  1. Not necessarily. If you've been kicked for whatever reason, the game puts a hardcoded timer in which during said time it will say "you are banned from this server" where you can't reconnect, it's something like 5 minutes or so. I've had this issue happen to me at a different server. Given that your name doesn't show up on sourcebans around yesterday (assuming discopanda is your steam name) then, it's probably the above situation. If that's true then none of the admins here "banned" you, just that you got the short stick and l4d2 decided you couldn't rejoin right away. edited: my tinkle poor grammar.
  2. Look for the sims triangle over their head. The scheme is either yellow = T and blue = CT or yellow = enemy and blue = friendly I'm about 95% sure its the former of the 2 choices. Every time I play office I laugh so hard playing T because the models look like 20 year old hipsters. Skinny jeans, hoodie, backpack, sunglasses and converses. Yeah, those pesky eco-terrorists terrorizing black mesa like that.
  3. This pretty much. Your best shot is to get lucky and pray for a server crash.
  4. Teamfourstar did it better, tbh lol. edit: slightly related video starts at 7 min and ends around 7:45 (if you wish to stop watching): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGWPDHrUWko&t=7m

  7. moan????? LAWL HAHAHAHA out of the gutter yuri!
  8. well...if you ever see herpderp cakes. That be me, I love watching/hearing the regulars cry and moan when I'm not direkt.
  9. I'll direct (ha. pun.) dryfire to the thread so we can get the hookup going.
  10. can the whitelist have dryfire's named added to it or is the membership tied to the forum account?
  11. yeah, i didn't know dryfires full account info but I put his steam name and ID in the proper fields in the purchasing system in hopes that it wouldn't screw over all of the automated handling.

  15. Sky alluded to this in a previous topic, but can we get manual reboots of the server please? At this point we're unable to complete one campaign and despite people asking to reboot the server, one hasn't come yet as far as I know. I don't know how often the server gets reset, if reset at all. But the last restart I was present for, we had at least a 3 day uptime before the crashes began again. A daily reboot wouldn't hurt, especially if there's almost an admin on 24/7. Thanks!
  16. Can we have the bare essentials of this as like a welcome menu for people joining the server and on the motd? We're having a large influx of new people who have extreme difficulty understanding basic english commands. It's getting to the point where a lot of the regulars just stop trying because people are unwilling to listen. If anything they would be aware of the commands upon entrance and can't claim ignorance and if they want to know we can just say "look at the motd, or read the intro menu" instead of having to stop in the middle of a round to have to painstakingly explain (read: spoon feed) how to use the command to send their 50-60 points to the rest of the team who's desperately in need of it.
  17. Oh yeah. If it's people griefing, then I'm all mover that.
  18. This is more a directed question at Jackie, but feel free to chime in. Since GC members have a new ability to auto-kick someone when they jointeam from spec, you rightly mentioned that any abuse will be dealt with with a firm pimpslap. I just wanted to see what would constitute abuse (outside of general common-sense) of the auto-kick feature so that it's clear for me as well as the other GC members. On a related note I'm guessing that the auto-kick feature would be more for members whose spot gets pinched for whatever reason? edit: Apologize for the poor spelling of clarification in the title. I hate my r button on my work keyboard, thing sticks so much.
  19. Hey jackie, just to let you know the last patch borked the light system. Not that it's important, but i figured you should know
  20. A lot of the regulars play the shepard. What Herbs does which is what I do, is always keep an eye on the skies. Always be turning to common launch points and shoot anything that moves. It's what meng did, Herbs, Lookback, I, etc etc etc, do. You just need to make sure that you get rounds on target. If you play the middle to front, spawn block for the people in back to a reasonable spot.
  21. To be honest, it's probably easier just to have an understanding from the admins to the regulars that they won't be banned for abuse of !votekick if they kick someone for team stacking in the absence of an admin. PPM doesn't take into account the intangibles like Biggs said. Most times it'll be based on a match by match basis. Just as long as we don't have people complaining they got votekicked by someone because they stacked, and the admins temp ban the kick initiator (and take the complainers side) it'll be better.
  22. I'm guessing it is coded similar to the game's version of the rage-meter. Only difference being is that you don't get the entire bar back. As for the "nerf" this is actually needed, especially in finales with the new tanks who spawn in usually unreachable places and chuck rocks (See: Dead Air's finale and tanks spawning in on the airport roofs)
  23. Not to badmouth anyone on the server, but a lot of regulars/members go out of their way NOT to do this. Hence as to why I said for some that may be too tall of an order . Without naming names, maybe a suggestion into prodding people to stick with teams might be negative reinforcement from the regulars policing themselves. If a regular switches sides with the obvious reason to stack teams and win, just issue a votekick and have them rejoin the server should they get caught stacking. My thought line is that, if a regular is unwilling to help the losing team as best as they can (by stacking or rage quitting) then good riddance, let someone else willing to do the job teach the new blood how to play 10v10. I don't believe that regulars should be thought of as immune to votekicks especially when it comes to stacking. Also, another maybe easier suggestion into coding is an rcon command to pause the game during map load-ins and the ready-up period. My reasoning behind the rcon command is that it MUST be typed into console and cannot be bound so an admin can't accidentally pause the game mid-round. During this pause the admin in game can then order people to switch (keyword: order), if there are no willing volunteers. edited for grammar
