what is the point in getting cases and such if you never get keys to open them?

It's how Valve can make extra money for pricing their game at 15 dollars.

That and the 10% or so they get from every transaction in the marketplace. Its a gold mine for valve.

I have a sticker bubble and a weapons case but will never be able to buy keys so it really sucks

Sell your huntsman case before the price drops too hard. Then use the money to buy keys.

 

I always sell new cases the moment they drop until the price goes under 1 dollar.

If you don't want to link a credit card to your account just buy a $20 pre-paid steam wallet card to at least set up your Steam Wallet and get going. I usually charge mine up before a big Steam sale and will use the remainder to pick up odds and ends like DLC or cards. The Steam Spring sale should be coming soon. I have a case that needs a key so I'll probably drop for that after I fill up on cheap games.

Does steam not let you sell unless there is a credit card?

You have to have bought something on Steam before you can sell on the marketplace. That's it.

It's even more silly. You have to have made a purchase and then wait 30 days or something like that.

 

You can always trade cases for skins from other people.
