  1. Its Way Better than AMERICAN IDOL!!!!!
  2. Was VERY good (surprised me). Ranked up there (a little lower albeit) with Gladiator and the allmighty BRAVEHEART. I give Arthur 90/100.
  3. Great movie! I give it 5/5 stars. Anyone else see it? Vin Diesel played his part great in that movie. Edit: wow um.. gg filter? Rid d ick?
  4. Well I spent about the first half of the film being distracted by how nasty Charlize Theron managed to look in this movie, but once I got into it...WOW. I mean it was absolutely NOT a feelgood movie. Actually, I would say that it was fairly emotionally disturbing. Sad...very very very sad. And the worst part is, it is based on a true story. Charlize did an AMAZING job in this movie, I mean Academy award type performance. Actually I dont even know what kind of recognition she got for the movie...Imma go look it up after this post. For STELLAR acting and a heart wrenching plot, I give this movie a: 86/100 this is NOT a feelgood movie though, and I have no interest in watching it again... EDIT: Sho' nuff' she got best leading actress from the Academy for this film in 2003.

    Spiderman 2

Anyone see it yet? Please do not spoil it for those of us who haven't seen it but please tell us what you think. Better than the first? Farenhei.... who?
  6. awesome movie! a must see!. It's a great movie. You wont regret seeing it! you'll get a good laugh in it too!
  7. Watched it last night. Despite the all-star cast I thought it was very disappointing. The plot, although classic, somehow managed to be very thin and uninteresting. The story was all over the place. In 2.5 hours we saw terrific actors show up for 30 minutes at a time (Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Natalie Portman, Don Sutherland) and they managed somehow to add NOTHING to the terrible story. I wanted to fast forward it. Acting and cinematography were magnificent. The storyline and script were VERY mediocre. 73/100 WITH extra points for the cast.
  8. Im a movie fiend, Christi and I just got Netflix. I'm excited, I'll let you know how I like it Well, off to see Man on Fire now...
  9. http://www.jameszabiela.co.uk/gallery/sweden/mondaybar.wmv The 1st is James Zabiela. The 2nd is Sasha. It's too bad you don't get to hear more of Sasha. He's simply amazing.
  10. I went to see this movie because i had nothing better to do. I thought it was going to be awful. I was pleasently surprised. It was damn funny!!! Many star cameos that made it very funny. Including William Shatner and Chuck Norris. It put me in a good mood and i wouldnt have minded sittin gthrough it again. A must see if you want a laugh.
  11. Well, I rented this last night, and I didn't pay the greatest attention to it and stopped about an hour into it due to distractions. I was wondering if anybody has seen it and could offer any input at all, even if it's worth 3 bucks to rent again...
  12. Just saw this movie and I was really enthrolled. I thought it was great and Spacey was brilliant. 85/100 BTW after you watch it once, pop it in a second time and you will really enjoy it.
  13. Anyone going to see this? I read a review in USA Today (only paper at work) about it, and it kind of angers me. But, I may go see it just to be "enlightened" by someones view other than mine, or my family and friends. I don't approve of the anti-president message, but to each their own I guess. The USA Today made a big deal of a scene in which Bush learns of the attacks in the classroom. Personally, I would react the same way. Would anyone really know how to react to that news? I applaud the president for letting the news sink in, staying calm, and then doing what he was at that school to do in the first place. I actually did the same thing that day at school. I watched the news most of the day, and thought about everything. I completed my school day, like I was supposed to, and then went home to confer with my advisers (parents). I will write up more after seeing the film hopefully this weekend or beginning of next week. I will have to convince the girlfriend that I won't have any outburst during the movie. Prayers will probably be needed for her sake. She knows how I react when people start bashing the president.
