Mad Bean November 1, 2004 Share Mad Bean Member November 1, 2004 I just spent the day at the Jacksonville (Florida) Naval Air Station to see the air show. What an incredible day. The planes were just awesome. Jacksonville NAS is the home of the Blue Angels and were the feature of the show. Here some pictures that I took today. This is the pilots in formation right before take off Me and my son with some of the crew members. We got some autographs too. An F-14 Tomcat. Absolutely incredible. This thing was incedibley loud. They did a lot of passes along the runway and that's when most of the pics were snapped off. If you have never heard a hornet come screeching across the big blue sky, what a sound. And the sound sets off everyone's alarms. What a laugh. gOOters November 1, 2004 Share gOOters Member November 1, 2004 Heehee, thats fun Beaner! My work shares tarmac with a Naval base, and about 3 months ago, there was a Skipper retiring over there. They took him up in an F-14D (the F14 is now retrofitted with F110-GE-400 Engines...29K lbs each!!!) and made him toss his cookies. It was amazing to watch. I work down in the basement right now and the noise from those ABs were shaking the desks! Talk about LOOOUUD! I would assume the F14 was pretty amazing to watch eh?
