  1. i heard about that. fun stuff
  2. I mainly buy all my stuff at guitarcenter and im looking for cheaper/more affordable stuff
  3. I tired to add you like a week ago, but you still haven't accepted it.
  4. Welcome to a nightmare...although drums are by far my favourite to record they are a pain in the butt if you don't have enough good mics and enough channels on your board Show me an affordable board and mics specifically for drums pleaseeeeee. Or list the ones you use so I can get an idea of what's in store and how much I'll need to spend. My speakers for the PA system came in today. Tomorrow the mixer is coming
  5. sweet. I still wonder about drums? Maybe I'll need another mixer so we can setup the 5 or so drum mics.
  6. I ended up buying this thing: Phonic Powerpod 410 / S710 PA System I don't know if I'll be able to record with it or not. I'm thinking not, but mainly I bought it so we'll have a PA/vocals for when we practice.
  7. Peckles, what kind of mic do you use for vocals? I was looking into a Shure SM58, but those run at around $90. Someone recommended the Samson R21 Microphone because those are in a pack of 3 for $50. I personally was interested in the Shure SM58, but the price of the other mic is just too good to pass on, not to mention we'd have 3 mics to work with. What do you recommend and are you familiar with those 2 models?
  8. From what I heard, you can record 2 instruments at once with that thing. Either mic/guitar, bass/guitar, mic/bass, guitar1/guitar2. I don't know for sure though. Either way, the main problem will be recording the drummer. We'll need some 4-5 mics I think and something with a lot more inputs.
  9. You liked those? I wish JackieChan was recording earlier today. He killed all 4 players in 1 hit lol. (he used a tree)
  10. I was thinking about buying this thing: Line 6 POD X3 Live Guitar Multi Effects Pedal My original intention was to use it as a foot pedal for my guitar, but it looks fairly similar to your Mbox Pro. Would this thing be all I needed for connecting my stuff to a PC/laptop?
  11. Thanks. That helps a lot. I'm new to the recording world and like I said before, I probably won't even get started for several months or maybe later even. But, this gives me a decent idea of what's in store. You seem to agree that Mac is better than PC for this and this is what I've been hearing from several people. I haven't messed around with the two, but I think I'll end up getting a Mac eventually. I don't know if they come with the inputs I need to plug in a guitar cable, etc. or if I need to mod the Mac, but I'm still trying to learn about this now.
  12. Peckles, what kind of computer/program(s) do you use to record? I was looking to start recording perhaps this summer and my friend was thinking about getting an Apple laptop to record with. By the way, we plan on recording guitar, locals, bass, & drums. I'm just curious to see what you are using and if you had any recommendations before we buy needed cpu/software.

    ;-)

Pink Floyd's music makes no sense. I don't understand why they put random noises into their songs like telephones ringing, cash registers opening, and helicopters.
  14. And also thanks to SongSmith, now we're singin' all the time!

  16. Sorry for the post delay, but I just noticed it now. TheMaster's I met these guys by joining a random VS server and we played VERY WELL together. So well that we added each other to our friends list and have been playing VS with each other for several weeks now. These guys play as a team which I VERY MUCH like since it is a rare thing in L4D VS mode and we have not lost a game yet in VS when we play together. Every time I play with them I can tell you that we do not cheat and that game we played was the FIRST time we turned on sv_cheats ONLY for the purpose of playing Dead Air on VS, which you cannot play unless sv_cheats is on. To answer your question about the Tank in the parking garage, TheMaster spawned the tank to help out your team because he felt that the AI Director wasn't helping your team out enough since we all had basically full health AND unused medkits. As far as I know, this was the ONLY situation where he "Cheated," but it was to help your team out since the game felt unbalanced. As for the many hunters you saw, no exploit was used, just teamwork. As I said in the last paragraph, we play together often now and communicate A LOT on the mic to let each other know when a smoker has pulled someone and when a hunter needs to attack, etc. I was specing everyone at different times when I'm dead since there is a 20sec respawn time and I did not notice anything unusual going on. That video you posted shows a glitch that I've seen other people use and it is VERY unsettling. I know those 2 guys don't use it because one game we played together someone used it against us and we STILL played the game out the legit way for several more minutes before finally banning the exploiters from the server. In addition, they were even complaining about several exploits that your team used (skipping portions of the map by jumping on things, etc) because they wanted to game to be played in a normal and clean manner. I personally didn't mind since when I play with you guys on EXPERT MODE we use the easiest way to win, but that just goes to show how clean they actually are. They mentioned it to your team after you did them, so I think you may recall. But once again, these guys are as clean of players as any GC member. Also, that was our first time playing that map on VS. TheMaster has the cfg file to play the 2 maps that the game won't allow so perhaps the "fast moving glitch" was a bug from the game or perhaps it was since we technically aren't supposed to be playing that map.
