Doing a little bit of research off what you guys have said posted I'm pretty sure I'm gonna spend about 500 dollars to get a decent laptop that can run most source engine games. Intel hd graphics 3000 seems to be the best integrated graphics for the price range , but hate to get integrated graphics. That first link preacher posted seems to be one of the better deals in the price range. I am gonna try and stay away from refurbished as I have had some bad luck in the past with refurbished items, and the last thing I want is to deal with more RMAs right now. My plan is to use this as a backup computer/mobile computing when not at the house. I'm the one everyone in my family calls if they have computer issues, so being able to have a mobile computer to check stuff on would be a perk. Also would be nice to play some cs:s when I'm at someones house and have nothing else to do. It kinda needs to be good enough to not have to upgrade for at least 2 years. Do you guys think I would be better off going with that first computer preacher posted http://www.newegg.co...N82E16834215120 or add an extra $50-75 dollars and get something slightly better? I have a desktop for that, but the desktop is down atm so I need a backup where I can still play most older games and maybe some sc2 or something. I have no issues having to play a game on the lowest settings as long as the fps are playable. Thanks

Well i'm not looking to play Deux ex:HR or anything newer. If its not in my price range I'll just settle for a laptop that can at least run minecraft. So let me ask it this way, what is the price range for a laptop that could run cs:s or equivalent?

Since my gaming rig is down at the moment, and I've always kinda wanted a laptop now is a good time to get it. I've looked around on newegg,tiger direct, and a few others and found some decent deals. Looking for 300-400 dollar range, willing to go a little more if its worth it but not much. Mainly need it for web browsing, netflix, and some gaming.Since you guys are smarter than me figured you could give me some pointers. Never bought a laptop before so kind of a new area for me. I would think you would have a paper receipt when you received it from ups/whoever. Beyond that what was the main source of communication you two used?

so...whats up with the server? Is appears to be down atm. This is one of the few games this computer can handle that I actually want to play. also can someone re-post the dynmap link? All my bookmarks are on my currently useless gaming rig.

My system is no beast only intel i5 2.67 ghz 8gb ddr3 ram but the real kicker is the Radeon hd 5850 black edition. With that card I have been able to run everything (from crysis 2 to deus ex:Hr) on max settings. Preacher was actually the one who built most of the system I added a few things mainly the video card. Overall (i/o things like mouse/keyboard not included) I spent roughly $1k on it and that was early 2010.

Well I cleaned the card already but I can still take pictures if you want. And I never use canned air when my computer is running(plus im out right now) I just got back from the computer store and he nor I could see any physical damage at all. We did test the video card and it is bad, but so is the mother board :/ So I get to go through the fun process of getting replacements. Figure something went bad with the mobo first and caused the VC to go out or something. I just hope nothing else is bad on it..could be a good month before I get my system back up and running full speed again.

Ok so my computer was working fine last night. turned it on today and got a short beep followed by 2 long beeps. That should mean my video card (radeon 5850). So I removed the card and at first saw nothing short of a coat of dust. Further inspection I saw a blue powdery supstance. I cleaned off what I could see, wish I would have took a picture (it also stained one of the stickers on the card slightly blue). The blue supstance was also slightly on the mobo pci-e connection. I don't know what it is..just wondering if anyone has seen it before or as an idea what it might be. It its not present in a pattern of any kind, 2 different areas on the video card and the one on the mobo pci connection. Cleaned the card up and put it back in the system for the same result. Don't have another pci-e video card to test it out though :/ Also I noticed when i first turned it sounds like the video cards fan is in overdrive. Much louder than usual. Very strange since I was just playing deus ex:hr on max setting with no issues yesterday. I am going to a local computer shop later to test the video card just wondering what the blue stuff could be. Any google search with video card and blue comes up with blue screen of death or something. And no, i have not ate or drink anything I can think of that would ever turn blue or get inside my case.

My comp gets better graphics than the 360 or ps3.

Graphics don't make a game. The game play is unlike anything else I've played. Never been able to manipulate every block in the game to design virtually anything you can imagine. Also there are graphic packs you can download to make it more visually appealing. Don't knock it till you try it. (and no loading it up once looking around and going "ughh" does not count)

lol I've made it a point never to buy anything online anymore if I have had been drinking. I don't see why if you can find someone else who wants it just sell them your account.

I'm not sure if I wanna play 1.8 yet. Not till its mostly bug free and loaded on the .gc server. Not as much fun building something no one will ever see and I want it to be fresh when 1.8 finally does get released. I have mods installed that let me enter "creative" mode already. As much money as notch has made on this game, really wish he would hire a couple more programer to help move things along much quicker and smoother. Heck I'm sure some people would be willing to program for free if given the chance.

Just so you know Notch is the only one working on Minecraft, since 1.6.0 build, so the only real information would be on his Tumblr and Twitter accounts. Minecraft Forums maybe official but the only time Ive seen Notch post in any of those things is when someone post fallacies, other than that he just read them. So far I havent seen anything on his Tumblr and Twitter accounts. The very first link notch was the one who posted it on twitter. Most of the time minecraftforum.net just re-post anything relevant notch said on his twitter or they heard from other means. It may not be 100% perfect all the time but its better than searching through all the tweets to find any good information.

I played the first one too and thought it was great. I never got the second one due to mixed reviews and not really hearing anything great about it.

This game is sweet, only part of the way into it but well done so far.

For anyone who has wondered if it works- it does at least for me. I'm not in the greatest shape at the moment , but after 30 min on the thing doing various exercises I was sore the next day. Dozens of ways to work out, plenty of it challenging. Some of it is fun, have found myself trying to beat a mini-game of some kind then wipe sweat from my forehead.But like anything else it only works if you use it

Since server is gonna reset anyway, can an admin give me a full inventory of TNT so i can pack my tower full of it and watch it go BOOM? We could all take turns blowing up our creations

I like scopeless , like preacher said I would be happy if GC was all scopeless. Some maps are to easily ruled by an awp. though I would miss my scout.
