  1. Here's a funny one. Hope it hasn't been posted like 100 times already . . . My Webpage
  2. I'm in Crow. Me and a gang of friends have been moving around from MMORPG to MMORPG. UO, AC, DAoC, AC2, Horizons, etc.. We've been watching the progress on World of Warcraft for almost a year and we're hoping ONE of us gets in the beta! This game is looking to be incredible!
  3. Well, XP will see FAT32 as well as NTFS, so that shouldn't be the issue. If it is on the same channel as the new primary, make sure the new primary is set to be the MASTER and the secondary is set to be SLAVE. ie, you want to make sure the jumpers are correct on BOTH drives. Also, where does it tell you "0 used 0 free.. File system= raw" ? I assume the drive is being correctly recoginized by the BIOS. Once you boot into XP, right click on MY COMPUTER and go down to MANAGE. From there, double click on DISK MANAGEMENT. Do you see 2 physical disks? If so, does it give you any details such as size, format, etc. ?
  4. Found this on my PC today while cleaning up and thought somebody may get some value out of it. It's about 6 months old I think and when I got my Sennheisers they were cheaper than they are now (for whatever reason). Headphones Review
  5. Alright Knock! Keep it up! Well, since I'm so liberally distributing my opinions tonite, a girl's "sexy" factor goes up ten fold when she doesn't smoke!
  6. Riiigghhhhttt. Okay, let me throw you a different point of view. I've got a little bit of marriage experience, so this is all coming first hand. Free time in a marriage for the man is a battle that is lost over a long period of time. Hopefully slowly, but in many cases, very rapidly. I've always equated giving up free time with Patton's infamous policy about retreating. He had a firm belief that you should NEVER pay for the same ground twice. Anything you GIVE away now you will have to work DOUBLE hard to get back free and clear. For example, you give up Thursday nights because you think you're being nice. Well, you're NOT being nice. I'll come back to this point. After a couple months you re-institute Thursdays out with the fellas. Sounds fair, right? WRONG! Possession is 9/10 of the law. When you gave her Thursday nights you officially relinquished your ownership. When you attempt to re-establish your time out, you are now TAKING something away from her. That's an issue. That's a fight. That's drama. You may or may not get your Thursdays back, but everybody has already lost. So, when you thought you were being nice, you were just creating a future argument. The Ranger plan says to KEEP your Thursday nights. Even if you don't have any plans, you go SOMEWHERE. Do SOMETHING. Trust me, in 10 years you'll thank me. Heck, I would even add on another night. Say an "every other weekend" bowling league or something. That gives you the leisure to give something up in the future that you don't care much about anyway. A perfect time for this type of "concession" is after children. You make the appropriate sacrifice looking like the hero while, in fact, it was just a 3-5 year plot to protect your free time. You can't give up all your time before you even get started! You give up all your leverage. But be careful of her counter moves. Some wives may be crafty, ANTICIPATE your actions and initiate a preemptive strike. SHE may start ridiculous, time consuming hobbies like SCRAP BOOKING. This type of behavior is a sure fire sign she's on to your game and you are going to have your hands full for the next, oh, 50 years or so. Oh, and be EXTRA careful on Crowbar's "couples dilemna". This is irrefutable evidence that your wife is in ka-hoots with other wives. Couples night does NOT mean you and your buddies get a bunch of beers and watch the game while the wives are upstairs knitting and making snacks. Oh nooooo. Couples night means you will spent the better part of 5 hours playing games like Pictionary while your wife keeps a close eye on your alcohol intake and how many times you glanced at another wife's low cut blouse. Make no mistake, she will try to replace your fun-loving single friends (read: dangerous!) with the soulless husbands that have long forgotten what it was like to think on their own. These are the same soulless husbands that gave up their Thursday nights when they got married. Poor bastards.
  7. So, let me make sure I understand this- You're saying that AFTER marriage is when it gets easier to buy things? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHA That's good stuff Mag. Good stuff.
  8. I built a buddy a computer system and used an MSI Neo2-FIS2R board. First one was DoA and the second one stopped posting after a week. Very frustrating But it seems to be running solid now though. I hope your luck is better than mine with MSI!
  9. Kill3r: I run mid 30's on the CPU idle and low 40's under load. lazarus: Yes, Mario Golf Sw00p: It's a 51" Hitachi Ultravision. Speakers are from Paradigm. Very happy with them. My receiver is an old JVC that I'm replacing. I *almost* bought an Onkyo. Was deciding between that and a Yamaha when Panasonic released their new digital receiver (it's the size of a DVD player). Panasonic is doing a lot of revolutionary things with their new digital model so I bought that. Should be here any day.
