  1. behehehehe. i was just poking at you. i'm quite happy taking care of gc member requests...especially our inaugural member! keep the feedback coming...
  2. beavis, how would you feel about a backup/xtra position?
  3. http://www.realvnc.com great (free!) remote desktop tool that compares in most regards to pc anywhere. it's what i use on a daily basis to beat works content filtering service....which has since blocked gamerscoalition.com due to excessive traffic (view new post, coffee, view new post, coffee. repeat)
  4. first, i'm developing a hate for you amd guys and your stability. <me throws a stick in your heatsink fan> ok, hate aside. second, cujo, what kind of psu do you have? i'm running an antec true power 430w, which in some haze of confusion i may have misinterpreted as enough juice. that'd be super duper dope if you were onto something. i don't think anyone has second guessed my psu yet, so if nothing else, hat tip for the creative suggestion... third, cujo, lock your doors. i'm coming for your raid storage.
  5. beavis - you did notice this map was removed from the west mapcycle after you joined gc and after you made your request, right? you do remember this is one of my favorite source maps (RIP de_inferno), right? now go tell your cs playing friends which admin loves you. now it's time to start searching the web for a hot custom map to throw in for freshnesss.... as always, i encourage input on how OUR server is run.
  6. nice, pull up a seat and make yourself comfortable. welcome aboard!
  7. thanks for coming by, guys. gc in numbers is a great thing for a new server in a new region, and every appearance helps. maybe we'll throw a costume party next time....
  8. "someone robbed me, but i don't know where they came from, where they were going, what they looked like....but i do know there were six of em."
  9. shhh, neither have we. that's why it's going to be fun to whoop on everyone
  10. we're able to react better if there are specific names and steam id's cited.
  11. csls tried to crash the party and steal all the punch and pie early. there's still plenty for everyone, come and get it. 6pm PST/9pm EST.
  12. i'm telling you, the worst players organized are better than the best single player (most times). shortdogg worked up some csls kids, they came west, and t's came back from a 7-1 defecit to have the timelimit reached with cts 9, ts 8. i went 6-10, but started chatter on the mics. everyone else starts taking it sersiously, and bam, csls packs their bags and goes back to chicago. i can't wait for this 4v4 tourney.
  13. hrm. time for more coffee. i knew chip douglas, but didn't connect the lord chip douglas until, well, still fuzzy. coffee, more, now.
  14. is he using xp pro or home? i've got $5 he's using home. edit: just read that link--keep in mind, the ips you try to connect to need to have a vpn server enabled. from what i remember, this is only an option on nt4server, win2k server, win2003 server, etc. NOT XP--that only works for client connection, and chances are vpn client only exists in pro.
  15. wow dude, wow. timberlake. seriously? wow. through various support groups, i've learned to embrace the fact my polish genes weren't meant to groove. not in any rhythmic way, atleast.
  16. nice thought on the router option, berge. my linksys will pass it through, but doesn't have a built in server. if yours (or anyone's does), plz let me know. fyi - a quick scan of download.com didn't show much in the way of freeware, most were in the ballpark of $300+ for a vpn server suite...
  17. open house for all gc'ers tonight at 6pm PST (9pm EST) on the west coast cs:s server. stop by and show your support. if your ping won't take it, understood. punch and pie will be served. viva la revolution.
  18. look into setting up a vpn. one machine has to provide a vpn server (which doesn't have to be a dedicated machine), and all others need to connect to that server using a vpn client. all those machines become virtual lan clients of the host computer, and can operate is if they were on a lan in terms of network permissions...generally. to be honest, i don't know how to set this up with ms only. at work, we typically use sonicwall, cisco, or adtran vpn...which is all proprietary and not free. try download.com, tucows.com, or wait for a better idea from another member.
  19. ...or if you've never seen "the cable guy." this is on my todo list, right after skydiving. edit: crap - nearest is socal, a good six hour drive.
  20. wicket (for your lift ticket). skiing or snowboarding?
  21. yeah yeah yeah. "back in the day..." i was an amd kid, then had three processors smoke out. went intel, and have been waiting to jump ship ever since. think i could borrow a few bucks?
