Tek-Almighty April 22, 2006 Share Tek-Almighty Member April 22, 2006 (edited) Ok, I don't know how this is possible but... I still weigh what I did in high school (15 years ago) I've been between 150 and 162 my whold "adult" life. Sad...I suppose. I am 6 ft tall, and even after lifting weights for 1 year straight, I still weigh virtually the same. *shrugs* High metabolism. My father is same way...had same weight from age of 15 to 65. I'm in with the majority of the people. I have a serious weight problem, I swear, my metabolism is non-existant. I take a bite of a burrito, I gain 243467671 pounds. All my life, I've barely eaten anything. I drink milk and water, mostly water, all day, every day. I go an entire day on a bowl of salad, and a sandwich, or something equivalent in that amount and before I got my own place, I was 250+, and now have slimmed down greatly from eating even better and working out. I still look big though, I was built with a large frame As a biologist, I would tell you, that the type of food you eat plays muchly into your metabolism. You need "high input" food, which is food that takes a lot of energy to digest and has a lot of nutrients (not calories)... "Barely" eating anything is actually hell on your metabolism...you have trained your self to store away any calories you ingest, because your body (mostly liver) is in crisis mode. You have taught it to survive and store any calories you put away. Don't do that. Try a bit of dairy, protein, and fruit for breakfast. This will ramp up your metabolism. How much do you sleep? Also: Tons of water... Multivitamin...(try something with Coenzyme Q10 and Milkthistle [herb]) 2-3 miles of walking per day. Lots of veggies and good protein for dinner (no fat...it is a metabolism destroyer!). Go to bed hungry, but with some tea or water in your stomach. Good luck!
