  1. Ok what I witnessed is Maestro calling out Kazya for rushing several times, he warned at least 2 and then gave a kick. Kazya came right back in and kind of did the "pffft" and "epic admin" thing, so Maestro put in the ban. My suggestion for the future is when an admin says hey no rushing etc. just do the OK thing. When an admin kicks you instead of bans you, they are giving an opportunity to fix the problem or politely make your case, but you probably shouldn't come back in and insult them. Just my 2 cents for the future.
  2. That was a fun match LOL..................................for us. I felt like I was sitting in my very own living room with all the "witches" walking around. ...................................just kidding.................and please don't tell my wife.
  3. I don't think anyone is being banned without some kind of verbal or chat warning while an admin is in. If players do it when an admin is not in, the ban is only for a short time. Most bans are not permanent they are usually an hour maybe up until a day. If they are permanently banned it's because they did something that any reasonable person would realize you shouldn't do. Ie. griefing, suiciding, hacking, porn spray, extremely inappropriate language, sexist, or racist comments. Usually these are repeat offenders. We generally give a new player plenty of slack, but when they keep doing it, the ban hammer gets put down as it should. If someone is regretting their decision and the ban is a long one, they are obliged to come to the forums, make their case and if they are sincere, their ban is usually lifted or reduced. I believe most admins are pretty fair when it comes to these things, in fact probably too lenient sometimes, myself included. Enforcing right and wrong is not always black and white, which is why we have guidelines and admins to interpret and execute them as best they can under the circumstances at the time. That is why one person swearing a bit may get an hour ban and a person dropping f-bombs after repeatedly be asked to stop may get a permanent ban.
  4. I don't see so much people getting "short" with new or inexperienced players. I'll be one of the first ones to hold someone's hand as they make one bad move after another as long as they are making some kind of effort to work as part of the team. I see people grumbling a bit with new and inexperienced players that make no effort to communicate whatsoever. They don't use mic. They don't use chat. They rush, spam vocals, grief. That is about the only time I hear grumbling and it is a valid complaint in my opinion. We dedicate the time and effort to learn the game. We pay good money for a membership, that pays for this whole thing incidentally, because we want to play at a high level, not put up with the same crap they do on "other" servers.
  5. Even when I am away I have L4D on the mind Dark Carnival Anyone??? Cold Stream??
  6. My point exactly test, you don't want the job, but you will complain about the way others are doing it? You have no idea how many non-paid donated hours an admin has to put in just to keep the server somewhat sane. It seems we have an influx of new players and that is a good thing, but also causes a ton of new problems that have to be weeded out. A few months back there were fewer admins and way more problems w/ griefers etc. We added more admins specifically because members were begging us to, to accommodate the extra server and the extra players so until we get those problems weeded out it will get hectic. Dumplings - I didn't comment on that issue, because I wasn't there. I am not sure how the words "scramble, scramble" is an insult, but I wasn't there, so I have no context of the conversation. I was simply commenting on scrambling guidelines in general. The admin offered a scramble, it didn't pass, they moved someone, they left. What else should the admin do, force someone over? Then we would be in the forums w/ someone getting mad about being forced off the team they were on and onto the losing one and that person would be more in the right to complain. I don't mean sound insensitive about the "get over it" comment, but really. What else was the admin to do? He put up a vote to let the players decide and.................they did..........not to scramble so..................if you are the one person who wanted the scramble and you didn't get your way, but the people have spoken then..............you play through it, or go do something else until the campaign starts a new. I am not trying to sound insensitive, but when you get down to it this is what it boils down to. I have played on countless games when the team I am on the team that gets owned, it really really sucks for me too, but my choices are the same. Sometimes I gut it out and sometimes I just take a break.
  7. Okay first of all it is an admins prerogative to scramble not one person on the losing team. It sounds like an admin put up a vote to scramble the teams, which they can do if the teams are stacked. If no one votes or the vote loses due to majority not to, then deal with it, take a break, or move to the other server. It is not fair to just decide against the vote to move people from their winning team, to the losing one, unless they offer and their are no objections, which it seems they did. Why would anyone expect them to do more than that?? It is a competitive game, it supposed to have a winning team and losing one. I get it, when the numbers get that far apart it sucks, but they put up a vote, it failed, they moved someone, that person left. It happens, get over it or get out of it. I think scrambling after every round is a bad idea. It create more problems than it solves. How does anyone know if their team won or not, by the score at the end? If you are on a different team every map, then what is the point of even playing this game. If that's the type of game you want then play single player, this is a competition between two teams. Lastly this is completely false, we have a set of guidelines that everyone follows. If you have that much of a problem with it, then put your money where your mouth is and submit an admin application.
