I guess my next question would be, any recommendations? Personally I don't enjoy FPS games on console, I haven't played one since Golden Eye, and probably never will again only because of my PC. I do like Madden, but then again football season is almost over.

Overclocking anything? If yes, set everything to stock. Check temps of cpu motherboard and video card. Swap out memory if you have more then 1 stick. Install anything new, especially drivers? If all of that fails, if you have an extra PSU try swapping it out with a different one, if it still fails, you have a faulty part of some sort (probably RAM, but it could be anything).

Just got my PS3 ordered last week, should get it in anytime. If anyone has any "used" non-scratched working games they no longer play (AND are good games) that they are looking to get rid of hit me up! Not looking for GH or Rockband, too much S### to deal with.

I would suggest not using beta's and not using 3rd party drivers. Use the acutal NVidia drivers from their page. Also make sure you properly uninstall the old drivers and clean out the registry before installing the new ones. DO NOT install new drivers over old ones. It looks like a specular or bumpmap problem from the way the textures look. Try deleting your config and autoexec if you are using one, and let the game reset itself. ALT - TAB has always been an issue no matter what card you are running in source, if you do it during a map change, or while in the splash screen before or between joining a new server it will do that or, better yet, when I do it, you get the purple textures and boxes. Try WHQL certified drivers from NVidia first, see what that does.

Wow, that sounds like a ton of fun to set up! I did some research at work today, and finally started coming up with different ways to do it. I found the TVersity program that you guys mentioned, and since it's free, it sounds like it should work perfectly. I also found out that DNLA can be software supported (WMP11). So, I can go either way, the only problem with WMP is that it does not handle too many codecs, but that should not be a problem using the TVersity. Thanks for all of the help. I figured after 3? years of having the PS3 out, Sony would have come up with something half decent to connect everything. On a side note. I did little research on DNLA, (referring to the samsung tv reply) basically you just have to go into settings and it will "wirelessly" more like bluetooth I believe, find other objects that support DNLA and connect together, so you can play your PS3 "wirelessly" to you TV. Which sounds pretty sweet... if I'm right. But again, a big thanks. Between getting a PS3 and making a HTPC, PS3 is the "bang for the buck". If I'm wrong let me know!

That is something that I did not notice before, the DLNA that is. Too bad that I have no device that will connect with it. From my knowledge, you would think that the PS3 being wireless, it would connect to your router, and as long as you are sharing music/movies from your computer it should be able to play them. But I read a few articles that said playing movies was not possible due to no software. The only problem is all of the articles are old, and I can't seem to find anything on the newer version's of PS3's or any software "hack" or firmware "mod" I could use, and that would be a last resort. Thanks for the info though. I don't know why I didn't see that before hand, it's just too bad that most of the products that support that are either brand new, or really expensive...

I've been looking into getting a PS3 for some time now, and have been interested in the capabilities of using it not only for games and BLuEray, but also to watch media/play songs from my computer through the PS3 onto my TV. I'm sure there is some "easy" way of doing it, and also a "right" way of doing it. Just not sure which is which. If anyone has experience with what I am speaking of please chime in. I am fairly tech "savvy", but I'm having a hard time getting GooGle to cooperate with me in finding this information. OR, if someone has a "better/cost effective" way of doing this, I encourage you to also share your $0.02!! Thanks!

That would be the best answer, however, you don't hear too much about onboard sound "breaking". I know its possible and it DOes happen, it's just rare.

Check the BIOS to make sure that you did not disable onboard sound, then check and make sure you have the onboard sound drivers installed, then make sure your speakers are.. well On, and make sure that sounds are not muted through windows. PSU will NOT be the problem of onboard sound not working.

Actually never thought I would buy at TV online. Was shopping around with a friend a couple of weeks ago just to see where prices were at. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16889102208 Can't beat the instant rebate of $620, when places like Best Buy sell it at MSRP. They even shipped it for free! As for the TV itself, it is amazing, and even though you think "Oh it's 40", that is nothing" it is actually almost too big for how small of a room I'm going to have it in. Also, for all the research I have done, this is probably one of the best TV's you can get now, especially with the price drop. My brother plays his 360 on it, and it is flawless. Also watched NFL/ World Series and its just jaw dropping.

Do you have something in the retro server to try and migrate others to the new server? I don't mind sitting in there till someone shows... but I'm not seeing much of any action on ANY server!

I like that they are going to upgrade the clock for more numbers.... that's optimistic.
