<wonders too> The CT's were overrunning the T's. I was a CT, and said over voicecomm (maybe before you were there, I dunno) that someone needed to go T. I wasn't having a bad day, but knew that I was really not gonna be much help, so I looked at CT and wanted to send over some good guys to T. It was the next round or the round after that I did an 'amx_t db' command. I didn't realize that that just slayed you, and it's prolly cause of the teamlimit cvar. But then you popped off over voicecomm. You were banned via HLSW, which I rarely do, so I didn't hit the bankick, only the ban. That's why you played out the map, I wanted to see if that would let you get to the next round. It did, and so I just kicked you to finalize it. I wasn't in a bad mood or anything. I wasn't playing under an alias, so you had the advantage of knowing who I was. Plenty of people know that I'll kick or slay someone whining. You don't see Mmmm doing that, so why should anyone? But when the comment is directed like "you did this to me" at an admin, I'd rather not deal with that attitude and just send the person away for a day. I'm sorry you got slayed for attempting to be team changed, and that can be looked at server-wise, but I'm not sorry about the ban. Even if a glitch happens like that, it's not a green light to say whatever. BTW, the boards are set up so that only Mmmm can reply. To respond, you need to just edit your post.

It was not for any hax, so there is no demo. CT's were dominating for the most part. I attempted to switch a random player or two, one just happened to be you. All I heard was whining over voicecomm, something about how it caused you to die. Then another comment along the same lines a moment later. Both in an angry tone. Ya know, I almost let it go. I really had no idea who it was, don't really care. It just urks me to try to even teams a bit and get grief for it. And if we don't attempt to even teams, we get grief in the forums. So I banned 'db' for a day for the comments over voicecomm. You might have gotten a better response had you said "hey X, it's moss, trying to switch me ended up killing me". Instead, I'm left to assume you're just another random pubber complaining. It was for 24 hours.

Avoid at all cost if it is a PSC 703 if you want to use it for CS and voicecomm. It simply doesn't work. Spent a long time trying it. Not sure about any others, but that's about what I paid for my philips card at best buy, and could never get it to work with CS for voicecomm. It's sitting in the box in the closet atm. Tried to explain to the tech I spoke with the problem with CS. Just got frustrated after 5-6 e-mails with direct quotes from their website that had nothing to do with the question I asked. Otherwise tho, the sound was good for music and surround sound type stuff.

AMD has caught up in speed. At least, so says this article. And still cheaper. I've not had a single problem with the AMD 1.4 chip I got a year or more ago. Even on a lower end board like the ECS K7S5A, it performs very well. Audigy cards are simply the way to go IMO. Nvidia video card. Western Digital hard drive. 350 watt PSU min. Those are my prefs.

Doesn't seem to work right. Tried different burners and media to no avail. Maybe another day I'll get back to this. For now, 9.0 works fine. I've got about 5 or so copies of it burnt to CD. If anyone would like a copy, just PM me an address and I'll drop it in the mail.

Well, trying different medias and combinations of drives, got 4 or 5 around here, so one should work, I'm hoping. Anyways, another strange thing happened last night. It actually installed, seemed correct and all. Would load into KDE. The login screen however did not allow you to type in a login name, only gave a user list (w/o root) and a password box. But I could login and was somewhat happy. Rebooted twice and it gave that same login, but it worked to get into KDE. Then, 3rd login, it allows for the entry of a user and password. So I go with root and ended up back to where I started, stalled on initializing services, and the HD just running constantly. Reboot, try a different user, same thing. Reboot a few more times and never get the original login screen. So today finds me burning some more potential coasters with different programs and drives. Also trying a upgrade from 9.0 instead of a clean install. Seems to me that the 2nd install disk is the problem on most of the burns, it makes the drive make unusual noises during installation. I've re-dl'ed the iso for that one from a different ftp and same thing.

Have repartitioned and loaded 9.1 up about 8-10 times, have 4 copies of the .iso's burnt to CD, with various programs (most success came burning under 9.0 with X-CD-Roast). Burning it under 9.0 with that made it install a lot faster, 25-30 mins compared to 1+ hours with the other burns. However, no matter which CD set I use, it will not boot into Gnome or KDE. (well, once it did, but few programs were there and it was very unstable) Only thing that will come up is Ice, which is ok to get the servers started and all, but often programs are crashing, it's just not stable. Every program I've tried under it has crashed at one point or another, except for the terminals. Going back to 9.0 atm, then maybe upgrade from that instead of a clean install. Not sure why it's not loading right. Will verify that I did what you said, or just make another copy. Thanks yer and everyone else for the advice.

Ok, I got Easy CD creator 5. It will burn the .iso images to disks, but with a success rate of about 2/3 or less. Updated to the newest version of the software, seems to burn faster, but not sure yet if it's better. I know there's Nero, and some other programs. Any better than what I got here? I tested Nero a year or so ago, and was unimpressed. Drives me crazy trying to burn these Mandrake iso's and get a working disk.

How about this as a resolution: Whining - banned a day Whining about non-existent plugins - banned 2 days (Statsme is not on the servers guys) Whining about your own connection - cya in a week. Policing by community members is good to an extent, but coming in to argue in the forums makes not much sense. There's been enough of the poking here. huhuh, I only suggest that your approach to this is wrong. I'm tired of hearing some of the whining also. There's a line b/w a sportsmanship "oh man" and some of the other stuff. Play the game, play with your team, and, maybe, just maybe, say "good job" to the other team instead of the whining. For anyone whose ego feels this is directed at them, it's not. The morale just needs to be adjusted. No sense in this continuing either, noone's getting banned.....yet Closed.

Anyone can take demos or get information on tk'ers etc. Typing condump in console is easier at getting console info than screenies, but choose your poison and post up if there's a problem. Demos are almost necessary for a suspected hacker. Mmmm just isn't handing out stars and deputizing people. Can't really recommend anyone go looking for trouble either, have fun, let the admins worry about this stuff, but do let us know about the obvious ones.

Sounds like you have *.dem files associated with media player. Go into explorer Tools->Folder Options->File Types and find the DEM extension and take media player out of the 'opens with'. Or change it to geekplay if you have that installed.

Under 18, just can't happen realistically; would require their parents to be present the entire time, which isn't going to happen. 18+ you're safe. For the most part in Ohio, the 18 year old is responsible for themselves. As long as you don't give it to them, you're safe. Simple enough solution: BYOB. Anyone under 21 gets the boot if they're caught with any of it or show up smelling of it. If you provide it to anyone under 21, you're shown the door also.

For reference, highest WonID I've seen is in the 3 million range. Just seems that there are WAY to many numbers there. Just post it up tho, we'll check it out and take care of it.

Your problem is that you don't have geekplay pointed to cstrike.exe or hl.exe (depending on whether you have retail or mod version). If you have retail, add this line to the 'Path to Executable' box (right under the big map box). C:\Program Files\Counter-Strike\cstrike.exe If you have the mod version, add: C:\Sierra\Half-Life\hl.exe This is assuming you installed to standard directories. Then when you double click the file and press play it will work. BTW, if you check the viewdemo box, F2 becomes available to drop down a box to FF, RW, Pause, Slow Down, etc.

h^izzo There are two files zipped in there. First is additional evidence of hacks, the second is the abuse section, very funny. However, I could only get the second file to play with geekplay. It would not play via the viewdemo command in console. Enjoy!!
