think is great as in the original it was destroyed fighting a basestar. I also noticed that a lot of these people dont get along. Guess thatll happen in their situation. What ya'll think?
  7. Story of a hometown kid trying to become an officer in the Navy. If you haven't seen it. Go pay whatever it costs to see it. Very good movie - granted the story is essentially what I WANTED to do with my life. GG heart murmur...GG... 10/10 100% 4/4 stars 2 thumbs up! So far this is the best movie this year - and I have seen everything that is in the theater right now.

    Final Destination 3

Final Destination 3 A high school senior has a premonition of a fatal roller coaster accident involving herself and her friends. When the premonition proves true, those who have "cheated death" are to deal with the repercussions of escaping their fate. I wonder how many parts they're going to make!
  9. A new series about Blade from the SciFi channel and Spike tv. http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=1&id=34430
  10. im surprised no one here posted about this moive. i did a quick search and didnt find anything. so, i was reading a bunch of other forums discussing the movie, both in an itelligent and mature way AND the nooby way. so i thought to myself, i wonder what the people at gc think about it. and lo and behold...nothing? anyway. this movie was amazing. cinematography was breath-taking. acting was incredible. story was awesome. such a powerful movie about two people in love, when society tells them not to be, and how they both deal with it, in their own ways. it was such a strange experience wanting them to get together, but at the same time feeling uncomfortable when they did. i think heath ledger did a great job just capturing that low-key southern drawl without overdoing it, like so many other actors do. the female supproting cast was first rate. overall this is one of the best movies this year (capote being the other). so id like to hear some other opinions. and plz lets try to keep it civil.
  11. Went to see this on Saturday with the lady wife, great movie not at all what I was expecting. Greg Kinnear and Pierce Brosnan work excellently together (anyone who has seen the Taylor of Panama will have an idea of the kind of role Brosnan was playing). Would thoroughly recommend it as a change of pace from the usual Hollywood rubbish. It does have a lot of cursing and some rather "adult" moments so not for some of our youngest readers and there are some genuinely hilarious moments. 4/5 Brosnan: Come on! It'll be a good time! Kinnear: Oh, so now killing people is a good time? Brosnan: Can be.
  12. http://www.cinema8.qc.ca/affiche/index.asp Alot of interesting films comming out.
  13. Lot of people said it sucked but I thought it was pretty good. Probably one of Cages better movies.
  14. http://www.oscars.org/78academyawards/noms.html Nominations for best motion picture of the year: “Brokeback Mountain (Focus Features) “Capote (UA/Sony Pictures Classics) “Crash (Lions Gate) “Good Night, and Good Luck. (Warner Independent Pictures) “Munich (Universal and DreamWorks)
  15. 3/4 Stars I felt it was better then the original because of all the backstory. Its worth waiting for rental.
  16. For all the Firefly fans out that and sci-fi fans in general go out and watch this, it's on DVD now and it rocks.
  17. Just curious what people’s fav movies from 2005 were? On the whole not a great year especially if you’re an action fan but my top 5 were... 1) Batman Begins - Great cast, a dark Batman, exactly what Batman should be. 2) Wedding Crashers - My fiancée dragged me to this, I thought it'd be a rental, wow was I wrong, funniest movie of 2005. 3) Crash - great storyline and awesome cast. 4) King Kong - I just thought it was a great popcorn movie, great visuals and good acting (except Jack Black who almost ruins it for me). 5) Sin City - People either love it or hate it, I love Frank Miller and this movie captures his dark comic book style. ...And most disappointing, for me...Star Wars Episode III .... I wanted more Vader and less Anakin. I still can't believe Vader only really shows up in the last scene, so disappointing. Trust me I wanted to like it, I really did but I just can't! Cheers, Klink
  18. Has some pretty funny parts but also is kinda wrong in a way, making fun of physically challenged people. But it is funny.... Score 76/100
  19. Hey Hostel is coming out this weekend and it looks really scary adn good. Who is going to see it, i think i am (if the girlfriend lets me take her)..
  20. That was a absolutly horrible movie. I hated it so much i almost walked out execpt my girlfriend would not let me. I would ot go see it..
  21. I havent watched the show in a few years do to deployment and work. I noticed Forrest Whitaker is on now and apparently after Mick Chiklis's character, Vic Mackey. Love his character in the show. I noticed that FX network seems to have a very liberal profanity policy. I didnt remember that much of it going on in the previouse seasons. Doesnt the FCC fine for all those offences since the Janet Jackson "garment malfunction" incident? Someone bring me up to speed on whats goin on with the show. The last thing I saw on the show was when Mack shot one of his own in the group (I think it was Curtis "Lemonhead" Lemansky). Happy New Year to all and Happy Birthday/Wedding anniversery to me!!
  22. New XMen 3 trailer here. Its awesome. http://movies.monstersandcritics.com/archi...en_3/415/videos
  23. Lang filter messing with Philip K.... "Bob is a dealer of a new drug called "Substance D". Fred is a cop, and is assigned to bring Bob down. However, what they don't know is, due to a personality-splitting side effect of Substance D, Bob and Fred are actually the same person." This movie wont be out for awhile but I wanted to spark some interest. For you sci fi fans youll recognize Philip K. johnson (Or not if a lang filter is active a link there if you dont). A Scanner Darkly. Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, Robert Downey Jr, Woody Harrelson, Rory Cochrane. Theres more info+trailer there. And it looks like they put an animation filter kinda thing over the real acting. So that should make any special effects added blend in good. I would think.
  24. Well we went to see this last night. After Jackson's previous works I was excited to see how this would turn out. I was incredibly disappointed. The movie is 3 HOURS long. It could easily have been 1.5 hours and still been a bad movie though. Three hours just makes double-sure it is a bad movie. There are numerous "blue screen" shots that just look incredibly fake. It is apparent they tried to make it look good, but failed miserably. The acting is good for the most part, the story-line is already known from the original but they decided to increase it a bit this time and make sure you know about the love triangle. The worst thing is that there was nothing to make you want to be "involved" in the movie. It was SO incredibly slow and such a painful grind. I actually grabbed my coat and wanted to leave but my buddy wanted to finish it, he though it would improve - he was wrong. The theatre we visited had about 120 people - throughout the movie I watched 8-10 people get up and leave....I wish I had been one of them. I just checked some review pages and this movie is getting an A from critics on average. I just am not sure why. Bad special effects through parts - incredibly slow - parts completely unrealistic - on and on I can go. We gave it a 50/100.
