Playaa November 23, 2004 Share Playaa Member November 23, 2004 my friends 2 1/2 year old son had a siezure tonight. He had a fever all day and was sleeping all day long...so basically the fever was draining his body of energy and finally it couldn't go on anymore and he started convulsing and he wasn't breathing or responding. Then after he started breathing he still wouldn't respond...he was just staring off into space. Right before they took him to the hospital (the ambulance drivers had checked him out already and said he was gonna be fine) he started crying and asking for mommy...before that he wouldn't say a word, and this is a kid who is just starting to talk alot and you can't shut him up...so for him to just stare into space and respond to nothing was very scary. Anyway, just asking for prayers for the family and that the kid will be ok...that there will be no long term side effects and that he'll get over his sickness. btw, his name is Micheal Higginbotham. Playaa November 23, 2004 Author Share Playaa Member November 23, 2004 update: today the kid is acting totally normal as if nothing happened. The doctors said he has no infections and there won't be any damage...he just got sick, had a fever and had a seizure because his body was drained. They did say there is a 50% chance it'll happen again within the next year though...so keep that in your prayers.
MrDuke February 20, 2005 Share MrDuke Member February 20, 2005 I am late in reading this. I pray everything turns out for the best. Watching little ones go through traumatic times is tough, no doubt about it.