  14. I managed to get in and see Fahrenheit 9/11 last night. I was surprised when I reached the first theater and was turned away at 5:30pm because the 7:20pm show was sold out. Not wanting to wait for the 10:20pm show, I opted for another theater. Luckily, the other theater wasn't sold out....yet. I bought my tickets when it was only 80% sold. It eventually sold out. At the end of this movie, the theater erupted in applause and somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 the crowd was on their feet. As for the movie itself, I am amazed. After reading all the reviews, I went in expecting it to be kind of weak. It wasn't. I highly recommend seeing the film for yourself. A review or critique just won't give you enough information. It really has to be experienced.
  15. Saw this last night with the wife. We liked it a lot. It is definately not for the younger kids this time since there were a few scenes that made my wife jump out of her seat. It follows the book quite well and there is only one thing that disappointed me but I will save it for later since I do not want to say anything till others have seen it. It is being released on IMAX as well but we were not there in time to see it on the HUGE screen....I really wanted to see it on IMAX. Anyways - This is a great movie for everyone but those under 10. The actng is great for these superstar kids, the special affects are outstanding and the entertainment is wonderful. We gave it a 85/100. P.S. Hermanie / Emma Thompson is turning into a real hottie!!
  16. I liked it! Anyhow, probably not one that I would sit down for until a year or two from now as the re-watch value wasn't particularly high. Acting was great and it was just a simple, nice story. Fantastic direction too. Kinda a feel good movie, but not really? Anyhow, I give it a whopping 89/100 because it does what it sets out to do beautifully.
  17. William Dafoe and John Malkovitch. Anyone seen it? Pretty cool flick, very appealing to anyone who really appreciates movies. I wont bore you with a recap...but I will say this. It took an inordinately long time to get this movie from Netflix, and the DVD has the last chapter and a half scratched too badly to play in my DVD player! ! ! I had to go read the ending of the movie online...and it was a cool ending too Oh well, my score: 81/100 but tough to rate as I cant even think of anything to compare this film to!
  18. Wish me luck! I hope I can make it on Saturday. Thursday Bad Religion Tiger Army New Found Glory NOFX And more! I REALLY want to go. My wife was asking me about it like a month ago...how cool is that!?
  19. Watched it last night with the wife and I had been looking forward to it like I look forward to falling down a flight of stairs. I was surprised! Not overly sappy at all, a simple story that has something to say to EVERYBODY (not just chicks), and was done superbly. Cinemetography was gorgeous. Acting was terrific. The story was simple and pleasant and told well. This wasnt meant to be an epic blockbuster, just a pleasant story to be enjoyed with a loved one (or alone) and a good bottle of wine. My score 4.5 stars/5
  20. Forgot to post this. I watched it a long time ago. It was one of the worst movies i've seen. Do not rent this movie. I repeat do not rent
  21. how was it. ebert and roeper gave it 2 thumbs up.
  22. Any lyric for whatever reason hit you hard? A short time after 9/11, during a pretty deep Hendrix kick, this lyric from "Power of Soul" hit home for some reason Kinda how the song starts off before the verses and that.. Great song b.t.w. if you like the blues. Hendrix Was the blues.
  23. I had never heard of this movie when I saw it on the shelf. It looked like it may be another good comedy so I tried it out. (I have the new Blockbuster, rent as many as you like each month for $24, account). I put it in and it started out a bit like a Tarantino flick with the flashbacks and working from different viewpoints. It was labelled as a comedy and I did get some good laughs, one scene had me almost crying it was so funny to me. Overall it was not great though. The story was pretty good and something new, the acting was mediocre (especially john cleese), the filming was decent. The comedy was middle-of-the-road. While I did enjoy the entire movie I still give it a 71/100.
  24. So I thought this would be a great rental since it looked like it could be a funny movie, maybe on par with Half-Baked. If you love skateboarding then rent it, some of the stuff is amazing. Even if you cannot skateboard but like to see some cool things, rent it. Otherwise just pass it by... The acting is pretty weak. The story is taken straight from the hollywood, group just needs one shot, cookbook. The comedy is mostly weak, althought I did get a few good laughs in some parts, the wife even laughed at a couple scenes. Anyways - it gets a 65/100. If you are a skateboarding diehard then it is probably a 78/100.
