Little history lesson about Croatia

as a country it is fairly new. But unofficially it has existed far back, almost longer than some of the most known countries. Back in the day (shakesperean) it was called Illyria. It was then part of the ottomon empire. Then in the 1900 it was part of Austria-Hungary. Then after WW1 it became a part of Yugoslavia. Then recently in 1993 if i am correct it split and became it's own country (after a war between the Croats and serbs).

Yugoslavia used to be (if i am correct)

Slovenia

Croatia

Serbia

Macedonia

Montenegro

Bosnia and Hercegovina

slowly each of these regions broke away. i dont remember the exact order i think it was Slovenia and Macedonia first. Then Croatia and Bosnia-Hercegovina (Bosnia and Hercegovina was part of Croatia back then). Then Bosnia seperated from Croatia. So we let them (no war cuz we're good people). Then now recently Kosovo wanted to seperate and there was a war as we all know. Now montenegro wants to seperate.

and that is your lesson for Balkan history 101.
