Yea Ive been working with computers since 88' and every new windows os that comes out I think to myself "Maybe this will the the best of them, maybe just maybe!". But as usual its not. Win xp is actually pretty good though if you dont mind some minor or not minor bugs.

Hello all, I own a small computer repair shop thats doing good business with pc's and linux based computers. But recently there have been a lot of Mac owners needing hardware and software troubleshooting help. The last time I used a Mac was the Apple 2e that I still have in my basement! I usually have to turn them away as Im unable to help them and the local Macintosh shop isnt well staffed or managed. I hate to do it but I cant give good custmer support to a product Im not familier with. Any of you Mac addicts out there know of any good manuals on current Mac OSX and hardware troubleshooting books please let me know. Also its that time again. I have to take the A+ hardware/software, MCSEWinXP, CCNA and Linux/Unix Certifications again. Im confident I can pass the exams easily but would like feedback from you folks on good study guides for the tests. Thanx, The Rev.

In the time I was in the military Ive been to Iraq twice (desert storm, Iraqi Freedom) Bosnia and Haiti. Sveral times I was asked to go out into the field with the marine or army medics to retreive the bodies of those soldiers and marines because I was older than most and they thought that I was able to deal better with the psychological issues that might arise from seeing things like this than much younger soldiers or marines might not be able to cope with. Well I can tell you that somtimes I see these things when I sleep. I hear some people that have never been in the military and critisize our service men and woman and not the govt that sent them there. This makes me angry. Two people that I knew for twelve years in my army reserve unit fell beside me when we were on our way to take nasiria from the Iraqis during a convoy, people that I got drunk with during annual training, went to movies with and even had sex with one of their sisters!LOL. Many countrys complain that we try to police the world and in a way maybe we do. George bush didnt liberate Iraq, we did. Even after all the complaining from these countrys guess who gets the call to solve their problems, the US military in some form or another. A lot of these countrys should really be doing more to get in our good graces and solve their own problems before berating us. Your friend SGT. Boys and girls I didnt know this could happen. Ive heard of it bit never happened to me until today. I was playing dust 2 and approaching the T spawn as a CT when out of nowhere a T threw a flashbang at me. It didnt detonate right away but hit me in the head. I died because I only had 1hp left and that hit killed me!LOL Then it flashed. In all the years playing thats a first for the Rev. Anybody else have similer storys on that let me know. Ever since Halflife, TFC and CS (and even Duke Nukem Online LOL) the Rev has been on the net. Unfortunately less scrupulouse individuals decided to ruin everything and start hacking (Yes there were even hackers on Duke online!). Now lately there have been a whole new spate of hackers in CS. The following are the taglines of clans whos sole purpose of playing in CS is to hack and ruin everyones game: Myg0t (the Revs been on a holy war with these losers for years since I started the Syndicate clan) [sS] - These guys arent as troublesome as Myg0t but still a pain in the butt [sA] - though similer to SS, they are mainly noob hackers, ie base cheats. But watch for Myg0t because they can actually add you to the banned list of a server that they arent even the admin of. Yesterday I was playing on a Lanfusion(girlsofCS) server when lo and behold a Myg0t hacker came on and started there usual banter. I told him Myg0t wasnt wanted here and was soon looking at the "Added to ban list" screen. I talked to admins on the Lanfusion site and they said none of them did it and they are looking at the records of how this person did it. The only recourse we have on a server is to votekick if an admin isnt on, but with hackers that doesnt do a whole lot of good when they change there name and come back or just keep leaving and reentering. I would like to ask the powers that be to enable votebanning. I understand that that some individuals may attemt to abuse this privelege but we may nned it. Thanx The REv.

So I figured it was legit enough, and I sent him my address. I soon recieved an email that seemed like it was from paypal. It listed the amount he was paying for. Here's a copy of part of the email: At the time, I was kind of confused by the way it looked, but I let it slide. I then sent him an email saying it didn't contain his shipping address, which is an option you can chose to not send someone on paypal. He sent me back an email saying: So I sent him an email back saying that I suppose he has to send paypal the tracking number, because I found no way to do it. He responded with: That's when I started to realize what was happening. So I went back and looked over his email. I noticed that it was sent from paypalconfirmations@pay-palpayment.com. I went to check out www.pay-palpayment.com and found it wasn't a real site. That's when I got a little flustered. I called up paypal and only got the automated computer, but it told me what I needed to know. It said that the emails from paypal should look a certain way. This email I got from a previous paypal payment follows their guidlines: As you can see, there are quite a few differences between the two emails. I went and checked ebay, the member just joined the same day I got his email. I checked yahoo, where he is a new member. I knew what was going on and I sent him an email saying: I called up the FBI, but their lines were busy. So I sent them a very descriptive email saying the exact same thing here. I'm happy I avoided a scam, and there's still time to sell my laptop. Maybe one of you want to buy it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Keen eye man. Glad to see some loser didnt get a chance to rip you off.

Just read another story about Pat Tillman. Pat was a NFL prospect that was offered a multimillion dollar nfl player contract. Right after the 911 attacks he turned it all down and went into the army to go to afghanistan. There he died during an encounter with the Al-qaida and Taliban forces. A true patriot and soldier. Howdy gang Remeber back in day when we all started to play CS for the first time back in '00 or so? whats the first thing you learned? was it how to team speak, hack (God forbid and we hate you), setup your keyboard the way you like it, or maybe it was stomping the 56k'ers with your blazin ISDN line (LOL) or cable modem. What the rest of us learned is this: Dont team flash and dont stand in the galdarn doorways! This is easy. The first guy in the charge tosses the fb's, HE's or whatever. Not the guy in the middle or the rear. All you end up doing is blinding the rest of us. Its true somtimes we all miscalculate and an fb bounces off the wrong way, it happens. But what we see a lot is a great many "loners" who dont really care what the rest of the team is doing and have there own agenda. Like throwing fb's into a room that they know there teammates are in as well as the enemy just to get some frags. Usually at the expence of the rest of us in the room. Im not saying run with the group all the time, but please use fb's or HE's (if ff is on) sparingly. The second thing is probably the most annoying of all, The infamouse door blocker! Why he does it we may never know. Maybe he lagged at that critical point? It happens. Maybe he changed his mind and couldnt go back because the bunch of muldoons behind him all cant seem to back up. Or maybe they do it on purpose, who knows. We catch ourselves doing it by accident somtimes. But nothing stops a good rush of 24 terrorist muldoons than one doofus stopping at a seriouse bottleneck like a doorway where quickly getting to a good firing position is crucial. Folks if you must stop in a doorway or cramped space please step to one side so the rest of us crazy muldoons can barrel through to our deaths! Thanx, The Rev.

Hello guy and gals just a quote from the Rev. The great master of the Art of War (not the Wesley Snipes movie) once said to a pupil: "One should not use a hammer to remove a fly from a friends head". What does this mean you might think? Folks it has to do with overkill. Take for instance yesterday when I was playing CS in dust3. I was waiting for the T's to barrel through the door as usual to meet the mighty Deagle when I got flashed. Normally Im used to this and my screen gos complete whiteout for a full 10 secs (Dont know why, I was told it had somthing to do with my model monitor) but anyway. As I was able to see again I was hit with 6, yes thats 6 (SIX) consecutive flashbangs. Why you might be asking would someone toss a total of seven fb's into a room? to disorientate? sure, but how long did they wait outside the door for them all to dissipate? And as I was standing there I noticed before the whiteout that 3 of there own teammates came up the stairs and also recieved a triple dose of the same overkill that stopped me.
