Lookback April 30, 2012 Share Lookback Member April 30, 2012 Hi, just an FYI that when I go to look at the stats or bans pages, I see the page for about 1 second and then it tries to forward me to a sweepstakes page that is blocked by my Malware software. I'm sure there was a reason but we can do that you know; we've got the room. Anyways, not our DNS which was one of the two things I was worried about. Number two of course being our webserver but we are clean (of course) as l4d2stats is hosted elsewhere. Dreamhost. On a box/ip that has 17 other entities on it. Including at least 2 porn sites. One of which also has the malware warning from Chrome. And yes, I get the Chrome malware warning going to our stats page too. That hasn't stopped. Take your pick: 1) Box is rooted and malware is sloshing around. 2) Your/our specific stats instance has been hacked. 3) False positive from Chrome as spill-over from other sites on same IP/Box having malware. Possibility is low. The Boy Scout site and dead blog were both fine... http://www.webboar.c...73.236.189.139/ if you wish to poke the other sites on the same IP/Box yourself. Recommendation? Take a hard look at your stats install over there. Check the logs for SQL intrusions (new accounts, etc.). Check whatever support forums exist for the stats package and see if getting hacked is something that can/has happen(ed). Change PWs. If the stats package is actually fine (ie not been hacked or prone to hacking) let's get to work on moving it here or elsewhere. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In all my yrs of perusing the intertubes, not once ever has Chrome installed something malicious no matter the site. Same can't be said for IE, but I just ignore those warnings most of the time. The stats/sourcebans system will have to be reinstalled but the database may be fine (I don't know what it should look like). Just deleted the A record. Stats and Sourcebans will stop working soon. The feed from the game server needs to be restored. Its no longer feeding stats into the database. So nothing has been recorded since mookie took the original site off-line. Should be a simple fix. If anything, your stats will be what they were on the 29th of April. Everything is installed properly (updated the links under the banner on the L4D root forum page), just need to set one other thing up before it should start accepting stats given the server doesn't need a restart. The links at the top of the L4D2 forum have been updated with the new URL, Sam. It may need a reset. The stats page still isn't showing anyone online and it still says that Maestro hasn't played since Apr 30. I was impressed at how fast we dealt with the overall problem. I made sure our DNS and server were fine. Mookie drilled thru the actual stats/bans php and sql stuff to see where the crap was. And after some rudimentary work on my part to get our webserver and the game server to talk nicely to one another YerMother will take over this evening to fix everything up.
