  1. Dang, you beat me to it!! My life will be GONE when this game comes out. I watched the gameplay trailer and I was floored. It's everything I hoped and more. I always said that even if they took the original D2 engine and made a same game with new same gfx, but new items and story, I'd play it all over again. It's not going to be epic as other games I've played, but I expect to play this game longer than I've ever played any other (MMORPGs don't keep me around long, so it's rare I stick to one game.)
  2. You guys all have such extravagant sounding lunches! Whatever happened to peanut butter sandwiches, pizza pops, etc.!? I had two pogos. Microwaved, with just mustard. Beat that.

    Distraught

I'm really sorry to hear that, Mo. Wish I could say something else, but the article clearly details how senseless the killing was and there's nothing good you can say about that. Just keep in mind all the things you still have in life and take this time to both remember what you've lost, and appreciate the things you have. I hope you and everyone else involved can find justice and resolution.
  4. I work as a chef at Gryphs sports bar at the university of Guelph now, while I also attend school there. It's funny, a friend of mine told me to get out of Taco Bell as soon as I could because its like a disease that takes hold of you, and I just said "It's not that bad." Now that I'm at a new job, I can't believe the garbage I put up with while I was there.
  5. Oh, man that was hilarious! And somehow, strikingly true at the same time. Maybe a fast food chain will view this and actually try the idea.

  7. Must...refrain...from posting...derogatory comments about our Canadian "brothers"!!!! :freak3:
  8. I've never had that noise problem at all, mine's worked flawlessly. I'd definitely go with the PS3. Works just as well, extra functionality and a lower price - it should be a no brainer. Not to mention upcoming release of the greatest game (movie?) ever.

  10. Oh! Oh! Oh! I've ALWAYS wanted to do this!! Good work SJ, I'll take the other side. $6802!! (No, my vote is not real)
  11. It wasn't too hard, I just found the story cutscenes boring - while there were a few neat action scenes, watching dialogue between any of the characters reminded me of the Matrix. The voice actors try so hard to make their characters sound cool, they forgot to make them sound authentic. It's a great game standing alone, which is why I played it, but I felt it didn't capture the heart of the original game at all. The originals, to me, came off as a light-hearted drama first, set in an action setting with a fast paced techno soundtrack. The new ones are "bad-to-the-bone" action flicks with a Japanese motif. To me, they're polar opposites and Itagaki is literally the reason for it, as he stated in many interviews. The first line is meant to be humourous, as I said, it doesn't REALLY bother me, but I'm hoping with him gone, they can take the series in a better direction. The very first Ninja Gaiden (with the other two not far behind) is not in my top ten only because its such an old game now. I used to play it over and over again when I first got it (and I only beat it about twice). @Boiler: If you want a good action game, you should get it. It is very hard, though, but skilled players shouldn't have much trouble. @Voodoo: Surprisingly, I didn't mind that one because that was the purpose of the game. Well...except to play volleyball, I suppose...
  12. http://kotaku.com/5012535/itagaki-leaving-tecmo-suing-tecmo "NINJA GAIDEN 2, which will launch on the 3rd of June will be the last NINJA GAIDEN I will create. I will also never be able to make DEAD OR ALIVE 5." Music to my ears. Maybe now he'll stop butchering what was once a great series and demeaning both men and women alike with overly accentuated, one-dimensional characters. Not that it really bothers me, mind you, but I've never liked violence and sex for the sake of violence and sex in any media form. I loved all the original Ninja Gaidens, can't stand any of the newer ones and DOA is a joke of a fighting game compared to, well, just about any other fighting game. So, this is nothing but good news to me.

Actually, after that, things went well enough. I had some trouble on the last mission because of the wonky camera when getting on the bike near the end (and twice he went for the ladder instead of the bike, even when standing right next to it) causing the guy to get away many times (this is the 'revenge' ending btw). I didn't save before the deciding choice that determines the ending, but there's no way I'm playing through it again. The gameplay is so repetitive and frustrating, I can't be bothered. After finishing the game, I think I'd lower my score to 8.0.

I beat it today on my second attempt by luck. I fell off and got back on, only to see him coming down the road towards me. I wasn't even sure if he was invincible or not because I'd unloaded whole clips before and he didn't fall off. But I tried it again and he went down from the first bullet. Haven't been any missions like that since. Feels like the story's getting dragged on a bit at this point, though.

Well, I just quit for the day after throwing my controller down in frustration, which I haven't done in a long time. I'm on this stupid missions where you have to chase a biker down on a bike of your own (you have to use the bike). It's a long chase and one screw-up is usually the end. I'm fine as long as the cars stay out of the way, but man, I swear they're pre-coded to change lanes when you're coming up behind them. I had two cabs literally collide into each other in the middle of the road as I tried to pass between - these things happen so fast, no amount of reflexes can save you. I quit after attempt #5. Man, this game is annoying.

Brucie's the best. Anyone else is a distant second. His later cutscenes are even better. But man, playing some of the missions last night was driving me nuts. The cover system is really annoying, especially in dark, enclosed spaces. You hit R1 to get off the wall cause youre getting pelted with bullets and he just hops onto another one. You think you're free and start trying to run, only to get stuck onto the wall for another few seconds (in which you're probably dead by then). Cops are getting to be a real pain when you got to shoot someone through the streets. Having cops shoot you from one direction and your targets shooting at you from another can make you die in an instant. Anyway, I don't want to give a full review, but IGN's 10 is way too much. This game's about an 8.8

The one thing this game needs is a good/evil system kinda like KOTOR. I don't like doing missions for the jerk characters like Vlad and bugging innocent people for "protection" money and stuff. You should be able to reject and take a different route and change the story up, but I guess they could only do so much. Otherwise, I'm enjoying it - not too great, not bad at all for me. The best part, was yesterday, when we first loaded it up, my brother and two of our friends were there and we were all screaming "RUN OVER THE OLD LADY! PUNCH OUT THE JEWISH GUY! SHOOT THE COP!" I haven't laughed so hard for so long in ages. Needless to say, the very first thing we did (and I'm sure some of you did) was ran right across the street and showed that hot dog vendor who's boss.

    Amazing!

It's also incredibly, incredibly depressing to us twenty-two year olds struggling through our first year....

  22. (No wonder he's got nearly 10k posts...) But I'll admit to being completely fooled, after all, some members have posted far more personal topics before. But that certainly is ... a lot of time on your hands ...
  23. As much as everyone was joking around, the truth rings through a bit, huh? Even though its manly and boastful to say "I'll just do it my way and if she don't like it, tuff!", like I said, it only leads to a confrontation. I can't believe I'm saying this, but, DR. PHIL would say "If something isn't working, don't keep doing it". Change your strat right away. Honestly, maybe its just me, but I found every time I acted like a victim, rather than trying to control a girl, their guilt usually makes them see things my way. That's the only advice I can give, cause its all I've ever done. It's no Maddox method, but like I said, it works.