  10. Okay, here's the case I built last November. It's a 2.6C @3.1 1 GB PC3500 Memory ATI 9800 Pro (Blue) WD 10K RPM Raptor Drive Soundblaster Audigy2 ZS Gigibyte 8PENXP Mobo (Blue) Kingwin KT-424-BK Aluminum case Aspire 520W Blue Aluminum PS with blue LED fans And here's my desk where the magic happens, my kid playing Nintendo (where you can see my beloved beer fridge) and my home theatre stuff at the other end of the basement.
  11. I put a SB Audigy2 ZS in the box I built a few months ago and I've been real happy with it. Also, I'll put a vote toward a Zalman HSF. Zalman Pimp Daddy It's very quiet and cools like a sunnava. My 2.6C is running at 3.1 and idles in the mid 30's celcius. However, the Zalman is HUGE. Make sure your motherboard has some space around the CPU socket.
  12. Nub?!?! That's Mr. Nub to you. Truthfully, I've never done anything with Samba. Even my linux background is /dev/null However, I did spend 4 or so years as a Unix admin on SCO, Ultrix, DEC OSF/1, and HP-UX. But this was when NT 3.5 was Microsoft's "server" OS and a Unix GUI was for wimps. You haven't lived until you've written your own MAN page and done an entire script in awk
  13. Hey Homey. mrx has it. Samba is the software piece that runs on Linux that enables the file sharing/browsing/authentication pieces that talks to a Windows platform. And if you're going to use linux you need to learn terms like "root" instead of administrator and "grep" instead of search
  14. I picked up BF1942 the day it was released and played it ever since. I picked up CoD the day it was released and played it ever since. They are both FANTASTIC games. Looking long term, I think I enjoyed BF1942 multi-player more than CoD multi-player. Don't get me wrong, I really like CoD multi-player! It plays great, lots of fun, heavily rewards teamwork (or heck, even a little coordination). Also, the dead time between rounds on a lot of servers gives you time to meet/greet people similar to CS. BF1942 does a nice job of bringing different soldier types to the battle. Snipers, engineers, anti-tank, assault, medics ... excellent excellent excellent. Furthermore, you get planes, bombers, jeeps, tanks, etc etc etc. My advice? They are both outstanding. You'll be happy with either. Happier with both.
  15. I've been playing the large Gameserver Detroit server. 50 person server, 30 ping and I always have my [Mmmm] tag on. Ran into m0ss in there
  16. Installed Call of Duty tonite. For those of you that don't know, it's the follow-up game to Medal of Honor. If you like Medal of Honor you'll love Call of Duty. Graphics and gameplay are all up a couple notches. Where Medal of Honor was focused around a lot of "Saving Private Ryan" scenarios, Call of Duty is focused around "Band of Brothers". I'm in the beginning stages of the Single Player game. Recently finished the section where you're racing in a jeep through enemy lines. Bullets flying everywhere, enemy jeeps chasing you. Tanks everywhere. Very very fun. I played a little multi-player as well. Spent about 30 minutes trying to find a decent server with no luck. Right now multi-player is fairly choppy and players "blipping" all over the place. Could be bad servers or a game that's just not ready for Internet play. Not sure which yet. Current assessment: Single Player is excellent. Worth the price of the game. Multi-Player has tons of potential and I have complete faith that my experiences will improve.
  17. It do it because m0ss does it. If m0ss does it, it MUST be cool.
  18. I remember that Kurtz -_- Wasn't that the movie where he kept taping that little dog to the ceiling everytime he got drunk?! Hahaha.
  19. I'm not. I mean, I've downloaded music before (if authorities are watching, my name is g00ters) - but if it goes away, no big deal. I never spent money on CDs and won't in the future, except for rare occasions.
  20. I told some of the Mmmm crew I'd write a review up about some new Sennheiser headphones I just purchased. So, I'm going to share it with "the gang" for people who are wondering about the new Sennheisers. Review of Headphones Hope its useful!
  21. I have a set of $600 5.1 speakers on my home theatre system. I'm getting ready to replace those with something new. So I thought it'd be a swell idea to replace my aging FPS2000 setup on my PC with my old home theatre setup. Does anybody know of a soundcard that will allow me to attach "standard" speakers and subwoofer to? I looked at the various audigy cards and I didn't see the appropriate connectors. Or maybe a subwoofer that will at least let me get my 5 speakers moved over? Anyone?
  22. I played BF1942 daily for about 6 months and, personally, LOVED the openess of it. I also had very little problems with lag (but it did take me a couple weeks to find a handful of reliable servers). Its graphics are better than CS, it's engine is better than CS, the weapons and gameplay are better than CS! Being able to fly planes (of all sorts), captain tanks, jeeps, etc.. - all friggin' incredible!! Absolute top notch game. The ONLY advantage CS has is...well...you guys. The community. So, here I am!
  23. Just played the mission. VERY sweet. Reminds me of an improved Medal of Honor - which was awesome to begin with. Did anybody else get shell shocked? That was incredible.
