  1. My work machine is the only Windows machine I use...and for some reason they have google downloads blocked.
  2. I've used Rocket Dock before. It's awesome. Combination of that and Colibri means I stopped using the Start Menu altogether. By the way, the image he posted...that's his background. Rocket Dock is the dock at the top of the screen. It seriously is an amazing thing that every Windows user should have.
  3. I don't really use mine for anything like you would use it for but I'll offer whatever help I can. You ask about multiple work spaces. Is Spaces not what you're looking for (i.e. multiple desktops)? For uninstalling you can just delete apps, but that doesn't always get rid of everything so I suggest using AppDelete. I have a feeling it is just a choice over AppTrap that sj linked to...I don't know which is better but I know I like AppDelete. I also suggest getting OmniDiskSweeper (I didn't pay for it, just stick with the free version). It's a great app for figuring out where most of your hard drive space is being used. All of the OmniGroup apps I've used are nice, but I haven't felt the urge to pay for any of them. That's all for now, gonna go eat lunch.
  4. Clue, keep us updated on if you have to keep moving north. Also keep us updated on anyone you know who might need places to stay up north. Maybe we can help or find help. Preacher and I live near St. Louis. I've lived here my entire life. We once had an earthquake scare in the early 90's because our fault line was supposed to explode and cause the end of the world...nothing happened. I was in a tornado once when I went to Western Missouri for summer camp. Other than that, I'd say St. Louis is one of the best places in the world to live as far as natural disasters go. Heck, we aren't even very high on the list of places to attack in case of war (although Scott Airforce Base does make us a target if one far down the list).
  5. I'm waiting for mohawk to get famous so I can say I know him.
  6. I got 55% but considering I didn't start until 1.3 I'd say that's pretty....actually that's pretty pathetic that I even got 55%....I'm such a geek.
  7. gcftw.com gets 15million more hits a month!?
  8. already taken down. boo. is open box on a laptop a smart idea?
  9. Ok...can't watch the video from work so I'm not really sure how awesome this thing is. I was thinking "meh". Then I installed it, went to a page and hit "ctrl + space" and typed "email to mom" and it (somehow) knew that "mom" was my mothers email address. Now I'm thinking "BAM!" This is awesome...and that's just the beginning of it.
  10. He doesn't game. He needs something easily portable. Probably doesn't want less than a 15.4" monitor though. He'll mainly use it for school work, myspace (bleh) and watching dvds. give me links! Go!

DNA... you need to check out geekson.com if you like things like this. Just saying. They did a review of it months ago and said it's awesome.
  12. K9 Web Protection is another nice, free way to protect your internets from bad things.
  13. The most important accessory you will ever buy for your iphone 3G....is a charger for your most common situation. i.e. if you're in the car alot, get a car charger. If you sit at a desk with open plugs, get a wall charger. (an extra one) You will survive only charging it at night...but just barely. I charge mine in the middle of the day to be safe sometimes.
  14. Grand Overlord Steve Jobs says I was not kidding. this r srous bzniss.
  15. Just remember that if you don't get the data plan to never use any app you aren't POSITIVE doesn't use the internet unless you're near WiFi. That goes for Google Maps I'd say. Actually I'd check into that. I know that the GPS locator doesn't use the data plan (if it doesn't have to) but the actual map images DO use the data plan from what I know.
  16. I'm just sayin. The extra $300 gets you your very own Apple Brand of an apple on the buttcheek of your choice.
  17. I will say that for every person like me and M2 who drop ours with no issues there are people like sj and a coworker of mine who always get dents (or worse). I have heard of people dropping them from small heights and shattering the screen. So...if you don't get something to protect it...at least be careful with it. Just stay conscious of the fact that it's incredibly expensive when you hold it. I used to have a habit of walking into my bedroom and throwing my phone across the room onto my bed (about 15 feet away). The first time I did it with my iphone and it bounced off the bed I screamed...luckily it landed on the carpet and not the concrete (I totally sleep in a basement) Just be careful.
  18. Definitely get a screen cover. It's a little piece of see-through plastic that sticks to the front of the glass. It keeps the glass from getting scratched. Through 2 iphones that is the only thing I have had protecting either one and they have both survived just fine including being dropped.* *still....don't drop your iphone.
  19. If it ain't gonna be a MacBook Pro (which it should be) then it had better be an Asus. But seriously...get a MacBook Pro. I have had a few laptops in my day (HP, Compaq, Sony, Apple) and none of them felt as usable and "fresh" after a year as my MacBook Pro does.
  20. I am stuck right at the weight I was when this thing stopped. 250 give or take (never more than 251 but never less than 247) I have gone down another belt size and the 38" pants that I just started to fit into are getting loose...but my upper body is still fat...so I look a little funny now...top heavy.
  21. Used. My girlfriend wants one (she thinks). First I'd like to get a friend to let me borrow his so she can see if she'd really use it or not.
  22. Didn't think so. If you come across one, let me know.
