Well, I verified that the disconnect is the sound I'm hearing. Put my headphones on and disconnected the mouse from the back of my computer. Anyway, so considering that I've used this mouse without problems since ~ July, I'm not buying into the underpowered port theory. So I guess I'm reverting to my old wireless mouse for now.

This sounds like the problem actually; but its not happening in windows, just while gaming. Also, I've had the mouse since March. There is a comment at the bottom of the thread about 100mA vs 200mA USB power. I have it plugged into the back of my computer.......... so does that rule that out? razer support Oh also, are there system logs I can check to see if I'm getting these notifications for this device?

Just in the last four days or so, I began getting an odd notification sound while playing steam games. I'm not sure if steam is significant or not, I pretty much only play TF2 or CS:S. I'll be playing along, and then I get a notification sound through my headphones (short higher pitched sound followed by a short lower pitched sound). Then my mouse will be useless for about 3 seconds when I get another one of those notifications through my headphones, and then everything is normal again (except for me being dead). Anyway, I noticed it on Friday for the first time, while playing TF2 and remember thinking that at least this doesn't happen during CS. Well, it happens playing source also. I've tried closing all of the crap that runs in my taskbar, but it didn't help. Only thing I haven't tried to close is AVG; gonna try that tonight. Then, I'm gonna uninstall TF2 and Source and reinstall source. The only thing I can think of that has changed is that I had to upgrade TF2 since I hadn't played in so long. Anyone heard of this b4?

I was kidding ... but seriously, I really like the game style of DustBowl, I think there are a few others with that same style; and then there are some complicated ones where I seriously cannot figure out which control point(s) are being fought over. But I've only played for like 3 days, and probably won't be playing anyway. I hate the CTF (2fort) style the most because its sooooooo booooring.
