Playaa November 26, 2003 Share Playaa Member November 26, 2003 so I have some...................news. This Friday I'm moving. I'm moving into a friends house and paying rent. Along with that rent comes.......BUM BUM BUM BUUUUUUUM! BROADBAND! Playaa will be back lads and lasses.... so with that said. CoD seems to be where the majority of the community is moving to...would I be smart to buy this? Remember I'll be broke now... Should I get CoD, or BF 1942 or just stick it out with CS? [Mmmm]Homer November 26, 2003 Author Share [Mmmm]Homer Member November 26, 2003 I just completed the SP CoD last night and have yet to try MP. I have high hopes for it. BF1942 has great MP, and the free add-on of DC makes it a 2 for 1. I'd have to say go for BF1942 for the bang for the buck factor, and you might be able to find a cheap copy - Newegg has BF1942 OEM for $31. SwOOp November 27, 2003 Share SwOOp Member November 27, 2003 I have been playing Desert Combat MP like mad lately, what with all the time off I've had for being sick and whatnot. Man it is a blast. I love the choppers and jets. It is a really fun game that is only better when proper teamwork is used. I think this game definitely thrives more on teamwork as compared to CS. If any of y'all have a DC clan or are starting one up, let me know. You can be my wingman anytime

General J November 30, 2003 Share General J Member November 30, 2003 What exactly is desert combat? Is it an add on for something else or stand alone?
dwEEziL November 30, 2003 Share dwEEziL Member November 30, 2003 It is an add-on mod for BF1942 (like CS originally and still is for HL). You can find it at http://www.desertcombat.com.

[Mmmm]Homer November 30, 2003 Author Share [Mmmm]Homer Member November 30, 2003 Gaming-wise, I think that Call of Duty and Desert Combat are where it is at right now. If you really are a gamer you should be playing both! They are different styles completely, but contrast nicely I think. COD is like an amped-up Day of Defeat with a SP game definitely worth playig through (dare I make comparisons to HL as far as the dev team's innovativeness?) If you saw Band of Brothers, Enemy at the Gates, and The Longest Day and wanted to play them as a game they are all in COD! Brecourt Manor taking out the guns, Carentan, Pegasus Bridge, crossing the river with Stukas overhead and taking up position in Stalingrad - it's all in there! gOOters November 30, 2003 Share gOOters Member November 30, 2003 I have BF and DC. I like them...I live for CS...but I played CoD this weekend in SP, and i was terrific!!! Definately a must have, it is on my Christmas list, I think I liked it quite a bit more than BF or DC.
