Reckless January 25, 2008 Share Reckless Member January 25, 2008 I know my membership is as old as a pair of Hellbound’s socks , but I would like to give my input about the COD4 server. I do not think putting the server on hardcore is going to create the type of server environment we’re looking for. I do have an agenda here and that is A I like normal or stock servers better and B would like to play on a stock server more often because I’m hoping to compete with my team in the stock league. Now with that said, no matter what the GC community decides hardcore or stock, I will be playing on the server with you guys because I enjoy playing with all of you. My personal reasons why I don’t think this server should be hardcore: Hardcore more than others promotes camping, nad spamming and noobtoob spamming. I know there are a lot of very successful hardcore servers out there, but most of them are lots of people in, and lots people out, with little to no respect for the server or the people that play there. We are looking to build a community, a server where we hope top players and squads come to play and have fun and one day join GC. Now I know not all of hardcore servers are like that, I’m just saying in general. p.s if we are going to do hardcore night like hardcore Wednesday’s or hardcore Friday’s I ask that we advertise its so are core players knows what nights to expect it
Fatty January 25, 2008 Share Fatty GC Founder January 25, 2008 nad spamming That doesn't sound fun at all..... PS. I'm in 100% agreement with this. Build the community....
Allanon January 25, 2008 Share Allanon Member January 25, 2008 I'm convinced too... thinking of making the server permanently regular except for Wednesdays... and going to add a line in the sever messages to announce that every Wednesday will be hardcore night. Unclean January 25, 2008 Share Unclean Member January 25, 2008 Personally, I'm not sure why we have "hardcore wednesdays". The people in this community that like the hardcore mode haven't been joining on Wednesdays unless they're aliasing. I say we drop hardcore nights completely, so we don't have to worry about one of us forgetting to switch back to stock, and it doesn't throw off our playerbase on Wednesdays. JackieChan January 25, 2008 Share JackieChan GC Alumni January 25, 2008 We should get a bunch of GCers or whatever and see what competitive CoD4 is like. I'm curious, but not sure if I'd get into it hardcore-like.

I'm curious, but not sure if I'd get into it hardcore-like. its the PAM mod p90 was nerfed, no grenade launchers, the only perks are bandolier, stopping power, sleight of hand, deep impact, iron lungs you only get 1 flash/smoke and 1 nade...no stuns you get to choose whatever gun you want as you spawn, levels dont matter. First thing tbh, is to ensure a solid player base, not only in numbers, but in regulars and GC members contributing to the community and forums as well as the server. I agree that HardCore Wednesdays should be put on hold for the moment. I also think we should pick a night where we all log in and keep the server completely full with reserves to encourage some traffic on our forums and possible memberships. Fatty January 25, 2008 Share Fatty GC Founder January 25, 2008 Yup...need people returning because of: 1) server quality 2) people quality When you see someone for the second time, ask them why they came back. Then tell them you're glad they noticed the quality, and you're glad they're back.

Then just change your CoD4 MP icon target location to this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\iw3mp.exe" +connect 216.52.148.155:28930 Or wherever your game is held. It'll let you connect directly from the icon that way (thanks unclean). Edited January 27, 2008 by DarkArchon
Tek-Almighty January 27, 2008 Share Tek-Almighty Member January 27, 2008 Thanks for input... I was doing everything right (1.4, ip addy, etc...) Punk Buster wasn't. I had to uninstall and reinstall 2x before it would finally initialize for COD4... So I got in last night. Pretty fun game, but because of ISP bandwidth and noise on my end...it does get a little choppy from the MW to Seattle.