  8. I "think" I like it.
  9. You were permanently banned by Peanut - a board member and Crasx -another board member, said that you are not to be unbanned. To make two board members ban you and request that you not be unbanned is pretty serious. It appears you have had at least half a dozen bans for various things and you seem to totally disregard the rules in the server. They will chime in when they can, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
  10. What I was suggesting would not make it a non community server. This time last year we had only one server. What I was suggesting was make one server a membersonly server and the other server a public server that members and non-members alike can join. Sort of a training server to learn on in the hopes that if they like it they can become a member and get all of the perks that come with being a member. I was only throwing an idea out there to brainstorm a solution.
  11. It seems to me we talked about this before, but wasn't there a discussion about making a members only server? I understand that we want new players in the hopes of them also becoming members if they choose. The only reason I am even bringing this up is that it seems a lot of members are considering not renewing their memberships for the reasons we are talking about here. I am just brainstorming here, I don't know if something like that would even work. I am just trying to explore the idea of a balance between the attraction of new players to the server with the frustration the members have like the ones listed above.
  12. Banned them both for a day. I don't know if they will be back, but if they do come back and we have more problems at least we have some previous documentation if there are more problems.
  13. Thanks a a bunch Charon. I didn't think to do that.
  14. Thanks Pandas. We almost need a steam id or a link to their steam profile to track them.
  15. You were banned by Turnbull on 4/24/14. The explanation is "ty" not sure what that is, but I am sure he will chime in when he can to explain.
  16. There are out of bounds areas in several maps that are not death charge areas, nor are they even meant to be played in, There are no textures no floors just black area. No one is meant to play there, but sometimes people get put there by some crazy charge or tank ping pong etc. The !stuck command is for when you are trapped in a wall or ceiling. So I guess we need to decide if an out of bounds area is just where you die or we teleport you on just the other side of that out of bounds area.
  17. HMMM. My opinion although not I don't care either way. I guess this situation has to kind of beg the question. Is this truly a death charge spot? My opinion.....no. The height isn't such that it instantly kills the player. They are not going off a cliff or an embankment or bridge. In fact the only reason a player would most likely end up dying there is because the survivors cannot "reach" them due to the fence and they cannot climb over. I have had people glitch behind a wall or ceiling etc. as pump just alluded to, a out of bounds area and we do teleport in those circumstances, this is really just the same thing. The player is dying there, because the area is inaccessible, not because the charge resulted in a players death. I guess if there are no admins on they would die there, but thats true for any other out of bounds area where !stuck does not work. To be honest I never have teleported anyone out of that area, but upon thinking about it, we probably should be.
  18. Kazya I was there the whole time. You came in and typed !joininfected instead of !jointeam. Which stacked a team that was pretty well stacked already. I said something to you about this in text and your reply was "pfffft". Like I was being some kind of jerk. I then swaped you to the other team which was down at least 3 players. I find it a little strange that you disconnected at that moment, but it is was it is. You came back in a few minutes later and found you on the "stacked" team again. Turbo said something to you in voice and I gave you a warning for stacking teams to which you replied "lol" and after you got killed in the game and got "disconnected" again. I heard from turbo about you coming in again and stacking and he told me he banned you for an hour for stacking teams. That was the way I saw it. Please in the future when coming in stay on the team you came in on, or type the !jointeam command if you are in spec, everyone on the server knows this. If there needs to be a scramble or we need to manually try to unstack the teams, let the admin do it or suggest the admin do it. I see a lot of members doing this a lot lately and I for one am going to start banning when I see it.
  19. I dont' know if this has happened to anyone else, but all of my bookmarks for GC quit working today. I had to delete my bookmarks, go to all of my pages I want bookmarked and redo them. This has worked for all of them except sourcebans, which is kind of important for me, that link on the GC website isn't working either, so I am not even sure how to get there. Can someone throw me a rope

Ok lets keep this all in perspective. First of all that was an inappropriate comment, rude and disrespectful. No one will argue that. I remember this instance and as soon as I saw out I said whoa whoa whoa and before I could do anything about it, another admin (don't know who it was) banned him from the server and I assumed it was handled from there. But.....................lets keep this in perspective................no one was EVER in any danger of being gangbanged, it's not a swear word per se, but it was disrespectful toward another player and was inappropriate and member or not, deserved a ban of some sort and beast should have sincerely apologized.. Let me be clear I am NOT defending beast, and I really like playing with Dessa, she is a good sport and we have fun playing in the server. I am not trying to diminish her complaint in anyway, it is a legitimate complaint, but everyone at some point in their life has gotten their mouth in front of their brain and said something stupid, so lets not get too crazy. We don't need a new rule we already have one and beast owes her an apology. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HD59hjrmt5A_nfBOt-irw4OiXhTWwkXSEArmoqwJg-4/edit# It's rule no. 1 in case you are wondering.
  21. oh my really. Thanks Pump didn't realize he had a previous ban for telling an admin to shut the f#ck up. Jangurt you really have trolled all of us long enough. You have agreed you were rushing, you said you didn't hear, and you have a previous ban for telling an admin to shut the f&ck up. It sounds like you may need to turn most of your frustration welll....................onto yourself. You got you banned and nobody else.
