Back in the day (b4 I had gc tag), this server ran at an amazing 30-50 ms latency with 0 choke and 0 loss. Then it bumbed up to about 50 ms and then 70 and now it rides around 90 pretty constantly. My choke went from 0-average 20 and spikes around 100 and loss started up this week. Anyone else notice the difference the last few weeks? :bang:

I think we all have. Good news is, we've got a couple of people getting to the bottom of it, right now. We've got some GCs looking at the possibility that the loss is coming from a router in Chicago that's a couple of stops away from the GC servers. A router that just about every one of us should hit on our way there.

Hate to tell you this, Norg, but I've been experiencing Aimbot's problem, although not as bad, as well. I've pinged the scopeless server several time on different days and my route DOES NOT run through the router in Chicago. There must be something else going on.

I've got a theory going on the choke, but the loss is new and just started happening this week. I know cause I religiously watch my net_graph.

We are working on it tho if nothing more than throwing around ideas to GSP reps at the moment.

or as WoW technical service calls it..."working as intended."

I just left the server because I was tring to play at over 100 ping and 50 +choke. My loss almost never gets above 5 though. I have looked at other servers and found I have no problems on them. There was a 500+pinger on t5onight, and I was wondering why gc doesn't have a cap. I realize Kru still has dial up(may God have mercy on his soul), but can't the ones who don't pay be gotten rid of?

I am not sure but I think that the connection problems had a toll on the quality of players on the servers also. Seems like there is a lot more bull happenning than there used to be. I think part of it is the regs(most of whom have probably been around longer than i have), stopped showing up, but also when you are a sub 50 server no one wants to get banned. Once you get above that no one cares. Just a thought.

They are working on the choke issue.

As far as the quality of players issue, it's possible that that may be related but I'm not sure. I do think I"d have to agree that lately it seems I've been banning a few more than normal, not significantly more though. The admins do work to make sure that the quality of the servers stay up to or above GC standards though.
